The Bakery at Windy Ridge

The almond croissants are quite possibly the best I’ve had in the States and are definitely my local favorite.
Everything I’ve had from Windy Ridge has been incredible — from their pies during the holidays, to the tasting platter I received for my birthday last year.
The croissants go insanely quick on the weekends — as in by 830am if you’re lucky — but they are worth the early wake up.

So far so good! I got turned on to this place by a friend. The pastries and cookies are definitely melt in your mouth worth good ingredients. The prices are a good value compared to other places and even Smiths. Only drawback or funny part is this place is located in an industrial park area so it’s hard to find unless you look for Windy Ridge Café. This place is good but would avoid their actual sit down place.

Wow — the pastries here are legit! We stopped in this morning and picked up a ham & cheese croissant, a chocolate croissant, a cherry pastry and an apricot pastry — flaky, buttery and so flavorful! If you like high quality pastries and desserts, this is the place for you.

How is it that there isn’t a line around the block for the Sunday donuts? They are a religious experience. We get there early when they are still warm. Amazing! The cherry danishes are great too… But oh the donuts!

Im in park city for a client meeting, so I stopped in to get a little bite for my clients for our breakfast meeting.
$ 80 later, I left with a quiche, and two dozen chocolate croissants. Needless to say, my clients were on such a sugar high that it painted a perfect setting! How can you go wrong with chocolate and carbs? Yummm!
The sweet smell will blow your hair back. So delicious! I was so impressed! I highly suggest this bakery for any perfect breakfast or desert!

Ordered a custom birthday cake. The cake was delicious but the frosting was really not the best quality. May I suggest using real butter in your buttercream frosting and no shortening. There was so much shortening that the frosting was stiff. The cake looked beautiful but it would have been nice to eat the frosting and not just have to cut it away from the cake because it simply tasted like lard.

This is one of my favorite places ever. Love the flour less chocolate cake. Once when we stopped by in the Fall they had fresh donuts. On sad days I sit and think about those donuts and life seems better…

I am from France and the croissants here are amazing! Perfect place to grabs coffee and croissant before a days adventure in Park City.

This is the best bakery in Park City. From the pies to ham and cheese croissants the baked goods are fantastic. The also make a great quick breakfast stop.

Oh how we wish we heard about this bakery before our second to last day! Awesome in every way. Go for breakfast, lunch to go, desserts to go. Fabulous. A must visit for anyone in Park City!

Legit bakery. High quality. Delicious. We had croissants and quiches. Espressos were good too. There is no place to sit and eat. Just lots of very good baked goods. We had trouble finding the address. Better to find Windy Ridge Café, then park in back where the bakery is.

I stopped by here this past Friday morning for coffee with the fiancé. We decided to come here after reading that it was a must stop place for coffee in a booklet we had received. The customer area inside is small like most bakeries and consists of a bunch of display cases with delicious looking items. Sadly i had already eaten breakfast and was not swayed by them but the siren call of a chocolate croissant lured my fiancé in. We both also went with americano’s which the cashier had to call someone else over to make. The Americano’s were good, strong and mostly smooth while my fiancé loved her chocolate croissant.
The bottom line for me is that I would head back here in the future. While I do not think that this is a must stop place for coffee, it was pretty good and a lot of their other food looked good as well.

Best Bakery! They have amazing bread (foccacia) dips, ice cream, dough, ready made entrees and desserts, the staff could be better but they aren’t customer service people they are pastry chefs. Their Chocolate decadence cake is a favorite of mine, and their balsamic bread dip is to die for I want the recipe so bad since i don’t live their anymore but I always eat so much so fast I get a tummy ache! They always have some kind of frozen meal, cookie dough or ice cream their sorbet is really good! Their Pecan Pie is amazing and their cracker bread and foccacia are amazing as well, we always call ahead and order foccacia (you have to call ahead) to dip in the balsamic sauce. When My Grandfather was in town he would sneak out multiple times during the day to go here, he lives in Sun Valley where they have very good food but he loves this place! They also do all the Thanksgiving sides and meals. It is super fun to pick out a little dessert too!

Could there possibly be a more difficult business to deal with? I mean I know that they are a popular bakery — and most of their stuff is good (it is ALL over-​priced), but seriously, they are terrible at customer service. Every time I call to order a pie or cake for a special occasion, it is an ordeal. Today, I called to buy a pie for my son’s birthday. The woman said that they had 3 apple pies, 2 berry pies and one strawberry pie left (at 8:30 am). I asked her to hold a berry pie and that I would be in by 9:30 am to pick it up. She said that she could not hold a pie for me since they only had two left. Fair enough. So, I offered her my credit card number and told her that she could charge the card and I would pick up the pie. She said, and I quote, «I can’t do that either. This is our busy season and we need at least 48 hours to reserve a pie.» Busy Season? The summer in Park City is about as busy as a dog napping in the sun. Now, what’s interesting is that I got the exact same line when I tried to order a cake last December. I get that Park City can be «busy season» in the winter, but not in the dead of summer when the total population drops below Chernobol. When I asked why she could not/​would not take a credit card to BUY A PIE, she simply said, «It’s our policy during busy season.» I guess I am just use to dealing with businesses that want to do business — or, at the very least, attempt to make the customer happy. I am not happy.

Sunday morning. It was about 8:00AM.
There were limited options given the hour I had with my 9-​year-​old. I’m all about chicken nuggets and a Sprite in the evening but the mornings are mine and I wasn’t about to compromise.
Yeah, I could have taken Jessica to a bagel shop or Burger King. Those Cinn-​a-​bons are a work of art for a fast food chain with no other kitchen appliances than a microwave!
I wasn’t cutting corners this particular morning. Google and my GPS found the place, even though I had eaten at the Windy Ridge Café out front once or twice before. This place is back behind the café. It’s not super easy to find without a smartphone but if you don’t have a smartphone by now, you probably don’t deserve to be eating here in the first place.
I had a marzipan croissant and she had a brownie. We bought a loaf of bread, still warm from the oven. No beverages aside from water, I was feeling cheap, mostly because I’d already had a cup of home-​brewed coffee.
This place is a treat. The pic of Obama being presented with one of their cakes at a Deer Valley fundraiser a few years ago was icing on the cake (pun intended). There’s plenty to choose from, I doubt you’ll make a mistake.
I told the cashier about butter bells and suggested a jar of fruit preserves would have been a nice touch. That’s about all the criticism I had for my brief visit.
Experiences like this make me regret making Sandy my home. Then again, given the mud seasons that are a part of the Park City «regular resident» experience, I suppose Sandy is worth it, even though we have nothing on par with this place.
Get there. Often. Appreciate what you have and suck it up during the mud season because summer and winter and this bakery is why you live where you live!

This brought back great memories from France. We bought a huge assortment of pastries, breads, and cookies this morning and were delighted as we ate them all day!

I’m a big fan of this bakery! Their brownies are to die for and the Stareos (star-​shaped chocolate cookies filled with vanilla bean pastry cream and dipped in chocolate on one side) are phenomenal. I haven’t tried their savory offerings, but they typically have a wonderful assortment of sweets. Last time I went in, they had macaroons, French macarons, tarts, lemon bars, brownies, standard cookies (chocolate chip, sugar, etc.), peanut butter sandwich cookies and more.
My only disappointments there so far are the sugar cookies (iced with fondant rather than icing, so it’s hard… they look lovely, though!), pistachio macarons (overly sweet) and the fact that they don’t make a variety of cupcakes (if they have any at all on a particular day, they’re oversized chocolate cupcakes).

I’m a foodie and I love this bakery. Everything is so fresh and delicious. I know they’re full of fat but they’re so good. The pastries are flaky and buttery. The pies are perfection in a pan. We come here every time we go to Park City and I always want to bring something home, but we never make it, because I always eat them before I get home. My girlfriends and I purchased a pie and ate it with spoons one time, that’s how delicious these are.

wonderful pastry. i’m not a huge fan of cake, however, their cakes are these amazing velvety concoctions that don’t weigh you down, don’t make you feel like you’re being attacked by sugar crystals. the one i chomped on was the vanilla bean cream cake. vanilla bean white cake layered with vanilla bean pastry cream, vanilla syrup, and fresh raspberries or strawberries. Ivory buttercream frosting.
they also have macaron which are decent.
