Alright where to start… Recently me and my cousin decided to build a fpv quadcopters for the first time we don’t have a clue to what we are doing. YouTube can’t always offer what a face to face can. I was referred to Erik by someone they told me his the person to talk to when programming and building a fpv. Anyways I have no idea who he was I called him gave me the address and drove by the shop. Extremely nice guy very knowledgeable about what he’s doing explained to me all the basic parts I needed from what I originally ordered he told me that I could swing by and use his workstation and he could also help me and guide me through the process of building my fpv. I also got a little gift from him parts are very affordable I like this place I will highly recommend it for those who are just getting started to go by and talk to them I loved the place and I will most definitely return again…

So… Let me start by saying that although I’m a baby of the 80’s who was born well after the end of the U.S. occupation in Vietnam, my first REAL hobby shop experience was a local(Central Ohio) spot where an old(WWII era) guy had a storefront AND a workshop for customers to build their planes. Dee’s RC. I was 10 and I remember the older guys hanging out and swapping all sorts of stories/knowledge. The workshop was such a gem for guys like my father who had no prior model building/RC experience. That was about 25 years ago. Since then, I could count on less than half a handful of fingers of shops that provided the level of knowledge and service as Dee’s RC… Until recently. I’ve been out of the hobby(racing RC cars and flying RC helicopters) for about five years. About a month ago I attended a BBQ at Point Fermin Park in San Pedro where to my delight, I was acquainted to a group of folks flying radio controlled slope gliders. It was insane. In my 25+ years in the hobby, I never flew anything«unpowered.» Naturally, I was interested in trying it out. I purchased a slope glider kit/components online from another shop only because I had not known about Custom RC Hobby at the time. While Unilocaling for another shop, so I could buy an on/off switch for said glider, I came across Custom RC Hobby in Pasadena less than a few miles away. I recently stopped in to the shop and introduced myself to the owner, Erick for a presumed 5 – 10 minute introductory chat. Fast forward about an hour and a half and we were still talking all things RC aircraft and some current events. It was clear to me that Erick was very passionate and knowledgable about the hobby. He wasn’t trying to sell me anything rather he seemed to be more interested in getting to know the customer, what the customer was looking for, and finally, what the best options were for said customer. Those were HUGE inquiries as customer service seems to be a dwindling quality in any sort of retail these days. The next time I need to purchase anything related to the hobby, I will check with Erick first. Being that the shop is small and the operation is newer, I understand that the physical inventory may not be as stocked as the larger operations. With that, I will do my best to support Custom RC Hobby. FYI, call before you stop in…

This is one of the best RC store in the Los Angeles area. Super friendly staff. Will assist anyone with RC questions or anything you require for your RC hobby. Very knowledgeable in what they do. Just stop by and check it out for yourself. They are located on the second floor of the building on top of this awesome mom n pops sandwich place.
