Baja Fresh Mexican Grill

I love Baja Fresh. For this visit, I ordered the Baja Steak Burrito. While delicious, the burrito did seem a little bit smaller (or maybe it’s normal — I haven’t had a burrito in awhile). Also, the meat wasn’t hot. Maybe it was cooled down by the avocado. I like to give Baja Fresh the benefit of the doubt. However, I was quite pleased that the burrito did not come out all drippy. I also liked that the salsa was not watered down. Four stars for this location.

Love this staple. Not sure why they’ve generally gone under — not too many stores left. Kids love it. Reminds me of Thursday nights when Greta and I were young — Baja Fresh and ER on must see TV Thursday’s!

Ordered Grilled Fish Diablo Burrito and they served with chicken. Giving 4 start because it tasted good. Else I would give only a star. Check your order before you start eating!

Americanized Mexican food. I ordered the beef burrito with beans, not very appetizing, in fact, quite boring. The lemonade drink ran out of syrup, ended up getting something else. The place was clean, service was friendly.

What happened? We’ve been going to this Baja Fresh for several years. Food was pretty good — nothing spectacular but above-​average for fast food.
Last night, it was awful. My wife had the Baja Bowl with steak. Some of the ingredients were missing and the steak wasn’t tender.
I had the Burrito Ultimo Enchilado style and it was smaller than previous times, alot less steak, and barely any enchilado sauce.
We ate outside in the front — apparently someone had thrown up in the area prior to our visit and although it was mopped, the smell remained.
On our way out, we noticed the «help wanted» sign in the window advertising for a chef.
Perhaps that’s why they have gone downhill.

Baja Fresh sucked today. There steak torts was awful. It was dry, steak was tuff and no flavor… And they weren’t even that busy for them to mess up a simple torta. Won’t be going there anytime soon

Ordered two tacos and guacomole dip with chips. The salsa was fresh and spicy. The guacamole was delicious and fresh, as well as the tacos. Customer service was friendly and the place was very clean, neat and organized. Overall, had a great customer experience.

Yes I realize this is not authentic Mexican food, but it is damn tasty and I love their salsa bar! I’ve always had good experiences at this location, the staff is always friendly and my order is always right. Alondra is always very sweet, and courteous, and she remembered my order after two visits, which I totally appreciate great service, great location!

Baja Fresh is always amazing. If you for some reason aren’t satisfied with your food, they will do everything in their power to fix it. I’ve been coming to this Baja Fresh probably since it opened and have always had great food. Get the refillable cup if you’re a regular (and remember to bring it with you!) as it’s only a dollar for refills. The staff is always very friendly and genuine.

I love Baja Fresh. There, I said it. I know I live in So Cal and therefore am not allowed to like fast food Mexican, but there are days when for some bizarre reason I’m just craving their fake, Americanized burritos. My friends are like «Wanna go to (insert delicious Mexican food restaurant here)?» and I’m like «Naw man, I need whatever is in those delicious delicious Baja Fresh burritos.»
There is just some flavor in their burritos that keeps me coming back!
ALSO, the cashiers are always super friendly and helpful, and their salsa bar is always clean and well stocked. Careful about ordering on the phone though – sometimes their phone works, and sometimes it doesn’t. So don’t depend on it or anything. They’re always super fast making the food, and I always end up with the perfect fake burrito!

Let’s be clear: despite my well-​established Gringosity, I’ve traveled – and eaten– extensively in Baja California. Despite many regional and local specialties in towns like San Quintin (clams!), San Felipe (fish tacos!), Loreto, Mulege, La Paz… The list goes on… And in all those places, the food only resembles Baja Fresh’s fare by accident at best. No pulpos fritos or Huachinango at Fresh… Just fast food wearing a Mexican food costume.
But that said, Baja Fresh makes a burrito you can eat. The Baja burrito is reminiscent of a San Diego carne asada. The salsas are all pretty salty and weak when it comes to spice. Even the pickles jalapeños are a joke. But the kids can handle it, and since they usually do bean and cheese burritos, it’s hard to screw that up.
A little pricy for a unique South of the Bordrt experience, really. But overall, it gets the job done when you’re in a hurry and just need to coat your stomach with salty tomato sauce and hunks of meat.

food was bland. they’ve really lost there way over the last few years. typical sub par mexican food.

Great salsa bar great ingredients. The new bbq chicken salad is amazing. Load it up with fresh salsa and its a whole new level. Be back next week. Why not !

This is possibly one of the worst food experiences I’ve had.
The place itself is disgusting. Dust and leaves all over the floor
So the worker is taking my order and I got some burrito called ultimo l (it says it comes with cheese and sour cream)… I asked him does it come with any sides, he said yes beans and rice … I get my burrito it was disgusting… No sides, all they did was shove the inside of my burrito with blan tasting rice … 2 pieces of meat, no cheese at all and a spoon of sour cream.

I got the 3 taco combo today… I was super hungry. I had the fish. Crispy wahoo for me, No flame grilled fish action for me this time. I asked for rice and salad instead of beans. The fish was good. It was more than decent. Nice crunch to the batter covered fish. Flour tortillas are my preference and I like that you can choose between corn and flour. The rice was very tasty. I liked it a lot… The small side salad was good especially with the cilantro ranch dressing. I usually cannot stand any cilantro in an shape or presence but a small hint in dressing form was pretty good.
Good meal. It’s nice that you can call in your order and have it ready for pickup. Baja rarely disappoints. But i didnt like the type of paper plates these meals come in. They get real soggy quickly especially with the salad dressing and the salsa mixing all about. And for a big order such as ours, we had 8 people all together order meals… only 2 bags of chips? C’mon now! Please be better next time with the smaller, but still noticeable, details.

Filthy table. And rude employee at salsa bar who just barged in. The chicken ensalata was good but not worth the trouble of eating here.

Place is always nice and clean and so Fresh. Customer Service is great, they get the job done. Food is good but you can taste the difference from a real mexican restaurant. Overall good choice.

Fish tacos and i did try one, they cost more then the usual taco places i stop at, but they are also a lot bigger and they also add fresh avocados and i can fill the salsa bar all i want so i get my $$$$$$ money’s worth here every single time! Thanks Baja Fresh.

My go to lunch place when I’m swapped at work. I call in an order, drive the 3 minutes over there, and my food is ready.
Salsa bar is always clean, service is friendly, and food is good. Food is healthy (I always get the Baja Ensalada, no dressing, and stock up on salsa).Can’t go wrong for a lunch place.

Dear Baja Fresh,
Let me start off by thanking you for having an immaculate ladies room. I know one doesn’t usually patronize a burrito place for their restrooms, but being 9 months pregnant– this is something I really appreciate.
Also, your wahoo fish taco was bomb & your salsa bar was clean & stocked. Not too shabby for primetime dinner hour. 7:30 pm can cause some disorder and I noticed that your store had it together.
I’m full & happy. And I got to pee without fear of getting caught with no TP.
