Park Ridge Endodontics

I had low to moderate grade pain on right side of my bottom molars for about 4 days. At times the pain would radiate to my upper jaw. My strong hunch, before going to my dentist, was I needed a root canal as pain occurred when hot or cold temperatures were involved. I met with my dentist & she felt it related to me having some gum recession in this area which was causing occasional nerve pain. She infused some desensitizer substance in this recessed gum area.
This didn’t work & I decided to visit with a former periodontist so he could evaluate. He told me that I had some gum recession & bone loss & suggested I start seeing him or another periodontist on a regular basis. I was annoyed that my regular dentist hadn’t referred me to a periodontist in the past five years nor did she diagnose my root canal need. This periodontist reported that his strong hunch was that tooth#30 needed a root canal. I was relieved to have clarity & he referred me to an Endodontic practice.
I went to this Endodontist based on my periodontist referral. The Endodontist was very young & told me he went to dental school with periodontist’s son. I began to privately question the nature of this referral. The Endodontist did a pulp test & immediately told me that tooth#30 was dead. He told me that I had about a 50% percent chance of having a successful root canal.
He also told me my tooth was infected. I told him I needed to think about this before proceeding. He wrote me a prescription for Amoxicillin, 500mg, 3 times a day with a total of 22 tablets & then I can see him next week. I didn’t think my tooth was infected and I didn’t fill prescription. I also didn’t like being offered an envelope full of ibuprofen with each tablet being 800mg. I was able to satisfactory use my own Advil, 200mg tablets, 2 tablets every 12 hours for the next 3 – 4 days. Why use more pain killers & medication than you may need?
It was then that I called Park Ridge Endodontics. Dr Patrick Fitzgerald had already done two successful root canals for me in the past 10 years.
I called his office & they were able to squeeze me into his very tight schedule two business days later. I recall Dr Fitzgerald stating that I didn’t have an infection. I told Dr Fitzgerald that if I was going to lose my tooth, I wanted to lose it at his office as I wouldn’t regret it as I went to the best Endodontist possible. Needless to say, Dr Fitzgerald in a very confident, calming & professorial way successfully executed my root canal. He actually makes a scary event almost seem pleasant. Thank you, Dr Fitzgerald!

The staff is responsive to billing concenrs.

I’ve read all the great reviews and it seems they’re all about root canals, so maybe this is a great place for these. However, I went in for a consultation for an implant and was given an expensive full mouth x-​ray without them telling me that my high-​end PPO insurance wouldn’t cover it. I wound up paying over $ 250 out of pocket for this. The consultation was for two implants. One they said they could do but the other was too extensive for them to handle. So basically, the appointment cost me a lot of money and I came out of it with nothing but a CD of the x-​ray that I received almost two months later. Other dentists said they need the x-​ray to be current and the CD isn’t usable. Not pleased at all. I wouldn’t recommend them for implants and their staff needs to be more transparent on what is covered with insurance and what isn’t before anything is done.

I had a root canal done here about a month ago, and Dr Fitzgerald was amazing! It was completely painless and done very quickly. As my regular dentist was prepping me for a crown, she called his work «beautiful.» I highly recommend this group and especially Dr Fitzgerald.

I would give 6 stars if I could. I can see why all the reviews are so darn positive. I have had 2 root canals here, after overcoming immeasurable fears. Dr. Fitzgerald is confident, reassuring, professional, and surely must stand as the preeminent endodentist in the area. I don’t want another root canal, ever, but if I need to have one, it is here that I will definitely go. And I paid cash, both times. He called me the next day, I was in my garage moving a car engine, by hand, less than 24 hours later! I never imagined! Don’t waste your time, your search has ended here. Take it from me.

I just left the office a few hours ago for a root canal and Dr Fitzgerald was FANTASTIC!!! I wouldn’t go anywhere else than here. I live 30 mi away and it was totally worth it. I highly recommend this office to everyone who needs this type of work done.

Great practice. My procedure went very smoothly. The staff and doctor were professional and very helpful. Dr. Munaretto was great! Kept me informed and updated throughout the procedure. Great follow up to ensure that all was well. Would highly recommend!

Painless as promised! I was very scared going into have a root canal done because my referring dentist was not able to completely numb me (with several shots in my gums plus extra anesthetic in the tooth itself). Dr. Fitzgerald immediately put me at ease and promised it would be painless. He stuck to his word. Like other Unilocal reviewers Dr. Fitzgerald called a few hours after the procedure to check up on me. 5 hours after the procedure and I only have a little bit of dull aching — and I don’t even need Advil! I’ve never had a root canal before but it seemed like they had very modern equipment. The x-​rays just popped right up on the screen in front of me. The doctor’s assistant showed me the before and after x-​rays and explained what was done. I’ve learned to never ever let a general dentist try to do a root canal. General dentists do not have the right equipment or the right pain medicine. It’s very comforting to know you are in the hands of an expert — and someone so confident in his abilities to promise there would be no pain.

Dr. Fitzgerald and his staff are just AMAZING! They put you at ease while giving the most pain free experience. Don’t tell my dentist but I wish he was mine. So kind and he didn’t lie, my root canal did not hurt even the shots. Such a wonderful experience!!! Thank you!!!

My second or third root canal here and as always, painless, quick and pleasant! Dr. Fitzgerald is the nicest and most professional dentist I’ve ever met, and I’ve met my fair share of not so great dentists. He knows exactly what you need, and does it quickly and exceptionally well. Even his technique with the shots is almost pain free. His office staff is wonderful as well. Very friendly and welcoming, and they call you ahead of time to let you know what your share of the bill will be. And you can get always get an appointment quickly. Oh and he always calls you in the evening to make sure you’re feeling okay! Who does that? I highly recommend Dr. Fitzgerald to everyone!

I had a really positive experience with this provider. My dentist referred me to this practice and was able to make me an appointment on the same day. Prior to coming into my appointment I was called from one of the staff member. She was really kind and ensured that my insurance covered the procedure. I knew ahead of time what my insurance covered and what I was responsible to pay.
My root canal was preformed by Dr. Munaretto. He had great bedside manner and was very knowledgeable. He made me feel comfortable and I experienced very little pain before and after the procedure. He even called me later that day to ensure I was ok. I would recommend this practice.

I was referred to Dr. Munaretto from my dentist for a root canal. I am currently 9 months pregnant, I was in a great deal
of pain and they fit me in with in a day of calling. They took excellent care of me, working quickly and also carefully knowing that lying on my back for a long period of time would be difficult. My root canal was in a very difficult spot being at the very back of my mouth, but that didn’t seem to be a problem for the doctor and his team. Dr. Munaretto even called to see how I was doing at the end of the day. I would definitely recommend them and I am so happy to be pain free, they did a beautiful
job on my tooth.

I am so happy right now. Several weeks ago, I was told I needed a root canal. Being over 7 months pregnant, I was a little worried. Plus, it’s a root canal, so I was just scared in general. But Dr. Munaretto and the awesome assistant were just amazing. Helpful, funny and very sweet. He told me everything he was doing so there was never a surprise and he made sure I was never in any pain. i have very sensitive teeth that tend to require multiple shots. He took care of it all. The soreness could have lasted 10 days or more, but I only had soreness the next day and that was it. The root canal was in a very complicated place. All the way in the back of my mouth and his expertise made me feel like I was in really good hands. He called that day to make sure I was Ok. I am so happy and I now know why this place has such a good rating, They are absolutely amazing, nice and will baby you if that’s what you want (I did). Thank you!!! If I need another one, I know where to go! :)

I must say that I can, without hesitation, give Dr. Munaretto my stamp of approval. This is hard because I have seen several specialists and not anyone has compared to Dr. Munaretto’s amount of professionalism and skill that he and his staff presented to me today. I would like to think that I am a rather difficult patient due to my anxiety when it comes to seeing the dentist. Dr. Munaretto handled my anxiety stricken self with confidence. He made me believe in him and that is why I felt more comfortable. He could see that I was nervous so he thoroughly explained each step that he was performing during my root canal which was great because it was very informative. He did his very best to ensure that I left with a positive experience. He kept saying «you’re doing a great job only a couple more steps left and we’ll be finished». It was nice to see that there are still some kind souls out there that care for their patients. An added bonus to this whole visit was that this root canal was the first one I ever had completed in one session and I’m so thankful for that! It was done quick and painlessly. Dr. Munaretto also called me to check up on how I was feeling and to make sure that I was not in any pain which was a plus in my book. I highly recommend that if you need work done you go see him!

Wonderful! Dr. Fitzgerald was the best! Painless root canal yes painless. They took me in as an emergency right away! Found my original dentist’s goof up. fixed me up n got me out of pain almost immediately. Great staff in the front desk. Great office manager Katie who helped me with my insurance issue I had.

Just had a root canal here today. Every other review was spot on. Procedure took 40 minutes and there was ZERO pain. Dr. Fitzgerald is an excellent doctor and put me at ease immediately. I highly recommend this office if anyone needs a root canal. I told Brian about it.

I have never been a fan of dental procedures. I have always been afraid of dentist. My mom said I have been afraid of dentist since the day I was born. Of course I have worked in the dental industry most of my life lol. Life little irony. Two thumbs up to Park Ridge Endodontics. Dr. Munaretto and his assistant was wonderful. He called the same day to follow-​up with me to make sure that I was doing okay. Great Service!

I just had part 1 of the root canal done today and it’s honestly not too bad. Much quicker than I thought and I didn’t feel anything. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Fitzgerald truly wants the best for you and your teeth. He explained things very clearly and made sure I understood the process of the procedure. The office staff clearly explained the cost of the procedure before he began and everyone works with you to make sure that your insurance covers as much as possible. You just don’t see this type of care too often (at least I don’t!).
Honestly, no one wants a root canal. But if you need to have one I would definitely come see Dr. Fitzgerald and get taken care of properly. Highly recommend.

After weeks of having a tooth ache, I went in yesterday for a root canal. I’ve had some previous bad experiences with other dentists, so I was extremely anxious going in. Dr. Fitzgerald was extremely personable, listened to what I had to say about being scared out of my mind and did everything he could to make me feel comfortable.
You know when you go to the dentist and need Novocain and typically that first shot hurts, and then you don’t feel much after because the area is numb. Dr. Fitzgerald has some amazing techniques that you don’t feel the first one — nothing. It was all about taking deep breaths, working with him as he did what he had to do. Even after all that, 30+ years of going to some dentists who weren’t that great and scarred me for lif, I couldn’t get relaxed enough. He wanted me to be comfortable so at my request, I got laughing gas. I think that was best for all of us! He worked quickly and efficiently and had me out of there in no time.
Dr Fitzgerald said that I may experience some soreness for the next few days and to take advil. I took advil before bed last night and I can honestly say I haven’t even needed to take anything today. I attribute this to his fantastic work!
If I ever need a root canal — he is where I am going and I will definitely be recommending him to all my family and friends!

I went to see Dr. Fitzgerald yesterday, I needed two root canals. Dr. Fitzgerald’s professionalism was amazing. He truly has a way to make the patient feel at ease. I didn’t have to wait at all, I got there and was to be seen immediately. Dr. Fitzgerald clearly explained the procedure and got right to work. The procedure was painless and today I am feeling so much better. I would recommend Dr. Fitzgerald to anyone in need of any type of oral surgery.
