Oh Oberweis, thou shall not be within five miles of where I live. LOVE their milkshakes and black cherry ice cream. Their seasonal flavors are a must try like the blueberry pie and apple pie ice cream!

Since I was visiting the area, a friend brought me here for dessert. It was a bit of a mess when we walked in, presumably thanks to a rather larger group of people who had just left, and I wasn’t quite certain what to expect. In the end, though, I was very pleasantly surprised. The ice cream was delicious, and — while it may just be that I’m used to DC prices — I thought that the cost was quite reasonable for what you got. It was just starting to get crowded again as well, so I might have just been there at the perfect time, but the atmosphere was pleasant while I was there. Overall, I was definitely a fan.

We came here for my daughter’s birthday with 9 of her friends, after we finished seeing a movie at the theater across the street. The manager, Latasha, was absolutely amazing. She had a banner with my daughter’s name on it and a bunch of balloons set up in the area she reserved for us. They took each child’s ice cream order, then brought a bunch of toppings over so they could make their own sundaes. They were so friendly and accommodating, and the price was incredibly reasonable. They even gave my daughter a little gift bag at the end, which was a nice extra touch that made her feel special. The kids had a great time, and of course everyone loved the ice cream. I would do a birthday here again in a heartbeat!

I always get the same thing: a regular size chocolate shake. Boyfriend gets a two-scoop cone. Never have any complaints about the ice cream… ever…also their milk is DEELISH. Love going in on a lazy day to have ice cream and play chess. SUPER expensive though, my shake and the two scoop ice cream is $ 13 total! kind of nuts, also back in the day, maybe 10 years ago, they always had a free sample of chocolate milk or lemonade out in the store and they stopped that, that was a nice perk and believe it or not led me to purchase some of the things i tried… overall I love and enjoy it but its a special occasion kind of place we go to maybe once a month because its too pricey.

Ice cream is good but super overpriced for anything you get. Have had much better ice cream at local ice cream parlors that were not even close to being as pricey.

My favorite! Anything you get here is delicious. I’m a fan of their shakes and sundaes. Yum! Definitely quality ice cream.

Oberweis is a pretty nice neighborhood place to get some pretty decent ice cream. There’s nothing that will blow you away on the menu but everything I’ve tried has been pretty solid. Some highlights have been the birthday cake and the butter pecan. I usually get the waffle bowl that is covered in chocolate. But there is some other pretty good stuff like the frostbite which is their version of the DQ blizzard. There is also a pretty large section of take home stuff like ice cream sandwiches or chocolate milk. Oberweis does classic ice cream really well, definitely recommended as a an alternative to Dairy Queen or Baskin ‘Robbins.

If you like $ 8 ice cream cones this is the place for you. Unfriendly staff and mediocre ice cream meant for rich kids with unlimited budgets. Way better places out there.

Excellent customer service and wonderful ice coffee, shakes and ice cream. Never had anything less than stellar from here!

Love everything here! My fav is the Mocha frozen coffee! The ice cream is always rich and creamy and the cones here are the best of say! They have a new apple crisp ice cream that looks delicious! I’ll have to try that next time!

We are here off and on, especially during the summer months. Ice cream: really good. They only have a relative few flavors in the big quart-size take home containers but they make a great treat at home now & again. Try the lowfat chocolate milk. If that’s not good enough the try the lemonade(both in the classic glass jugs). I can’t give these guys 5 stars as every now & again, it just takes one or two brainless teenagers working there to really get me irritated.

So my bf and I ordered a banana royale. We asked for chocolate, vanilla, and a chocolate peanut butter scoop w the vanilla in the middle. Asked for caramel and fudge toppings. We still got that nasty pineapple garbage and strawberry topping. fudge was only on one scoop. uhhh… if that’s what i wanted, i’m sure that’s what i woulda asked for. Disgusting. When our server gave us our spoons, she set it down on the counter. That’s another strike. — Right, cuz I want all the germs from the counter in my mouth. was so excited to splurge on dessert, but left hugely disappointed. woulda been happier with an $ 1.39 sundae from mc donald’s drive thru. Moral of the story: if you want bananas involved with your ice cream, you obviously can’t customize anything here. I thought it would be common sense for the server to ask, «do you still want the other toppings that typically come with it?» But common sense is not that common =(

I love their ice cream and you would too but only if you like milk because you can definitely tell their central pride is their milk! :} My usual is a scoop of strawberry. Hits the spot every time. :}

Oh mon dieu. Everytime I eat here, I’m reminded that I am indeed lactose intolerant and no, it does not go away over time. The brownie a la mode with hot fudge is always spot on here. Don’t order the hot fudge brownie sundae, it’s more expensive. (Pssssst… Get in a to-go container and you get more hot fudge)

They did not have pistashcio when I went. And it looked like a real short list of specialty flavors. I can’t stand it when a premium joint cuts back or runs out of stuff. It’s like isn’t that’s why you claim to be premium and charge premium prices? Their malts were good though.

Shhhhh! Don’t tell my boyfriend, but I had a double scoop sundae with hot fudge and whipped cream for dinner last Tuesday night. I was out of my «wifely» dinner making duties and figured«what the hell?» I needed a splurge! Oberweis is GOD. No, seriously. I absolutely adore this dairy heaven.(However, my thighs do not). My fave flavors are the butter pecan and caramel chocolate crunch(seasonal only in the summer). You know? I actually love EVERY flavor. Ice cream is my weakness and absolute favorite dessert that I simply cannot pass up– especially if it’s «simply the best, Oberweis.» I recently was offered a mailer for the Oberweis home delivery system… I’m considering becoming a member. MMM hormone free milk and dairy. Sign me up!

I love the shakes here and if have a Costco membership, make sure to pick up an Oberweis gift card for a nice discount($ 40 for 2 $ 25 cards). I like the Mint Chip shake and they also make a great strawberry shake. Milk is sold in most local stores, but has minimal markup here and most likely cheaper than your local Jewel or Dominicks.

A-mazing. Price is high, but this is quality. Their milk tastes fresh, the ice cream is creamy and flavorful, and the waffle cones are to die for. My nose was in heaven as soon as we walked into the store. I tried their birthday cake and cookies and cream flavors. The birthday cake is one of the best that I have ever had. I’m a dork, so I got an extra kick out of the fact that it was also partially blue(never saw that before). The cookies and cream wasn’t too bad, but I think I’ll try the chocolate peanut butter next time.
