Jesse Butler, MD

I was sent from California to Chicago to See Dr. Jesse P. Butler for an I.M.E. for an occupational injury by my claims adjuster. Dr. Butler was supposed to assess my medical records/​MRIs etc… and physical conditions objectively and in an unbiased fashion. He said he didn’t see anything of interest on my MRIs and I told him about the pain in my neck/​back and numb/​tingling sensation in my left arm and asked how his opinion could differ so greatly from my doctors. He stated that «Doctors dealing in W/​C cases in California only get paid about 13 cents on the dollar.» Implying that they have to operate in a turnstile manner. He also stated that «many of them are older and at the end of their career.» I’m not sure if he had a genuine prejudice against California/​older Physicians, has an over-​inflated ego, or if he was in some way influenced by the insurance company that pays him to do these exams. Either way, I feel it was unethical for him to make these statements. I would recommend caution when dealing with Dr. Butler and if yo have a choice, find a different doctor.
