G20 is(I think) 1 of the ‘discount’ supermarchés in Paris. These supermarkets are usually just the right size, but carry the basics & offer a good selection on everything from prepared food(these cost around € 4-€ 8 here) to coffee, chocolates, cheese, butter, pet food, household items, etc. I have mixed feelings about the G20 Supermarché on Rue Bleue in Paris. I went here to buy some prepared food, because my cousin & I didn’t want to eat out every single time(to save some €) when we were in Paris. I like that they offered a good selection, & everything was affordable. However, when I returned to the store with my cousin later that day, for the first time in our lives, we were accused of shopliting. Hehe. We were asked to show the contents of our purses, & no apologies were given when they found out that we actually didn’t steal anything. I guess shoplifting might be a common occurence in the working class neighborhood/supermarket. I noticed that throughout Europe, they do this strict security monitoring thing where stores as H&M, Mango, etc. literally have guards in front of computer monitors, zooming in on shoppers touching merchandise. So I tried not to take it personally, & even returned to the supermarché once.
