Advanced Pediatric Associates

Our family has been going to this facility since 1978. They have changed their name and address over the years but it is the same place. Up until the last year our experience has been excellent.
We took our Granddaughter to see Dr. Nancy J. McDermott MD for a stomach problem this week. We were insulted and she is one of the rudest Physicians we have had the misfortune to meet in years.
First, our 12 year old had a stomach problem so severe, she had been vomiting and was in severe distress. This had been going on for about a week. McDermott did nothing but spend about 30 seconds with her and told her «get back to school» and «You can eat anything». She refused to give her any medication to settle her stomach and then threw some pills at her which were nothing more that vitamin supplements which contained fish oil! She demanded to know from our 12 year old Granddaughter was even gong to take them and started grilling her. Our Granddaughter is a straight «A» student and holds State championships in dance and baton.
While were were there, we asked that she sign off on a sports physical form and it should be noted she had been in a couple of times for other problems and a complete check up had been done. McDermott refused until a complete physical had been done even though one had been done a short time before. She then went onto a rampage about how it was not just a «money maker» for the practice but must be done. You should review the AMA guidelines that challenge the need for complete physicals on a regular basis when there are no apparent problems. This practice demands regular physicals on healthy children which is contrary to AMA guidelines.
Finally, she went into a tirade about how great Obama Care was and how she loved it. I could care less about her political views and she should keep them to herself.
We will be looking for another doctor who will actually address the issue at hand and treat their parents with respect.

Dr. Nancy McDermott is the best! She was unbelievable with my little bear! Thank you and we look forward to bringing our future children here as well.
