Not surprised that this place is closed. This was the spot to go to on a Friday night. Maybe even a Saturday. The crowd is young and the drinks are cheap. The outdoor patio was where the party was. The businesses and maybe even apartment units right where the patio area is probably complained of all the noise and people smoking.

I like this place, I was here for a birthday party on a Saturday. The service was amazing, I didn’t have to wait for anything. It was pretty large crowd that night too. I can say I give this place a 5STAR rating and I would definitely come back. Here is when things went wrong… The next day, Sunday. I did my online banking and I’ve noticed a funny charge on by card with the label of «72 north» so I gave them a call and they explained to me that it was just a charged that is hold on all cards that have opened a tab. Also they assured me that it will be gone by Tuesday, if not to give them a call back. So it was Tuesday… Guess what?!? I went on to do online banking and a red flag raised up blinking. Saying I have insufficient funds. I almost died -.- so I checked where the problem was and it was the 72 north transaction that had a triple digit dropped in my account. I try to stay calm and called 72 north, and they say they hope that it’s not they’re mistake so I called my bank. I explained to my bank what was happening and they fixed it. Guess what?! They said it was the 72 north transaction making a huge glitch in my account. I don’t know man. Seriously seems to me someone tried to credit fraud me or seriously over charged me. I don’t know if I’ll come back to this place of not but I know that I will probably not ever open a tab again.

i’ve never had a bad experience here. always good vibes and good people. drinks are on point! i rarely order mixed drinks, but whenever i do, they definitely don’t skimp on the alcohol. i loved their outdoor patio, especially during the summer. i wish i lived closer… i’d prolly frequent this spot more often

I could be a regular here, except the place was DEAD and not even the«Good» like Walking Dead; the bad«people walk in and see it’s SO dead they walk out» dead. If everyone that did that STAYED for 5 minutes they would see enough people in the place to stay themselves. The food is not bad the beer is priced well and they have live music 4 stars for all the above –1 star because I was the only one there on a Saturday evening

Roaming around old town and looking to something to celebrate a friends bday. We decided to peep out what I thought was McMurphy’s or the Dug Out below but to my surprise it’s now called 72 North. Show’s you how often I come out to Old Town these days. Anyway so we come up and the dude at the door tells us it’s now called 72 North, seemed mellow enough to have a few drinks so we all entered. Turned out it was club night and no cover that’s deal. The drinks were a little pricey but overall the vibe was cool, the music was pretty good, and the sweet spot when the crowd is ripe is around 11p cause before you knew it all sorts of peeps were up in it. Fine honey dips too. So if you in the Old town and doing a pub/club crawl try this spot it won’t cost you a cover. And they have an extra room downstairs, to chill, lounge and conversate.

Had been by here before… used to know a guy who bar-tended there. Anyhow was looking for a place to grab a quick drink. Ran into a guy at the door collecting for«Stick it to the ticket». Had a striking resemblance to Mr. Orange(Tim Roth) from Reservoir Dogs. Anyhow gave a little donation and stepped in. Scene: couple guys at the bar, one commenting rather loudly on the song being played by the dueling guitars on the small back corner stage. A leathery older lady in suit pants and suspenders slides along past me doing tricks with a lit up yo yo. I ordered a whiskey sour and beer and proceeded to drink in this melodies wafting through the air.

Music will make or break a place! This is why I LOVE72 North. I came here for the first time this Saturday, and had such a good night! The DJ was on point, playing old school and new school jams, especially good Hip-Hop and throwbacks. Toward the end of the night, he played songs that made you feel like you were in a backyard party. Good vibes & a diverse crowd trying to get their groove on. Drinks are strong(you’ve been warned) and service is good. One less star because… there’s only one restroom. Seriously? Not a smart idea for a line of drunk girls. Also, beware of creepers. not kidding.

I am very skeptical when it comes to trying out new places but I gave this one a shot! Went on a saturday arrived around 11ish Walked straight to the bouncer because there was no line. Gave him my ID and he asked for something else with my name on it. I wasn’t mad cuhz I do look young. So I guess they are somewhat strict. Walked through the bar and found the bathroom and there was a line. Minus one star cuhz there was only one bathroom stall. Kept exploring and realized there was a downstairs. My friends and I decided to stay there since it was spacious enough for like ten of us we took over the dance floor ! I’m a smoker so I decide to go and take my smoking break. It is very spacious outside and the air felt so good after all that dancing. I herd there’s sometime a dj out there which would have been cool but there wasn’t one when I went. I did not realize there was bar outside in the smoking area I guess there’s a certain time they open out there? Idk but the bartender was nice and gave me 4 shots for $ 20 of henny. First experience was awesome. Definitely well be bacc

Came in to watch the NFL season opener and was not disappointed. Plenty of seating options, plenty of TV’s and they sure strut their alcohol selection with no shame. Had to order at the bar but the bartender brought my order over to the booth(awesome). Ordered a Stella and wings… was NOT disappointed. Wings are meaty and tasty! Perfect crunch on the skin ad tender meat with perfect seasoning and sauce coverage. Plenty of carrots, celery and ranch and, napkins. Stella on tap was insanely cold, which sure made my insides happy given its been hotter than the devils asshole after an all male orgy. Place is wired for sports and from what I understand, it turns in to a club on the weekends. Definitely coming back on Sundays to watch the games and enjoy the wings with beer. Ps: try the leff. It’s awesome!

Definitely went on an off night. The DJ’s mixing skills were off. The music was off… which as a result made me want blow my head off. He was literally train-wrecking the entire time to the point where I wondered who would let this madness continue? I’ve heard slip-ups where the DJ redeemed themselves and proceeded onto smoother transitions throughout the entire night. There was none of that salvation going on whatsoever. It felt very uncomfortable to be in there.

We needed a place to go to after the JayZ/JT concert at the Rose Bowl and my Unilocal app directed me here. It was a pretty long walk and we were definitely ready for a drink. Too bad the bartender was like the slowest bartender ever! Both times we went in for a round it was the same story. And it wasn’t just our group that noticed he needed to pick up the pace. Other than that, it was a nice looking place with clean bathrooms and old school hip hop.

Let me just start by saying I never go out in Pasadena, but if this is what it’s normally like over there I ain’t ever going back! First off, this place has a lot of potential if they put a little more effort into marketing and sprucing up the place a bit. I remember from working at Panera Bread, the bathrooms can make or break a customer’s impression of the place. well let me tell you, they stunk! Needed to be cleaned for sure. The service was bad, me and a friend sat at a booth. He first ordered us drinks at the bar. Then the waitress would come to give us drinks occasionally when she wasn’t on her phone or sitting down somewhere talking to someone. Very unprofessional and needed to take her damn hoodie off. Like come on now, at least try to look presentable and earn your tips. My friend left a dollar on the table after the second drink and she had the nerve to pick it up in front of us and say thank you. Who the hell does this?! She definitely wasn’t getting any more tips after that. Music at first was cool with old school hip hop and some new. Then this weirdo old guy DJ came on and played way too much electronic music for my taste. There was a girl dressed very skimpy, I guess their version of a go-go dancer but she was totally unnecessary because the bar was not crowded at all. I felt embarrassed for her wearing a thong on stage and everyone just looking at her like WTF are you doing? Also, she was wearing NIKE cross trainer shoes… ummm where are the heels you dumbbbbbbbbie. SO weird. Then she walked off stage into the crowd with her BF like she wasn’t wearing that ridiculous ensemble. Very very weird to me. To top it all off these idiots turned on the lights and stopped the music at 1:30AM when the bar was supposed to close at 2AM. Very lame on their part. The only reason they even got two stars was because the drinks were descent and the first DJ was cool.

Forget this place. Never again. Watch the UFC anywhere but here. Yes, $ 5.00 at the door. Who cares. I would have given $ 50 for a waitress that night who actually knew what her job was suppose to be. A pack of wild monkeys would have provided better service. Warm beers and very few of them. Seriously embarrassed that I suggested this place to my friends. Never again. Oh… and the food sucked too.

I don’t generally review places I’ve only been to once, but I had a great time here last night so eff it why not? lol The layout is pretty nice there’s an indoor dancefloor and then an outdoor dance patio where I spent most of my night It’s pretty nice to be able to dance outside in the night air and not get hella sweaty. Maybe not everyone has this problem at clubs but for those of us who like to really«drop down and get ya eagle on» it’s a plus ;P Crowd: Pretty mixed, seemed there were a lot more guys than girls though. I thought it was funny another reviewer mentioned them all being short because one of the first things my BF mentioned when we walked in was that he was taller than most everyone there, and he’s only 5’10 or so LOL. However, there were no douchebags just all types of folks trying to get their groove on. Drinks: Definitely good and strong, though there doesn’t seem to be a standard pricing. One of the gyus I was with got charged $ 40 bucks for two adioses while I was only charged $ 20 bucks for a Long Island and a Tokyo Tea(All essentially the same drink just different mixer) and yet another friend was charged 14 bucks for just a Vodka Tonic so just be aware. Music: My favorite part. Old school hip hop, mixed with new club bangers and a side of ratchet music LOL. I’m not in Pasadena often but I’d definitely come to this spot again if I were.

So, I don’t know why 72 N. has only 3-Stars. I mean really? Lol. Hands down, every time I come here on a Saturday night, I always have a great time. Two experiences to share: one sober and one not-so-sober-because-it-was-my-birthday experience. FIRSTTHINGSFIRST: 1. WHATTOWEAR: CASUAL fits. You can throw on some heels, but then you’re doing too much. 2. NOCOVERFEE On both occasions, the music is great! A mesh between underground hiphop, to old school to today’s ratchet ass tunes. Shout Out to the DJ(Saturday nights) — you spin some dope ass shit! Less of that trance/house/edm crap, yay! Venue: the first time I went there was an outdoor patio that was larger than what it is now(under construction, apparently). And there were two DJs spinning outside and inside, different tunes. However, with slight construction outside patio(which is smaller now what I vaguely remember) it can be crowded inside. There are no windows so it gets jam packed on the dancefloor and you will sweat your ass off. and there maybe body rubbing action with a stranger because it’s that poppin’ on the floor! Lol, but no seriously, it’s small. The bar also has seatings(not too much) on the sides, but it ain’t like bottle service, it’s first come first serve. Restroom? You gotta hold your pee. siike! Just a long wait. So, I suggest you don’t break the seal, ha! Crowd Control: I’ve only been here on a Saturday night. The first time I went there were short dudes — ladies, I am so sorry. The second time, I don’t recall much height-wise but definitely a diverse group, which I loveeee! Not too AZN either, but genuinely a nice group of different races and nationalities partying here. Here and there you will see Ratchets, but they’re everywhere so no big deal. Lololol(oh I sound like a hater. Oh wells) Anyway, here’s my verdict: My place to get my dance on and for good vibes, forsure — sober or not!

This bar was pretty dope with good music inside and in the patio area in the back. Reminded me of my undergrad days at downtown Fullerton with the America’s Best Dance crew crowd in the back. Sorry folks but I just do not get down with the choreography but I was definitely breakin it down with both the old school and new school hip hop. No dubstep thank goodness! Also no cover, no strict dress code, and pretty stiff drinks – what’s not to like?. Drinks were a little on the pricey side for a casual bar but the bartenders in the back were very cool. I’d come back to this spot for sure seeing as we had to cut our night short due to a fire evacuation. Fun times regardless!

Not sure if I would really ever come back here on my own. Its not really my «type» of crowd, but my favorite part about this bar is that if you don’t feel like being inside, you can always go outside to the very open patio area where there is another DJ playing & another full bar to order from. The place wasn’t crowded the night I went… not dead, but not crowded.

this place is located off from the main street pasadena. so i thought it was going to be dead when i walked in… yep, it was pretty dead. no surprise. i felt bad for the DJ, since he was spinning to an empty dance floor… so my group on 6 occupied the dance floor and was trying to have a good time. i rarely go to hip-hop/rap clubs, so i was as awkward as a bear getting it on with a penguin… i was just standing there trying to get my groove on. while i was trying to get my dance on, i started to notice people coming from the back room… as time progressed, more and more people started to emerge from the bathroom area. and i thought to myself. wtf is back there? a separate room for a massive orgy/coke party… huh? what’s going on… so being the curious creature that i am, i ventured back there to see what all the action/fuss was all about. lo and behold, there was another dance floor(outside) with another DJ and another bar. it was PACKED. i suppose people wanted the fresh air… if i would to sum up this club/bar in one word: «Meh»

A good friend who I love dearly was in town and we wanted to meet up because it has been a minute!!! So, he mentioned one of his homey’s was promoting this place and so I was down to check it out. There were two DJs — one inside of the bar and the other on the patio. We primarily chilled outside. The music was cool. mostly old school hip hop and such. Vibe was upbeat with peoples dancing, drinking and people watching. The bartender on the patio didn’t skimp on the alcohol, she did the damn thing, so it was all good. So many Asians! I’m thinking it was because of the event; who knows but good looking crowd of folks. I met some new friends as well so the night was good. Would I go back? Perhaps if I’m in the area and peoples wanted to drink and dance with me. I just wonder who took our photos and where they be?
