Have never had a bad meal here. Excellent meat selection from bison and venison to shrimp and tuna… all well prepared. Unusual setting, no doubt, but it does not disappoint.

We ate here after we got engaged two years ago. My husband planned an amazingly romantic night for our first wedding anniversary here tonight because of this. He called and had champagne ready to be served and all that. I didn’t even know. It was going to be a huge surprise! I’d been sick and in the ER with heart stuff so this really meant a lot. Anywho… I wasn’t feeling well still but was trying to rally, so my sweet husband pushed back our reservation and he said the girl sounded off but was all happy to push it back to 9pm for us because they don’t close till 10pm. I was getting ready and he went to secretly call them to make sure it’d all be good to go. The girl now had a TOTALLY different attitude and told him they close at 9. Which wasn’t what we were told or what Unilocal states either. She said we’d have to be there before nine and got extremely rude with my husband. He told her he’d called to make sure it was ok a couple hours prior and they’d okd the reservation. She just got worse. He tried explaining it was our anniversary and again she just got more snooty with him. To the point he was so upset he told me all the surprises he’d planned. There was no way we were going to make it into a restaurant that was already treating us so badly so the night could just get worse. We didn’t feel like eating spit. It was all just so bizarre. I feel bad for the servers there if this is how the hosts treat their people. Maybe they’d be busier… I know they missed a massive tip tonight. It was gonna be a big night for us! They literally ruined our 1st year wedding anniversary celebration. Our first… There was no way we could have made it any earlier which was why we’d called to switch it. To make sure it was ok… So now it’s our first wedding anniversary and I’ve cried all night and neither one of us has eaten. I’d rather pay a little more and go to Shanahan’s or Brooks, to not have our night ruined next time. We will be stopping this tradition as of this year as it has become a horribly negative memory now. I’m just in shock of how that girl treated my husband. And she’s the one who said 9 was ok originally… It doesn’t make sense that she got so vile. I don’t know if her dog died in between or what but it’s not ok to treat customers that way. And it’s not ok to lose money for your coworkers pockets and the business you work at. We tried to call to talk to a manager and no one would even answer and they weren’t closed yet. The hotel attached even tried to ring them for us. We left a message for the manager to please call us but my husband is so upset he is going down there personally. This review is pending editing depending on outcome of that conversation with the manager.

My wife and I love this place. The service can be agonizingly slow when they are busy but we always enjoy ourselves anyway. Always seems to be live entertainment and the food has never been less than excellent.

As there are few nicer restaurants in Parker, we went here for our anniversary, since we did not have time to drive into Denver. First. Its noisy. Very noisy. So if you want to have a conversation while you dine, choose somewhere else. Second. We called ahead, reserved a table with a view etc… When we got there, we waited 15 minutes, and our table had no view. Yet some folks who strolled in with their 4 year old daughter got the next table with the view. Huh? Third. I love a good steak. This was not a good steak. This one was overdone, and lacked flavor. A good steak needs no A1. I think they rely on the novelty of their«cook your steak on a rock» for their customer base, and therefore don’t hire an experienced chef. Just a thought. Fourth. Our waitress was either disinterested, or just plain rude. She reminded me when you walk into a high end store where all the items are $ 500 and up, and even though they have to work there, and you are shopping, they behave as though they were the cat’s meow, and you were a stray dog. She got snippy with me when I asked if there was any other side I could have other than a baked potato(I have wheat and dairy allergies). She said, «NO.Like I said, You. Can. Have. The. Baked. Potato» I was just stunned. We were going to leave, but it was late, and did not have time to hunt for another place. As I said, the food was just average. But the prices were above average. We will not return.

I made reservations for our anniversary because I saw wonderful ratings. They were very nice and sat us immediately to our table. For the next 30 minutes we sat there with no one acknowledging that we were there. My wife and I decided to leave and no one acknowledged us on the way out. I was pretty frustrated at that point so I called after we had left and asked to speak to the manager and was refused. We ended up going to Del Friscos and got great service. Wanted to add an update: The GM did email a couple of days later offering a gift card to come back. I thought it was a nice of them.

Trapper’s is an excellent example of a upper-mid — high-end steakhouse. I went here with a group of 6 for dinner and couldn’t have been more impressed. I enjoyed every facet of my meal. The server was amazing, I wish I would have asked him for his name again as he was possibly one of the best I have had the pleasure of dining with. Not only did he quickly handle any requests, he also let us know which menu items to avoid, which I really appreciated as it is rare to get such honesty from a server. He also was very entertaining and made sure we all had a laugh along with out meal. The food was as good if not better than the service. First, the Tuna apetizer was the best I have found this far from the ocean, and the Spinach and Arugula salad was fantastic, the Ceasar salad was exactly what I would expect from a steakhouse. I, along with my wife, ordered the romancing the stone meal that includes a 700 degree lava stone, the meat arrives seared and then you can finish the cook to your liking. I ordered the game tasting and was impressed with all the meat(Buffalo, Lamb, Elk, and Venison), the only reason I did not rate this location 5 stars is that for 45 dollars I would expect a little more than 8 total ounces of meat, but I still left full as the vegetables and potatoes were also fantastic. My wife also had King Crab, which was cooked perfectly and delicious. I am normally not a fan of sweets or desserts, but I was very pleased with the dessert, we had the Espresso Crème Brule, and it was very good. Overall, I really enjoyed eating at Trappers and would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a nice romantic meal or an upscale dining option with a little different twist.

I went to Trappers Chop House Friday 8 – 10. We had a gift card for $ 50 from . We sat at the bar and Crystal was our server. We told her about the gift card before we ordered just to confirm. We had 2 drinks each. Onion rings for a appetizer. A hamburger & I ordered Chicken pasta for dinner. When the bill came it was $ 57.78& I tipped $ 12 on the full amount. I put the difference after the $ 50 gift card was deducted on my bank card $ 19.78 total. Today as I was reviewing my bank account I see another charge for $ 12 pending. .no way! Beware of fraudulent charges if you use a card! I am working with my bank & emailed Trappers to get the $ 12 additional charge refunded. Also, Trappers says it has a happy hour buffet for Free with drink purchase M-F 5pm until 7pm which they DON’T! Disappointed to say the least 1 star only for the effort!

Trapper’s does not have the elegance of Brooks, Del Frisco, Flemings, etc… but it also doesn’t come with the price tag. The food is very good, and the service is good, too. We were surprised that it was a little louder than we expected, but not uncomfortable — we could still hear each other without raising our voices. Both of us went with the bone-in ribeye. Tasted great, cooked to the temperature we specified, and significantly less expensive than those other steakhouses that I mentioned(and I’m a fan of those steakhouses, too). We would definitely visit again. Tempted in that Romancing the Stone with the different«game» options.

My daughter treated me to a wonderful Mother’s Day dinner. Upon arriving, I was presented with a beautiful long stem pink rose. We decided to split a ‘Build Your Own Bonanza’(add $ 4 more to split, but you each get the veggies and potato). You create your own mixed grill on one of Trapper’s signature volcanic hot rocks. We chose 3 items: 5 oz. Buffalo Sirloin, 4 oz. Filet Mignon, and the 4 oz. Elk. Your dinner is served with the vegetable trio and choice of potato. Kristen wanted the jalapeño & cheddar mashed potatoes, while I decided on the roasted potatoes. We also split a Caesar salad. We asked for no anchovies on the salad. The good: We were brought a basket of potato rosemary and sourdough breads. Of the two breads, we liked the potato rosemary the best! Our salad was fresh and tasty. Our dinner was delish! The fillet was probably the most tender and delicious fillet we’ve EVER eaten. I had never eaten buffalo or elk before, so I didn’t know what to expect. The buffalo was sooooooo good and tender. The elk was good, but I much preferred the other two meats more. We had a total of 13 ounces of meat and it was plenty for the two of us. Your meats choices are seared on the outside and red on the inside; so you thinly slice your meats and put the pieces on the volcanic rock to cook to the way you enjoy eating it. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The bread pudding was very good but came with only a teeny, tiny drizzle of homemade carmel sauce. Thankfully we had ice cream to eat with the bread pudding; gave it some creaminess. We both thought that the bread pudding would be outstanding with a substantial amount a sauce on it; perhaps a nice vanilla bean sauce. Over all, the dinner was outstanding. We both rated it at 5 stars. The disappointments: We had a candle centerpiece on our table but it wasn’t lit, like other tables. We asked our waiter to light the candle, but he never did. :(We had requested that our Caesar salads be void of anchovies… we had anchovies. :(When our dinner arrived, my roasted potatoes looked amazingly like mashed potatoes. Oooops. They did eventually get the roasted potatoes to me. :(And last but not least, the gift certificate that we gave our server when we ordered our meal, the discount was not applied to our bill. :(Those 4 boo-boos were a bit of a disappointment. Minus 1 star. Overall, food = outstanding; service = could be better; atmosphere = a little bit dated. Still it was a wonderful Mother’s Day dinner.

Service was great but food was not worth it. I have oredered medium rare filet minon and meat itself didn’t taste like it was fresh. I am very sensitive w/smell and taste… and it is my first time not being able to finish my steak. I don’t think i’m going to come back to this restaurant… I’ll stick with The Keg steakhouse until I find another steakhouse. Although my meal wasn’t good… My drink«raspberry tart» cocktail was good.

I love me some Trappers… One of the best steakhouses in all of Colorado. It has the taste and experience of Shanahan’s with smaller price tag. I definitely recommend this place and I cannot wait to come back!

My second visit to this recommended steak house was as good as the first. My lady ordered«Romancing the Stone», a Trapper’s specialty with Filet Mignon. it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I ordered the Angus beef steak with the house salad, plus a glass of the house-recommended Chardonnay. Dessert for two was chocolate cake with a side or ice cream. Topped dinner off with a cup of the house coffee. Trapper’s is an excellent choice when fine food and wine are in order. Excellent ambience for couples; musicians play background music during dinner which adds nicely to the beautiful view of Parker and the Colorado Front Range.

Love the stones! Cook yourself a nice filet mignon and save what you can’t cook to cook nicely for leftovers without over heating it! Cody was a fantastic server being perfectly friendly and attentive to my high maintenance self. Great place all around!

My wife and I have been here three times. Never disappointed. The food and the service are first rate. While reading some of the reviews before posting my own makes me want to comment on a few. So what this place is in a hotel? You will never know you are on the top floor of a Holiday Inn! The views are awesome! This place can be on the top of a land fill and be great! So what they did not«give you» a complementary desert for«YOUR» special date! Want a song? Go to Texas Roadhouse! Have wild game for what… The First time in your life? Surprised you had an upset stomach? This is NOT a cheap restaurant. This is a great place to have an event or special day. If you have a steak and a bottle of wine and desert you are going to spend $ 100 a person. Worth every dollar. If you want cheap go to Texas Roadhouse and call ahead or stop by Waffle House. Great filet! Great service! Non-stop elevator service! You will not leave hungry!

Great late 1980’s steak house We had a BOGO free entrée They make their drinks strong. So if you’re looking for a great place for strong drinks. Apparently you live in the area 9th Friday and Saturdays they have a shuttle to and from your home. Got their portobello mushroom appetizer. It was just under room temp so we weren’t too thrilled. Their butter served with their bread is perfectly spreadable. Hate cold butter. Wished the bread would have been warmish. I got the Romancing the Stone Filet and my husband the 3 choice romancing the stone with the filet, tuna and shrimp. Romancing the Stone is a 700 degree stone you finish cooking your meats on. With your entrée you get your choice of Potatoe and a side of less than room temp vegetables. I used the stone to warm them up. With my entrée I got a very thick cut of filet. So consequently it’s actually a cold piece of meat. Even though I cooked it on the stone to medium rare the middle was still cold. They pre-sear the steak and place it in a fridge till its time to serve, for sure. Both of us used butter on the stone to add extra flavor. The filets were tender and my husband felt the tuna and shrimp were the best. This placed is Def overpriced. Thank god for the coupon. I will say you have to go at least once. I will just go the one time.

I’m not sure why this place get such good reviews. My wife and mother-in-law both ordered the same thing except one steak ordered medium and one rare. They both came out identical, very rare. I had the Mongolian Porkchop which was delicious but as I got near the bone the meat was completely raw(no exaggeration). Jalapeño mashed potatoes were delicious. Oven roasted herb potatoes reminding me of hashbrowns from a breakfast joint. The green beans were too spicy eat, at least to my palate. Several people were having the Romancing The Stone nearby. Looks good but the smoke coming off the stones was beginning to get annoying. The service was excellent. The host and wait staff seemed genuinely happy to see us. Ambience did not match the prices on the menu. Reminds me of a hotel banquet room(go figure) with tables thrown in and a fireplace in the middle. With a piano being played, and restaurant half empty, I could not hear my wife talking because the sound was bouncing around(flat roof) so bad. General feeling is this place is trying to be something it is not.

The fun thing about this restaurant is that it’s on the top floor of the hotel, so the view is stunning. That’s a plus given that the interior of Trapper’s is, while not unpleasant, getting a little dated. My server clearly knew her stuff but was a little pushy with the drinks and deserts in my opinion. She told me to be sure to save room for desert, dropped the desert menu off without a word after my meal, and then put on a big show of disappointment when I told her I’d disregarded her command. That being said, I was very happy with my meal. I know the«thing to do» at Trapper’s is to get the sear-it-yourself entrée, but I go out to eat as often as I do because I don’t trust myself with cooking, so instead I ordered a Steak Oscar from the boring side of the menu, which came with grilled veggies and yummy jalapeño cheddar mashed potatoes. I ordered my twin filets medium rare and they were cooked perfectly — a nice, crunchy sear on the outside, warm and red on the inside. The bernaise sauce mixed with the crab meat and steak juice was probably the best part of the whole meal. Overall, I’d say Trapper’s is worth going to if you’re in the area and is a lot of fun if you’re into the whole cook-your-own-food scene, but I probably won’t make another special trip across town.

First off, I am very particular about giving five stars to ANY restaurant, especially a steakhouse. Let me preface this review by saying it is based on VALUE and QUALITY of the food, service, and ambiance. Next, Trappers is definitely a hidden gem. What local would think about going into a hotel to get a steak? NOTME! If I didn’t have a coupon, I probably would have never went. However, I did, and this my fellow Unilocaler’s is one of the best moves I have made in a long time. The rib-eye is EXCEPTIONAL! The cut of meat you get and the quality of the cut of meat is definitely impressive and to top it off, the pricing is more than reasonable. If you went to an upscale steakhouse, you would easily pay $ 60 – 75 for the same meal you get here for half price. Along with the meat being quality, the sides are all great too. Everything from the baked potato to the jalapeño cheddar mashed potatoes. The ambiance is pretty good too. I have only sat at the bar and there are plenty of TV’s to keep you entertained and most of all the bartenders are very attentive to anything you need. I have to honestly say I have found a new favorite restaurant in SE Aurora/Parker. I have only been here two times, however; I have not only been satisfied with my experiences here, I have been impressed! It is less than 15 minutes from my house and would definitely like to see what it is like during happy hour and football season. For those of you that read the reviews that are less than stellar about Trappers, I would have to say, try it for yourself and make a decision based on your experience. This place is SOLID!

Bask in the ambiance. Bask in the ambiance. How unassuming to find a great steak house in a holiday inn express. Waaaa? In my Fozzie voice I know right. Well it’s on the 4th floor. And you feel like your not in Colorado anymore once you enter. It has a steakhouse feel but not so much so that they look down on you for not wearing a suit coat and tie. Plus they show sports on the TV but who cares about that. This restaurant invites you to actually conversate with your group. On to the food. They have happy hour for drinks. Tall blue moon for 5.00 I’m sold. I ordered the spinach strawberry vinaigrette salad with walnuts. Muy deliciouso. Wasn’t to heavy on the dressing and had the right amount strawberries. The bread, they bring you two types one is classic white bread. The other is more of a wheat I’m guessing. They slice it a little would be nice if they cut it all the way down or left a bread knife. I feel bad trying to hack it away then getting frustrated and just clawing at it like a eagle grasping a fish out of water. But the bread and soft butter is so good I could fill up on that and that alone. Dinner I went with the steak medium well. When it arrived oh boy. Perfectly done to my liking. A little pink with no blood. Nicely in proportion. Well seasoned no steak sauce needed and if you asked for it you don’t need to be eating here go to Denny’s. The chef would don a white glove and slap you for asking for steak sauce. The mashed potatoes had bits of skin in them I love that. And garlic and came with squash and asparagus and a carrot. Seems like the carrot wasn’t fully cooked but that’s OK. Garlic butter on the steak would of been a awesome accompaniment as well. DESSERT I ordered the bread pudding because I love it. OMG it was Devine. Piping hot and melted in my mouth on each bite. And it was a big slice. The service It’s great watching them navigate the restaurant quietly and so attentive. They know the menu and well and the wine and draft list. And they don’t serve pbr yuck thank goodness. It’s not a Texas steakhouse near Jim Bobs farm. Great experience with great company.
