A year ago this review would have been five stars. I like the place and they are friendly and they have some nice finds. In the past I made some good purchases and it was on my list of places to keep coming back to. This year I checked it out again and noticed that the prices went up to IMO an almost comical amount. Im not talking about the nice furniture downstairs that someone did work refinishing. Nope the stuff upstairs that needs a great deal of work to bring back to life, the stuff that is covered in decades of dust, dirt, and mouse feces. I have to say that when it comes to getting me to keep coming back it really comes down to the prices and Pheasant Run just doesn’t do it for me anymore. So when your ready to come back to Earth I will be more than willing to come in and spend some money…

I try to stop at Pheasant Run every time I go to Lancaster. Over the years, I have stopped at almost every antique store along 30, 41, 896, 926, etc.(taking various routes from the east, depending on where I’ve lived over the years). Pheasant Run has always felt a lot more laid back than other stores. There is normally only one person there, and I never feel pressured or like someone is watching me or breathing down my neck for a sale. Wonderful feeling compared to a number of other stores. I have been able to find some great bargains and unusual things at Pheasant Run, which I treasure as favored parts of our home décor. I found some really cool wood turnings a few years ago around Christmas time, but I had no idea what I would do with them. They had them displayed like primitive baubles along the top of a cupboard with a live garland and I couldn’t resist how great they looked. I almost bought them out. Last year I finally used them to ornament a pair of vintage mirrors in a mock-baroque look, and it felt like they were meant to be with the mirrors. I love seeing them every time I am in the room. I have always been so fascinated by the store on the ground floor because it is excellently decorated and done in extremely creative flair(their primitive-chic style is my thing), but I finally started going upstairs to the salvage area a few trips ago, and was really glad I did. Loads of treasures up there, and anyone who appreciates this stuff could spend hours digging. Very very cool. My husband is not normally one to get into antiques shopping like me, but Pheasant Run has a cat running around, and this draws my husband in every time, which I love. Kitty is so sweet too. I also love the eagles or hawks(?) on the masonry pillars at the house across the driveway… they look relatively new and I wish Pheasant Run would sell replicas of those. I love to park near them to get a closer look.
