First time camping at Hunter Lake Campground and our group had a wonderful time! The sites we private enough; however, they were not clearly labeled. The bathrooms were very, very clean and well stocked with paper products. The staff(Ann and her family) were friendly and talkative. Furthermore, Hunter Lake was great for swimming and there is floating dock that you can jump from into about 10 feet of water! Nearby the campground, is a lovely town(Livingston Manor) where our group enjoyed some Labor Day Fun with live music and a library book sell! Additionally, there is a nice State Forest(Mongaup) nearby with a super beautiful mountain top lake(Hodges Lake). Don’t forget to pack a lunch if you take the hike to Hodges Lake. I highly recommend this campground and will definitely visit again!

One of my favorite campgrounds! Peaceful, sites are well laid out. This is mostly a seasonal campground with just a few regular campsites. The lake is beautiful, a great place to take a nice swim. The owner Ann, is just wonderful, friendly and very helpful. We are repeat campers here, we’ve been there over a half dozen times. There is a campstore on site for ice, wood and basic essentials. This campground has some of the cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. There is even a clubhouse to get out of the weather if need be. Highly recommend this place, we will be back.

My husband and I(and our dog) tent camped here recently for the first time. We absolutely loved it. The bathrooms are completely spotless. I’ve never seen such clean bathrooms at a campground before. I also had hot water for the entire duration of my shower. The owner is an absolute delight. She was extremely helpful and friendly. The majority of people that camp there have been going there for years, which I think speaks volumes about the site itself and the people that run it. Yes, there is RV camping along with tent sites, I’m not sure why the other reviewer is bothered by that. Some of them do have golf carts to get around. Most golf carts only travel at a max of under 20mph, so I’m also not sure why he says they were«whipping around» like a race track. I certainly never saw any of them traveling at a high rate of speed. I also did not see any high intensity flood lights left on all night. If you’re going to be disrespectful and not follow the rules, then this campsite is not for you. Your dog needs to be leashed at all times. There was another couple camping near us that did not want to follow these rules. Hopefully they won’t be back. Quiet time begins at 11pm every night. If you plan on partying all night long and blasting your music, then this campsite is not for you. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to return.
