Part of the Colorado Trail, Kenosha Pass toward Goldhill has fantastic views of South Park Valley and the Rockies. We hiked out 2 miles to a clearing with great views of the valley(4 miles total out and back) and took about 2 hours. Would rate as easy — some uphill and rocky areas, but nothing too steep. This trailhead is easily accessible by car east off Hwy 285 with parking available at the trailhead(before the campground/picnic area) and restrooms available.

Beautiful pass for fall or spring colors. Lots of options for hiking & even camping. Pretty in the winter as well, but bring snow shoes or cross-country skis as the snow gets deep!

My family and I just went here yesterday to see the Fall colors. It was breathtaking! We didn’t want to drive too far away on I-70 so decided to go to Kenosha Pass and it did not disappoint! I can’t believe I’ve lived in Colorado all this time and never made the time to go here earlier! We have small children and the hike was suitable for them as well. I think this will be a yearly deal for us from now on! The drive was supposed to be 1.5 hours but we went on a day they had a motorcycle ride along C-470 and 285, but it wasn’t that bad… only added maybe another 30 – 40 mins to our drive but I didn’t mind too much since the drive there was filled with beautiful trees along the way!

The trees, and colors, and hikes, oh my! Kenosha Pass is well worth the drive anytime during September. It gives stunningly beautiful views that can’t be beat for just an hour drive outside of Denver. The small lake is lovely to walk around, and several trails will take you right smack dab though the Aspens. Longer trails will lead you right up against the rolling hills. Kenosha has a lovely looking campsite, and is a great place to take small children for day hikes. Everyone had small children toddling around the day I went. You can not go wrong with a short or long day viewing Kenosha Pass!

Breathtaking Fall Colors. Out of many passes we visited in September 2014, Kenosha was one of the favorite pass. Lots of parking along the road, and we can also take car inside the gravel road. Entire mountain was flooded with fall color. Hiking is fun with leaves falling with slightest of wind. Must visit for Fall

This is an amazing spot to go for Fall colors, specifically aspens! I was just so great to go walking through all the trees with the sunlight glistening off the leafs. It was pretty magical! I took several photos but I don’t think those really do justice. Also, if you are into hiking you could take the Colorado Trail for about 10 miles where you come across different patches of aspens and where you get some great views. This area is especially great if you’re into photography. I saw many people with tripods taking all sorts of photos. I had my SLR with me as well. This is definitely worth it if you’re looking to spend an afternoon enjoying the fall colors, hiking, and/or taking photography!
