We have been loyal residents of and stayed with Midtown Towers(Forest City Managing Company) for 7 years. In March 2014 we have discovered bed bugs, the property management has been notified immediately. It is a mid December 2014 and the bed bugs are nowhere near to be gone. We had to call throughout the year reminding the property to follow up and do the treatments. In April 2014 we were told to throw away our bedroom set, pictures, lamps and a lot of personal belongings. Now we are told by the property office to throw away second bedroom set, which at this point is costing us over $ 1500. I am not an expert on bed bugs treatment but spraying the room for 10 minutes once a month does not seem to give any result. I probably could have done it myself. Our belongings have been bagged up, sealed and placed on a balcony for about 8 months now which is unacceptable way of living. We decided to move out due to the fact Forest City does not provide us with habitable housing. To which both property manager and Corporate office responded bed bugs aren’t dangerous for our health so we need to pay a fine for trying to get out of lease early. Bottom line, if you want to have bloody mattress, bed bugs bites all over your body and uncooperative management that does not respond your phone calls, Midtown Towers is a place for you! Good luck
