If you are looking for a regular Gynecologist, look elsewhere. I have been a patient at Dr. Robinson’s practice on Forest av since 2010 and after many frustrating experiences with this office I have finally decided to move on and find a new doctor who treats me like my time matters and that I deserve respect. First I will explain the incident that caused me to finally find a new doctor. Two weeks ago I was scheduled to have a procedure done. 24 hours before the appointment I called(no, they didn’t confirm with me I had to confirm with them) to make sure the appointment was still set and to confirm if I should take medication they had given me to prep for the procedure. The receptionist said yes take the medicine and we will see you tomorrow. Later that day I received a voicemail saying the appointment was cancelled and to call back ASAP, only the office was already closed and I could not reach anyone. I was furious since I live an hour away and had already made travel and work arrangements that I could not undo. Then the medication kicked in making me completely emotionally unstable(I would drop my keys and start crying) as well as suffering from excessive cramps. The next morning when I finally reached the office they said there was nothing they could do for me. Fast forward to today and I find out that my insurance did not cover the device the procedure was for(which they assured me it was) and the bill was almost $ 700. Since I did not have the procedure I will hopefully be able to fight this, but if I had the procedure done I would be saddled with this huge bill that the office told me nothing about. I feel cheated and betrayed by the doctors who said they would help me with such a personal issue. Besides this ridiculous episode, there have been multiple other occasions they have made my life difficult. Many times I have called the office and asked them to send a prescription refill to my pharmacy and had to call back multiple days in a row to remind them to do so. My pharmacist knows me well because of all the times I showed up at the pharmacy to pick up a prescription that had never been sent since yet again someone from the office neglected to send out my refill. Due to the timing of one incident, I was leaving for a business trip at the end of the week, I had to call Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and finally on Friday they sent it but there was an issue with my insurance that prevented me from doing so. If I had known about the issue on Tuesday I could have easily fixed it but instead I was left without my medication for 2 weeks. That added so much stress to my life for 3 weeks it was ridiculous. Similar incidents of them failing to send refills to my pharmacy have happened every few months since I’ve been a patient. No woman should ever feel this upset or slighted by their gynecologist. The amount of stress this office has caused me is excessive and almost cruel. I strongly suggest you look elsewhere for your reproductive health, perhaps you might be lucky enough to find one that respects you as a patient.
