Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School

Throughout my 4 years at Douglas, as we like to call it, I have met many interesting people from all sorts of backgrounds. I’ve had the opportunity to also study under 20+ professors as well. Douglas has really shaped me into who I am today. Many teachers here take pride in not only lecturing, but also mentoring students for the future that lies ahead.
As far as safety goes, Douglas is top-​notch with security guards at every corner. The school is fairly clean and well maintained. The population at Douglas is a huge melting pot. A majority white school with a prevalent amount of hispanic students and blacks as well. The classrooms offer state of the art teaching instruments such as smartboards and elmo systems which directly project documents on the board.
There are many sour teachers and students at this school but this is normal when speaking of Floridian high schools. Sports and extra curricular activities are plentiful here. We have solid sports teams for every sport and a multitude of clubs to fit anyone’s interests.
Overall I gave 3 stars because it kind of felt like jail, very strict students policies. A huge downfall is the lack of organization of the lunch periods. Thousands of students crammed in a medium size cafeteria does not make for a comfortable eating environment.
