I had a wonderful experience at my first appointment. Every person from the receptionist to the medical assistant was friendly and helpful. In addition, I was given a courtesy call several hours ahead of my appointment to alert me that the doctor I scheduled with was called out of the office for an emergency and that she may not be back in time for my appointment. This was very impressive to me, as so often offices will simply stick you with another doctor in the practice rather than who you scheduled with.
The office itself is extremely clean and organized (which is a MUST for me) and appears updated and modern. The best part of my visit was that my wait time from check in to being seen by a physician was under 30 minutes.
I saw doctor LaBarge for an annual and was equally impressed with her. Dr. LaBarge was friendly, thorough but quick, and very well put together. As I am newly relocated to the area, I’m ecstatic that I have found both an office and doctor that I am comfortable with and know that I will return to this office and Dr. LaBarge for years to come!

One star just for the fact that the reception staff set their voicemail lines up at 2:50pm today when online says they close at 3:30pm today. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, cause a lot of times things online do not get updated. However, I listened to the voicemail recording and sure enough it states they close at 3;30. I am a phone operator myself this is completely unacceptable! In every way possible!
Otherwise as far as Doctor Dickerson goes, she is lovely and I will always wait several weeks to see her if that’s what it takes but the face of this office is terrible and things like that seriously need to be addressed.

My wife is pregnant and we chose MCWHC. They have 4 Doctors who would possibly deliver our baby, and you meet with each one of them throughout the process. We are attempting to do a low intervention birth, and we notified them of this very early in the process to ensure that all of the Doctors were on board.
Dr. Bush — Dr. Bush is awesome. We really got along with him fantastically, he seemed extremely dedicated and invested in the outcome of our pregnancy, and really made my wife at ease about her questions. If the practice was limited to Dr. Bush, we would have likely had him deliver our baby. The hospitals they will deliver at (Lutheran General and Resurrection) don’t seem to be all about low intervention protocol, but Dr. Bush generally addressed our concerns and indicated that we could do the things my wife wanted to do, which included: not having an IV unless there was a problem, being able to walk around as desired, having intermittent monitoring, and eating during labor, to name a few.
Dr. Scarimbolo — Although we only met with him once, we really liked him a lot. He seemed like the most in-​tune with our low intervention requests and definitely put us at ease about the components of our birth plan.
Dr. LaBarge — This is where things really went off the rails for us. Dr. LaBarge seems like a very no-​nonsense type of person and told it like it is. This is completely fine. No one wants to be bull*hitted and then to find out later that nothing is done the way they say it will be. However, Dr. LaBarge was extremely argumentative, downright intimidating, and wasn’t even really listening when we were asking questions. When we started talking about the low intervention ideas we were considering, she mentioned that this would be fine, depending on what we were specifically referring to. Then she proceeded to tell us that she’s had some expectant mothers who had CRAZY requests, which are not possible, like «not having an IV», and «not having constant monitoring». That those people are more suited for a home birth. This was shocking to us. We explained those were things that we did want, and she started to back-​pedal. These were specific things that 2 other Doctors in her practice had previously said that we COULD do. When discussing trying to do things without an epidural, walking around, not lying on her back for long periods, Dr. LaBarge had the nerve to tell us that my wife hasn’t ever had a baby before, that the Dr. has had babies and she will want to lie down and insinuated that she will want access to pain meds. NOT HELPFUL and RUDE.
Because of the chance that she would possibly be on call during the time my wife goes into labor, we will not be using MCWHC to deliver our baby. That 25% chance is not a chance we are willing to take.
Dr. Dickerson — unfortunately due to our experience with Dr. LaBarge, we never ended up seeing Dr. Dickerson.
To top it all off, when we asked for our medical records to be faxed to a new doctor, they charged $ 20 (the administrative person said it was normally $ 35!, so I guess records were on sale that day). I’m pretty sure we made the right decision.

All of the staff is very welcoming. Office has set up an online portal if you’d like to make an appointment online, chat with a doctor, or view lab results. Dr. Bush is excellent. Very caring, attentive, and doesn’t make you feel rushed. As a person who doesn’t enjoy going to the doctor, Dr. Bush made me feel comfortable and less nervous. Would definitely recommend this facility.

I’ve received wonderful care here for years. The team was especially great when I was expecting and when delivering my baby!

I love this group of doctors. They made me feel comfortable and were very professional. The nurses are very nice and I love the fact that The office is located in the hospital.

This office is great! Doctors here have delivered two of my babies and performed many other critical health care services for me beyond those. Dr. Bush is their newest doctor but the best. He has excellent listening skills, answers questions with answers that’re thorough and credible, is extremely patient, and even has a great sense of humor. Please don’t schedule a visit with him though because I’d like to continue with easy scheduling and short wait times when I see him.
The other doctors are all good. Each have pro’s and con’s. I like having a rotation of doctors because I could pick one out of the 4 to actually deliver my baby and continue with my long-​term health care. Every doctor has a personality and style and not everyone is a match. Having said that, I’ve received good, thorough care from Dr. LaBarge and Dr. Dickerson, who each delivered one of my babies. My babies and I had excellent, trouble-​free deliveries and post C-​section care. They’re women I’ll both consider to be special to my family because of the expertise and care they both showed during my deliveries. Dr. Scarimbolo is well-​regarded by the surrounding community and even though we planned for him to deliver my last baby, his early arrival changed all our plans.
The nursing and technical staff are all very sweet and supportive. They’re easy to talk to, flexible and helpful. We need that during weekly weigh-​ins (confidence-​suckers) and recurring blood draws!
Yes, one or two of their front desk staffers are rude. No one wants to arrive at an office needing health care and instead be talked to rudely about bills. I took one star off my review for being turned away by Bernie for an insurance coverage issue that shouldn’t have happened. That missed visit ended up being very important in my life… The other women at the desk are nice: Vivian, Michelle, Lauren and others have helped me out in a pinch with record retrieval, scheduling, procedure support and other issues.
All things considered, I highly recommend this office. If you apply some common sense and use experience as a guide, knowing to schedule appointments early in the day before «pregnant woman backup» happens, and understanding that these days, every health care provider seems to hit you up for payments before you get health checkups, then this is a great office for your female health care needs.

Dr. Bush and dr. Dickerson are extremely welcoming and nice. The nursing staff however is extremely rude every time I have gone in. I have waited extra time where I only saw the doctor for about 5 minutes but waited an hour to see them. The front staff makes me want to give them a one because I hate going because I have to deal with them. These are medical offices about extra sensitive things and they just have huge attitudes. I had a balance on my account that my insurance didn’t cover that I wasn’t informed about and the lady only told me and she acted as if I wouldn’t pay her. I was standing in the office holding my wallet just asking questions like which visit and hoe much. I clearly wasn’t upset just confused and didn’t know the amount. she wouldn’t even tell me the price when I had asked her until I asked her three times as I held my card telling her I was going to give her the card until she told me the exact balance to which she only did then. I’m not sure she expected me to just hand over my card without the amount. It was only $ 9.00 too for such a big attitude. Like I said the doctors here are lovely but a good chunk of the nursing staff could really be replaced due to their clear disrespect of their patients.

This office the doctors and the staff were amazing. Everyone that I met with was nice. The woman at the front desk was very helpful. The nurses I met with were really nice and easy to talk to. My doctor was professional, knowledgeable and very kind. He made sure all my questions were answered and was not rushed. The office was clean. My wait time was normal. My whole visit was about an hour.
I would definitely recommend!

Waiting time takes forever!!! And the actual time you see the doctor probably less then 3 minutes. I don’t like that they have so many doctors, I have been going here since I was 5 – 6 weeks pregnant, now I’m 7 months pregnant and I still don’t feel comfortable with any of the doctors. I have seen them all at my appointments, but like I said it’s too many. I don’t even remember them all. It
sucks because when I give birth I don’t have a choice, whoever is ON call will delivered my baby. Mmm if I could change to somewhere else I would, but I can’t because of my insurance. NO I don’t recommend this place. And another thing I forgot to mention only ONE doctor has actually seen and touch my belly, like measuring and stuff like that. I would also prefer if the doctor would check the baby heartbeat with doppler NOT the medical assistant, she only heard the baby heartbeat for less then 5 seconds, no I am not kidding. Please don’t go here if your pregnant. If i could I would go somewhere else.

The five stars are for Dr. Scarimbolo. Truly great bedside manner, kind, easy to talk to, gentle. I like that the office has a computer tablet for checking in. I like they have the computer program so you can check on your results online if you so choose. Clean, nice office atmosphere.
I am glad he is my care provider.

This is the third time I’ve had to wait over an hour to be seen by the doctor. I clearly hear the staff chit chatting about their personal life outside of the room in which I was waiting. Very unprofessional.

I’m rating this place on the office staff. When comes to make appointment everything is fine, maybe a bit too fast but ok, when comes to ask questions– being conected to nurse or billing– horrible, God help us all!!! Being treated this way is unbelievable, I can not understand how come ladies there are soooo mean, what I’ve done to them?! I just want to ask the question I have problem with– I don’t know all the procedures and this is why I’m calling and isn’t their job there to answer us politely???
Is it all about the money only or they are there for the patients too?! PLEASE!

I would never recommend this office to anyone. I came to this office because I really wanted to be able to deliver my baby at the same hospital where my siblings and I were delivered, but the office staff has been nothing but rude and inconsiderate since my first visit.
I don’t have maternity benefits and was turned down by All Kids state insurance but every appointment I make payments from $ 400-​$ 700 even though money is tight. I get phone calls an hour before my appointment telling me I owe $ 1000 or they won’t see me or I even make it into my appointment before I hear I owe $ 800+ dollars in order to be seen.
The doctor I last saw was rude and had zero people skills. She didn’t keep herself well kept which was a huge turn off and when she walked in she asked me if I made arrangement plans, measured me, checked the heartbeat, told me everything looked good and then walked out. Like she wanted nothing to do with me because I only paid $ 400 rather than $ 800.
I am constantly being pressured to take test after test after test, that aren’t necessary when they know that I don’t have the insurance to cover it. I leave every appointment upset, feeling horrible and as if I am going to be a horrible mother to my son since I can’t afford to pay my medical bills in ridiculous installments.
Having a baby is supposed to be a happy time for new parents, but thanks to this office it has caused me nothing but stress and has made me everything but happy and excited.
All in all, I am extremely unhappy with the way they handle their business and the way they present themselves. I have seen 4 different doctors since I got pregnant and the last doctor and last appointment there will be my last with the company all together. I haven’t seen one doctor that was understanding of my situation and didn’t make me feel horrible for not wanting to run several different unnecessary test. When I say no they suggest I go to a clinic to get it done. Their customer service is horrible. They are delivering babies, you would think they would have different attitudes. Like I said before, I would never recommend this office to anyone. Not even my worst enemy.

I called and scheduled an appointment for 12 noon. They told me to come 15 – 20 minutes early to complete some paperwork. I arrived there at 11:45 — 11:50 am. I have a newborn and 2 and half years old babies at home to take care of. I waited Dr. John Bush to see me until 12:35pm then reminded my 12pm appointment to registeration desk staff. The lady at the desk told me that she will check the doctor then I waited 10 – 15 minutes more. Finally they asked me to go exem room and nurse started to ask me the same questions what I completed on the form when I first arrived. Nurse left the exam room and never came back. I waited in the exam room like 15 minutes then left the room. I explained at the registration desk that I waited too long to see doctor and asked her to not charge anything to my insurance just because I could not see the doctor 1 hr 15 minutes past my appointment time. She checked with the doctor again and informed me that he was with the different patient and it will take 15 more minutes.
I waited Dr. John Bush to see me for almost one and half hours (that’s right. Almost 90 minutes). They did not give me another alternative. They did not help me at all after waited 90 minutes. I spent all this time to find this provider, going there and coming back to home even without seeing doctor. Unexceptable. This please is just like a bad joke. Go spend your time with your loved ones instead of waiting in their waiting room and watching their fish tank in the lobby area.

Terrible office staff who cannot take a moment to call the clients to let them know they are an hour behind, a doc who overbooks herself and has never ever been on time in all my years of going there, and overall very disappointed from start to finish. The only saving grace was that after expressing my anger and unhappiness, a very nice guy doctor took care of me with no problem.

I love my doctor from here and the staff is always nice to me. I usually don’t have to wait long and the nurses are very nice. The only one i do not care for is the woman who draws blood. Shes not gentle at all and seems like she does not want to be there. I always ask to get my blood drawn by the nurse (who deos a fantastic job) or ask for an order to go else where.

Choosing what I like to call, a lady doc — ObGyn for those who are slow on the uptake — is a big deal. Especially when you’re choosing one in a new city and state. It can be downright terrifying. But after chatting with some girlfriends, some who have recently had children delivered by a sister practice of this particular Midwest Center for Women’s HealthCare, I was comfortable making an appointment.
While I haven’t yet seen all four doctors at this practice (a prerequisite for all moms-​to-​be as any of the four doctors might deliver your babe), I’ve had nothing but really great experiences with Dr. Dickerson and Dr. Scarimbolo. The nurses are also solid — many of them smiley and friendly, happy to provide extra information when asked. And the ultrasound tech is also top notch — she’s been measuring babies in utero for 20+ years!
The office itself is clean and complete with a fish tank (hubs’ favorite) and child play area. I’ve never had a problem scheduling or moving an appointment and I really appreciate the care and attention I receive during each visit. Bonus points for a nice online *portal* where you can pay your bill, receive lab results, etc. As my pregnancy progresses and the little one arrives late this year, I’m sure I’ll be able to update this review with a comprehensive peek at the entire MD staff!

It’s that time of year again. Dr. LaBarge is highly recommended. Nuf said.
