I’m just copying the reference letter we wrote here, that’s why it sounds weird and formal. But I want you to know, internet stranger, how awesome Mario is. I do this cutting and pasting for you. W/​o further ado:
Mario of MG European Corp. has been such a pleasure to work with that we’re tempted to renovate rooms that don’t even need it, just to work with him again.
He does the work himself. He does exactly what he says he’s going to do, and he’s done when he says he’ll be done. He finished our six-​week project a week early. He cleaned every day on his way out; we joked that he left our house neater than he found it. And he’s pleasant to be around, which isn’t unimportant when someone’s going to be in your space for 12 hours a day.
Our project was a bathroom gut do-​over, expanding it through two closets and an air shaft, plus work in the kitchen and surrounding hallways; he also built an entirely new bathroom and laundry area in the basement. We’re 100% pleased with the results. From the guts to the lightswitches, every detail is precise and beautiful. He anticipates and heads off future issues. Every single thing is done right the first time. His tile work is flawless; our plumber says it’s some of the nicest work he’s ever seen.
We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have found Mario. Periodically during the work we’d say something — «Wow, that looks great» — and he’d always shrug and say «I’m just trying to do the right thing.» He’s the right contractor to hire if you’d like the right thing done.
