Wish the establishment offers free wi-fi otherwise it is a good place to get my sweet tooth satisfied

Ordered a blueberry cheesecake and the Black Forest. They were both so good. The cake was just the right spongy-ness and the cheese cake was super fresh. Also ordered the red bean smoothie. Asked for no sugar and it was stated in capital letters on the cup but it was still sweet. I guess that what you should expect from a dessert place. Finally left with some baked goods. Super creative items. Can’t wait to try them!

Consistently wonderful. If you want authentic east Asian baked goods this is the place to go. I went to Hong Kong a few years ago and fell in love with the pastries. After graduation I moved to LA and was so pleased to find this place. Today I had a mushroom/onion/cheese bread and a Red Bean bun. Both were lovely! I also got a strawberry cake for my birthday tomorrow and I’m so excited to eat it!

This place is bread heaven! Although the doors are slightly heavy, there’s nothing like being greeted with the aroma of freshly-baked bread. My favorites include the decadent cream cheese filled berry tale, classic but oh so perfect brioche and one of a kind coconut twist that takes you to a tropical paradise with just the first bite. I just discovered the wheat bread with raisins and walnuts during my last visit. It’s a perfect combo — the juicy plump raisins melt into the bread and the walnuts give it a nice crunch. Plus, you get walnuts with every bite — definitely worth the $ 2.85. The bread is always fresh, fluffy and flavorful(just the right amount of sweetness). Don’t forget to get a sea salt iced coffee. Love at first sip!

This place is full of surprises. I haven’t tried their coffee bar, only their take out bakery items. Pros: + Fantastic value for money. Delicious pastries, breads, buns, cookies and other treats are $ 1.50 to $ 2 each and you can fill up a to-go bag for under $ 10. + I’m continually surprised by new menu items here even after coming here for a few weeks. The mangotale bun looks like a dinner roll with a mango dot on top, but when you open it up it has a wonderfully soft texture with a mango cream cheese filling inside… delightful. The choco bun looks like a pumpernickel roll, but is a wonderfully soft chocolate bread with a soft chocolate filling; also fantastic. + The macadamia white chocolate cookie is great; I detect a hint of coconut in their cookie dough but it works texture-wise. + Friendly and efficient staff. Cons: — This place can get busy and the line can get long inside. — Sometimes the signs are missing on the bakery items so you might have to track down an employee to ask what something is. Overall, this place is a great value for money and it has new bakery items I’ve never tried before anywhere else. This reminds me of a Taiwanese Porto’s.

Iced jasmine green tea with boba(no sugar) and a mango tail. Yumkins. My friend got the iced matcha latte and a red bean bun and she thoroughly enjoyed. Can’t wait to try more!

I love that this is in Old Town, though I do not love the crowds. The lines seem to move fairly quickly, though. It’s just the area where you pick up bread can be aggravating with people’s uncertainty. The breads cost about $.50 higher than similar breads I can get within a certain radius, but it really is nice and soft with good flavor. I like getting a few of these to snack on while walking around.

Came here on Christmas day to order a cake and five drinks for my family. I was very glad that they’re open but the same time, felt pretty bad for the employees who had to work on a holiday. Ordered the mango bread, the white chocolate bread, and the sweet(strawberry)Teddy cake. Superb and affordable pastries are pretty consistent here. The drinks, however, were pretty inconsistent. The sea salt ice coffee has this aftertaste that tastes weird and makes me feel like I have to go to the John but then I don’t really have to. I don’t appreciate the false alarm! Normally I wouldn’t complain but I feel compelled to report horrible service from the one employee, the one who calls out the order numbers. Anyways, pretty appalled by the service as we inquired for some saucers or plates for the cake. The girl snarled back, saying«I don’t know what that is or what do you want.?» When I explained«saucers is a plate, honey.» she said«all we have is one. Here!» I believe that this franchise adheres to a pretty high standard when it comes to service. This experience will definitely be memorable on this Christmas Day.

I’ve eaten from here a couple of times now, and I’m liking it the more I try it. At first, I wasn’t happy with some of the savory choices we made. This time, we tried a few desserts and it was delicious! Very clean inside, all tables were wiped down and customer service was very friendly. Looking forward to coming back and trying more breads and savory items.

Crowded and bustling bakery where you fight for a table. Everything looks so sumptuously good, but… it tastes only borderline good. I mean, this isn’t a Papa’s independent boutique bakery. This is a larger franchise where they are making mass quantities. Sure, the staff is baking fresh things every hour. But you don’t know how long certain items have been sitting in their display case. Still, it’s worth a fork over, and the coffees aren’t bad(yet they aren’t starlight room excellent, either). #borderline

After a few visits here, I can honestly say I am over the hype(that I probably created myself when looking at my friends’ instagram posts about this place.) The pastries are good but they do not want me to go out of my way from Mid-Wilshire to Pasadena to pick up a box like some bakeries do. I will stop by if I happen to be in the area. I used to like the iced sea salt coffee but the last few times I’ve had it, the after taste(where all the salt collects in the bottom) didn’t sit with me well. I do like the mango panna cotta. But outside of all of that, the rest of the pastries I didn’t remember. I knew I enjoyed them but they were not memorable. I’ll give them a try a few more times and hopefully I’ll find something that I can consider my favorites.

4.0 stars! This location is just as good as any of the others(85 is pretty consistent across the board)! And it’s nice and spacious inside with lots of seating and wide, expansive windows. Parking is free for the first 90 minutes in the parking structure right across from 85 on the intersection of Green and Fair Oaks Ave. My favorites as always are the marble taro(which tastes just as amazing the day after with its soft, chewy texture) and the premium milk bread that has white chocolate inside. It’s like eating dessert basically. :D The sea salt green tea is also amazing.

Very clean and bright seating area with ample tables and somewhat comfortable chairs. Two register areas for the bakery and the café. Displays are attractive and well lit. Employees clearly don’t want to be there but they produce fake plastic smiles anyway, which deserves some appreciation. White chocolate bread was luxurious and so soft. If «Warm» had a texture, this bread would be it. Custard bread was perfectly soft and sweet without making my teeth hurt. Boba tea wasn’t too sweet and the boba were soft and warm but not mushy. I was impressed. But I asked for a cup of ice and they charged me for it! I paid a ransom for a pathetically small bottle of water and they charged me for ice? F that noise. See photo of receipt and size of water bottle. I was happy with my visit until this. It’s not about the money. It’s the principle.

85 °C Bakery is like the Asian version of Porto’s Bakery. It is a self served bakery where you go around and pick your own desserts. They have a great assortments of bread and pastries with some unique flavors such as taro. But my favorite is the egg tart. I can probably eat a few of those alone. They constantly bake freshly made bread. It is amusing when they yell out«Fresh Bread» to announce it. In addition to their pastries, they also have a great assortment of drinks such as Taro Latte and Sea Salt coffee. I have yet to try these drinks. For those individual pastries, they package them in this little box for you to take.

85* is so delicious! I am such a sucker for bread… all types, so this place is almost like heaven to me, haha. Been to this location twice and enjoyed it a lot! Busy as always. Lots of different bread selections which is always good. The setup here is nice and as long as you don’t come when it’s too crowded there’s enough room for everyone. I love their brioche and their blueberry cream cheese stuffed brioche. Amazing! Also tried a matcha green tea drink here too and was also delicious! Popular location. I’d say one of favorites and I’ve been to multiple :) I parked on Green St. since I went at night and the meters were already off but you can also park in the structure on that street and I think you get an hour or so free.

What a fun little bakery that reminds me pleasantly of Asian bakeries(obviously). The plan is to grab a tray and get what you want whether you are craving savory or sweet. There are some obvious favorites here but you can’t go wrong. They’ve got interesting items but I highly suggest just going for it and trying a little bit of everything! I will say though the people that work here SUCK… they don’t want to help, they’re just doing their business and if you ask questions they act like you’re stupid and just don’t even want to help. Very bare minimum words come out of their mouths.

This location is a lot smaller than all their other locations. Brightly lit and plenty of seating. This place is either a hit or miss, tbh. Service is whatever. Sometimes they would have every case filled. Then other days it would be completely empty. I guess it just depends on what time during the day you go! I come here for one thing: hot dog buns! The bread is garlicy and seasoned with so much flavor. It makes eating a hot dog so enjoyable without having to add ketchup! The drinks here are also pretty good. My fave would have to be the sea salt coffee with boba. The coffee flavor is noticeable and it’s not too sweet. The boba is always soft, which is a huge bonus. Another downside about this location is the parking. There’s usually free parking with a time limit in the structures close by but sometimes they close it off because it gets to full capacity. When that happens. Hell breaks loose.
