Nelson is a great, honest broker. He was easy to work with, fairly responsive, and knowledgeable. He worked with us to find the right Park Slope apartment within our price range. We know there are a lot of terrible, pushy agents out there, and it was nice to have such a great experience on our first NYC apartment hunt.

He was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, very punctual, responsible and someone you can trust — pretty much everything you could ask for in looking for an agent. I need to preface this review to help you understand just how good Nelson is at what he does. Just before I met Nelson, I’d been going through a rather harried month: I received a month’s notice that my rent was going up by $ 1,000 a month due to market adjustment of the building, I was going to apt after apt of places that were JUST rented out to someone else, and lastly, I got scammed out of an apt (and my deposit) along with about 15 other victims. So, now, I have 10 days to find a place to stay and a moving company anxious for an address. Nelson to the rescue. It started very unassuming, but I soon find Nelson is going out of his way to show me an apt, despite my tardiness. Next, he makes arrangements to coordinate the lease signing to minimize inconvenience for me, waiting around with me to get notarization. He puts me at ease by allowing me to photo his broker license and answering all my questions, and makes sure the apt is swept up before I move in. On my big moving day, Nelson even stops by to give me an extra pair of keys and check in on me to make sure I’m okay. It’s been two months now, and he still checks in on me to make sure I’m happy and comfortable. Who does that?!? I was living in a luxury apartment before this, and no one ever provided this much attention during my years there. Would I recommend him to my friends or those moving to New York? Absolutely, and above all the other rental brokers I’ve worked with. I know he’d provide solid attention to the entire process and follow up with his clients. He’s honest, compassionate, efficient, and goes the extra mile. It’s clear to me that Nelson is someone who relies on the quality of his work to speak for him, and his work speaks well. He was great and found us an apartment but… he initially, verbally, told us that the broker fee was paid by the owner and the day before my wife was to leave from Arkansas, he requested 3 checks, 2 for 1^st and last months rent and one for his fee. We had jobs lined up and relied on this apartment as a place to live. I inquired with him about it, and I had refer him to his website that proved my claim. It said «no broker fee». Either way, we had no choice. He was great and helped us find a place but it cost us money. This is a $ 2400 review!

Nelson helped us find a place in the full-​contact sport of NYC apartment hunting. And when I was offered a job in L.A. long before our lease was up, he was extremely helpful in helping us find someone to take over our lease. He showed up the same day to get the process started, and we found someone very quickly. It was an overall pleasant experience, and Nelson was a great help.

Nelson is amazing. He’s probably the first person I’ve worked with to find an apartment in New York who I actually felt was trustworthy, professional, and above all things, interested in helping me find the perfect apartment for me. He’s not pushy or trying to sell you, he’s just trying to help you find what you want and will show you the same apartment 400 times at whatever time of day to make sure you are happy.
He was incredibly responsive to every call, email, and text. He also put together an application process online to make everything easier. We applied over the weekend and by Monday morning we knew we were approved and had the apartment. Even after we had the apartment and were there for a while, Nelson made sure to follow up and make sure everything was going well.
On top of all that, Nelson is a very likeable, personable guy who you can actually feel comfortable around. I would recommend Nelson 100 times over — you can’t go wrong.

Unlike so many people working in real estate, Nelson comes across as very likable and trustworthy.
We worked with him on our recent move to NYC, and he was incredibly professional, punctual, candid, and friendly. He responded very quickly via email and text (even on a Saturday night!), and when one option didn’t work out for us, he had another option for us immediately. Further, the entire application process was online, so there is no panic surrounding downloading/​signing/​faxing/​re-​faxing forms, which can be annoying.
I would gladly work with Nelson again, but in the meantime, I would happily meet him for drinks: a sure sign that he didn’t come across as «salesman-​y» in the slightest.

Just moved from Chicago to Park Slope, and this couldn’t have been a better/​easier experience! Found Nelson’s listing through Craigslist, and quickly realized how quality each of his listings were– and in our price range!
Long story short, we secured our Park Slope apartment from Chicago, without seeing it for ourselves (had a friend check it out). Risky, yes, but Nelson was incredibly helpful, informative, flexible, and responsive the entire time. We are so pleased with our apartment, and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Looking for a new place is stressful enough– and Nelson completely took care of everything we needed, which made the process not only bearable, but easy.

Nelson is very straightforward, honest and easy to work with. Before I found Nelson and the apartment I now live in, earlier that day I was literally in tears because of a broker from hell in Prospect Heights.
So working with Nelson was a breath of fresh air. He was straightforward and did what he said he’d do. When the apartment didn’t have a shower rod, he even offered to give us one from his apartment (the landlord ended up putting in a shower door, but I appreciated the gesture!). He was very prompt with responding, got everything taken care of and did what he said he would. I’m on a two-​year lease, without broker’s fee, which is amazing.
