Jeff and I wandered in here on Sunday trying to escape the football game noise that we found everywhere else! It was wonderful! Only music playing quietly in the background and hushed voices talking about great wine. I could have cried. We started off with a glass of their Zin. While not my favorite grape, the wine was alright. We continued with a tasting. I have to say, I was floored by their Chardonnay. See, I am not a fan of white wines. They usually taste bland to me. But their chard was fantastic! I was told it was because they use steel barrels. We bought a bottle and are saving it for the first warm spring evening so we can enjoy it on our patio. Of the reds my favorite was the malbec but the sangiovese was a close second. We took a bottle of the malbec home with us. The gentleman working was very friendly and knowledgeable. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they use Colorado grapes as often as possible. I’m sure that we will be back to stock up on some more wine!

Pulling in to a parking lot looking for a brewery and finding a winery next door is one of the best and worst ideas ever. We love our wine and were excited to discover this little gem. The owner was pouring some wines and even had a half price special on glasses of Malbec, which happens to be one of our favorites. After enjoying that we went down the tasting list for reds and whites. Jess even found a white she liked enough to take home, the Roussanne. The sangiovese stood out as well. It’s a nice little place, very homey and cozy. They also have an old clay urn that is usually aging a delicious concoction. The little mini tour around the wines and the room made for a great experience, and the service was excellent. I will be back for sure. Cheers!

My wife had her Halloween themed book club party at Purgatory Cellars last week. They were beyond accommodating for her event and even let me bring in food for the ladies dine on. As for the wine, having lived in Temecula and the Bay Area, I’ve tasted my share of wine. I will say with complete confidence that their wines are bold with tastes so unique, they compare to few I’ve ever tasted. The ambiance is really neat too… tough to describe but I encourage you to go check it out yourself.

Best gem in Parker. Amazing wines that even a person that is not a wine person will enjoy. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

Really good wine and you can tell they are passionate about what they do. I’m looking forward to when they start a wine club and/or offer incentives such as ‘buy a bottle, get your tasting free.’ Otherwise, it was a bit more than I was willing to spend but I’ll definitely go back and try them again in the future.

Cozy and friendly. They have great tastings and will give in-depth descriptions of the wines you’re about to taste. I’m excited to experience their wines as they get more settled in their space. We brought home a couple of bottles and this is our new spot for having wine. When you go, allow plenty of time to have an experience. No need to rush this one.

I’ll never go to Vines again! Just 6 blocks away from downtown Parker is thia little gem where the wine is wonderful, you MEET the winemaker, the service/support knows all about wine and is totally ON. Add great music in the background and a gorgeous setting. What more can you ask for?! And such a marked contract to the service & price point of that wine place on the corner in Parker… Two BIG Thumbs Up for Purgatory Cellars Winery!

I have been here a couple times now. The place has extensive hours of operation, so that makes it rather convenient to drop by. The Purgatory tasting room has been open since April. Since I don’t visit Elk Mountain Brewery as much as I used to, it was a pleasant surprise to find this place on the other end of the building. Marko and Ivanka are the couple who own and run this place. On my visits here, I have very much enjoyed talking with them. The interior here is beautiful. Everything is done in tasteful woods with solid chairs, tables, and leather couches. Indeed, Marko actually built a significant amount of the furniture. He explained to me how he rubbed the wood with beeswax three separate times to get such a smooth finish. It was hard to keep from caressing the furniture while drinking the wine. As for the wine itself, I enjoyed pretty much everything I had. The prices for a flight of wine are quite reasonable considering how many one gets to sample. I honestly did not try one that I did not enjoy. However, I found the Malbec and the Petite Sirah to be particularly to my liking among the Reds. As for the Whites, I liked the Chardonnay so much that I took a bottle of it to a party. I also enjoyed the Riesling, and the very sweet and delicious Ice Wine must be tried. Parker is lucky to have such a fine winery rubbing shoulders with their oldest brewery.
