The Barre Code

I’m obsessed with barre code park ridge! Thanks to this place I’m at my healthiest! They change the routines every single class I’m never bored! And that was my big struggle! The owner Jestina is amazing and really cares about her clients I love all the instructors! I absolutely love taking Veronicas classes she is so motivating and kicks your butt you can tell she loves what she does! I highly recommend barre code!

Love this place! The have a great variety of classes and times. I wish they had more weekend classes that were not so early in the day. Plenty of street parking and lot across the street. I think that for the monthly price you pay, towels should be offered at no extra cost.

I took away a star because they NEVER answer the phone or answer emails. I just got an email back saying my email wasn’t delivered because their mailbox is full… what? I called Evanston to see if this was an issue everywhere, and they answered right away… c’mon guys simple fix.
Anyways, I do LOVE this place. I hate working out with a passion so I knew that I had to sign up and pay for something in order to force myself to go. I need a low impact type workout class for my absolute awful knees and figured I would try this. So far I have tried Barre Code and Baryasa for in between when I’m super sore. I really love both of them and have my first TBC class tonight and Brawl class coming up. The classes FLY by and if you need to modify workouts they always give you that option. I signed up for the New member unlimited month for $ 80. It is completely worth it if you plan on going multiple times a week.
I read on here first where it was, since the address just implied it would be hidden. It is right next to Subway on the same side as the Pickwick. I park across the street at the Library since it is 3 hour parking.

Hm. Between 3.75 and 4 stars.
I consider myself a major barre code aficionado but I guess it depends on which studio you go to. I was a regular in Evanston but when they changed their schedule I thought I’d try this place, since it’s closer to home.
First off, the entrance is really hard to find. It’s in a second floor walk-​up, up some carpeted stairs that smell of old cigarette smoke. The actual studio itself is spacious (lots of bathrooms!) though the room where the class was held was a bit tiny and reminded me of a parking garage.
The receptionist didn’t seem to know what was going on, or if I should sign a form, but was friendly enough. The instructor for the TBC class was great, very energetic. I’ve definitely had better TBC classes – too much focus on shoulders for this one; my biceps and triceps didn’t get a workout at all – but I’ve also had worse ones.
I never thought I’d say this, but it might actually be worth your while to make a trip to the Evanston location over this one. This one isn’t bad by any stretch. But it is a bit hm.

By the numbers…
3: dressing/​changing rooms available by the front desk, set up next to a counter of cute movie star-​like mirrors and a counter top equipped with needs like q-​tips and hair ties.
2: individual bathrooms available, one in the front and one in the back
2: studios for class. The bigger one is rectangular in shape, and the smaller one is kind of zig zag Tetris Z-​shaped. It was definitely built to accommodate the structure of the building.
33 ½: the street number. Keep an eye out for a tiny entrance next to Subway.
50: minute duration of each class.
33: dollars I paid for a 3-​pack of classes via Groupon. Not sure how the regular class packages/​pricing shakes out.
Lots: not a number, but it describes the amount of merchandise available for purchase, like shirts, tanks, socks, and headbands.
Jestina is an energetic, motivating instructor! I’ve taken interval and barre classes here. I got my heart rate up, but it’s a workout regimen I’d go to once in a while vs. my primary exercise since I prefer more barbell strength movements and intense cardio. Very clean place!

Love the Barre Code! I have been coming since late July and I have noticed quite a difference in my muscle definition. I have always been an avid runner and shredder (Shred 451), but I needed to change up my workouts due to a calf injury. Shred is great in small doses, but Barre Code makes me feel stronger and more fulfilled with my workouts. Barre Code is my new addiction. I truly look forward to going to class. All the instructors are super-​motivating too. Jestina, Lauren, Erica, Veronica, Michelle, and Kaitlin are amazing! The instructors push you to your max and remind you why you came in the first place. ;) Thanks for being a part of my daily routine!

So I’ve been to quite a few classes already and all i can say is i love it! I always needed and looked for something like this where you have an instructor who pushes you and shows you what to do! I can say every class i feel like i kicked butt and leave drenched in sweat compared to going to workout at the gym. There only 50 minute classes which works out great with my schedule and you really work every minute to its fullest. If you are looking for motivation and a great workout i feel like this is the perfect place to go! I usually go mornings 8/​9am classes with Veronica or Michelle!

As a regular now, I love this place! It’s my home away from home (and work). I do the early morning classes with either Veronica or Kaitlin. I’ve also done a few with Jestina– she’s a beast! I think the studio is cute, clean, and well-​organized. The instructors and front desk staff are all phenomenal and very friendly. I never felt like an outsider even when I was the newbee. I love the fun, positive atmosphere of women motivating each other to push harder and longer.
The classes I have taken are barre code, brawl, TBC, and interval. I would recommend them all and read-​up on the app about what they entail. Each have their own format as far as the mixture and timing of strength-​training, cardio, and stretching. I think they do well with rotating the classes and times so that there are many options available. Some are more intense than others but after 6 months I am yet to walk out of class without sweat.
They do well at changing their programs, classes, and music which I appreciate because that can get monotonous after going 5 days a week every week. Classes are 50 minutes long which works perfectly with my schedule. There are always modifications offered for those who may have injuries or are not at more intense levels of training. Basically, I see women of EVERY level at these classes which I think it’s great because it really is a work-​out for everyone.
My only downside is the studio is small and there are no showers but there are changing rooms and mirrors with some cosmetic refreshers available.
Highly recommend checking out this upbeat, challenging method of exercise!

I was a regular at Jestina’s lunchtime Loop classes and was beyond excited when I found out she was opening her own Barre Code. Oh, and right by my parent’s house, too, so it gives me another excuse to visit ;)
They offer pretty much the same variety of classes as the city studios, so you can get your Barre Code, Baryasa, Interval, Barre-​dio, and TBC on. I took their standby, Barre Code, which targets the arms, abs, thighs, and seat, with Jestina, and it was just as hard as I remembered. I’ve also done Barre-​dio and Interval, both of which mix extended cardio intervals with barre — perfect for when you’re in a treadmill or elliptical rut. My ninja butt loves Brawl, which mixes kickboxing with barre. Baryasa is a chill vinyasa class that utilizes the bar to help you get your stretch on. My new fave is TBC, which is more bootcampy and works with higher weights. I took this class with Lauren and loved it — she had perfect form and is super energetic and motivating.
As a brand new studio the walls and floors are a gorgeous light gray and it feels über airy and light. Oh, and budget time to check out their kick ass retail — from cute grippy socks, to gorgeous tanks and comfy hoodies, you’ll look like a barre babe in no time!

This is such a cute studio! I found it through Classpass and tried out Barre Code with Jestina who helped me check in and gave me a quick tour before the class. It’s a great class for all levels, and she is extremely motivating throughout the whole class. You really feel the burn! Note that on classpass the address shows as 1 S. Prospect however it is located at 33 as stated on Unilocal

You WILL sweat here! But, that’s a good thing. I live nearby and decided to try it because my alternative of Lifetime Fitness is a 45 min round trip. In the past I was never into classes, but I was hooked from the first one — each class is a bit different, works out different muscles. I’m in pain when I’m leaving and often feel it the next day — again, a good thing! Instructors are friendly and know their stuff. Parking not always great as its a busier area with shops etc and the smell of baking bread from the Subway next door as you’re leaving class is a bit of a torture but you can’t now ruin that great workout with bread!

Love, love, love The Barre Code. I’ve been to many classes and many gyms over the years and this is by far my favorite. I’m addicted to working out here. There is a wide variety of classes and the instructors are always switching things up so I never get bored. The instructors are all friendly and inspiring — they really want you to get in a good workout during your 50 minutes. Moves are easy to modify and adjust to various fitness levels. The atmosphere in the studio is very welcoming and I’ve met some great people. If you want your butt kicked– sign up for Jestina or Veronica’s class– you’re muscles might complain the next day– but you won’t be sorry.

I love the convenience of having this studio so close by. The classes are challenging and always make me sweat. I definitely feel like I worked out after I leave. The instructors are enthusiastic and knowledgeable. They put their own spin on the Barre classes which is the only thing I don’t like. I prefer a more traditional Barre class. Overall the studio is a good place to get a work out.

Love the Barre Code in Park Ridge! These classes are so unique, high energy, and give you a killer workout! So far I have taken Barre and Brawl classes with Veronica! She is an awesome motivator and makes a you feel right at home. I highly recommend these classes if you’re looking for a new workout routine, that targets specific muscles, and leaves you feeling super accomplished. Plus the music, lights, and designs are really fun.

LOVE THE BARRE CODE! A few months ago I had such a hard time getting myself to work out, i tried barre code and am now addicted! The 50 minute routines will leave you SHAKING every time. I can already see changes in my body after only a few short months. The instructors are SO helpful, make classes fun and exciting and you can tell they all really love their job. All the instructors are FABULOUS but I recommend taking one of Kaitlin’s classes! She is super motivating and will truly push you to your limit. Such a fun and happy atmosphere, also so many different pricing options to work with what you need and lots of different classes at different times to work with your schedule! Book a class at Barre Code Park Ridge, you WILL NOT regret it!

the BEST workout craze out there. The classes will definitely push you to your limits but the awesome instructors make 50 minutes of sweating fly by! Seriously try this place out, you will be sore but you won’t regret it!

Absolutely loved the classes I took here! I bought the 3-​class Groupon and emailed them (using the email provided on the groupon) to schedule my first class. When I showed up for my first class, they redeemed my groupon and from there, I was able to sign up for my next two classes online without having to worry about the payment page. They were very helpful in showing me exactly how to do this.
Okay, now for the classes! The first class I tried was Barre Code with Jestina. I was really nervous bc I am not in the best shape but she explains each move/​exercise and makes you feel comfortable. It was a great workout and I left feeling sore (the good kind of sore!). The next class I took was Barre-​dio with Kelly. Another great class that combines cardio-​dance moves with strength training. I think I felt the most sore after this class, but again, the good kind of sore — like I was getting a really great workout. The last class I tried was Brawl with Veronica. This class is intense with both kickboxing at a fast pace and strength training but Veronica is very motivating! I absolutely loved this class!
Needless to say, I am going to purchase a monthly membership. I loved these classes because not only did I get a great workout, but it was really fun! They play fun, fast-​paced music to keep you going and are very positive and motivating. I was surprised at how fast each class flew by! I am a new Barre Code addict!

I bought a Groupon to try this place out. I followed the instructions on the Groupon and called the phone number listed to schedule a class. No one answered so I left a message to call me back because I wanted to get a class in that weekend. A week later, still no call back. Luckily I was able to cancel my Groupon, but kind of annoyed by how unprofessional these people are. Bummed.
