I really love the two meat plate of the Brisket and Hot link combo. I like spicy BBQ so I drench both meats with their«hot» BBQ sauce(they have original and mild as well) and all are kept in self serve heated sauce containers. The plate comes with two sides. To turn up the heat even more I get the halapeno beans, but also the coleslaw(to help regulate the burn a bit) throughout the meal. ;) The food is good, a bit pricy though. Is it worth it? I say yes, its a great change and great addition to the local business here this side of Pasadena.

I have been seeing the commercials for this BBQ place and decided to try it for the Super Bowl 50. I ordered online. I went the next day to pick it up 1 hour sooner told them to take their time no rush. While I was getting three different kinds of BBQ sauce I asked a lady has she eaten here before? She said her family LOVES it when she comes here. They still had it ready before the time I had to pick it up. Chris told me the bad news that Asiago Creamed Spinach was out so I picked another side. Chris ended up giving me pecan pies for the inconvenience. I will be back. Still need to taste the Asiago cream spinach. I have eaten a plate and I will be back!!!

I figured that I give this place one more chance, but once again a negative experience. After ordering and paying is when they inform me that the chicken for my sandwich is still cooking. No turkey available either. It is 7:15 not the end if the night. I give up on this location as never have I walked out with a positive experience.

Terrible service. Ribs were dry and never coming back. Bathroom was also atrocious. The barbecue beans were disgusting. They couldn’t pay me enough to return.

I don’t get the poor reviews? Yes this place is a small chain but the BBQ is really good for Southern California. We aren’t in the south so don’t expect that authenticity any where here. The ribs were nice and smokey with plenty of meat. The pulled pork was good too nice and tender. We enjoyed the raw sweet onion slices that came with our combo. The roll was so buttery and actually had flavor unlike a lot of places. Really appreciated the sauces were kept warm and it was also self serve. Which means they aren’t cheap with their sauces. Plenty for all! Their original sauce and the sweet sauce were really good. The spicy was a miss too hot however mixed with the sweet the spicy was a good combo. The pecan pie is generic tasting and mass produced for sure skip this. Casual place for the family not very big so don’t come with a crowd. Huge communal table in the center. Service was friendly and we were greeted upon entry. A hit!

Full disclosure: I am a jaded Southerner who has a LOT of experience with smoked meat! Honestly, I don’t know why we didn’t try this place sooner. We went in on a Sunday afternoon, after the lunch rush. We were waited on quickly by a very friendly server who was all to too happy to tell us about their meats and sides. He even gave us little tastes so we could make informed choices. We had: 3 item meat combo with sides(loaded mashed potatoes, green beans, pulled pork, brisket, hot link) 4 ribs with sides(green beans, creamed spinach All the meats were melt-in-your-mouth tender, smoky and delicious. And the server was kind enough to give us some of the«bark» from the brisket when I asked for it. All the sides were good except the mashed potatoes, which were too cold to eat. But Oh my God, that creamed spinach! I could’ve eaten a tub of that stuff. Two weeks later, we took the parents to the Buena Park location and ordered the Family Meal deal. Yep, we converted the folks, too. They loved it. Nice to have that little bit of soft serve at the end, too.

I did not dine at the restaurant. My sisters bought a family meal and brought it over to the pad and we all devoured the food. The family pack that was ordered was the 2 pounds of brisket, jalapeño beans, mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes. Personally, I would have gotten some different sides but that’s just me. The brisket was delicious. The meal also included several cups of BBQ sauce and bread rolls. I doused my brisket with sauce and made little sliders out of them. It was great. The meal-pack unto itself is a bit pricey — it came to about $ 50 but there’s plenty of brisket leftover this morning for breakfast. ;) The mac n cheese and mashed potatoes were nothing special but I did enjoy the«jalap-beans.’ They had some kick. I also don’t profess to be an expert in BBQ but if you know of better BBQ within city limits then let a brotha know!

Some decent bbq. The portions were fair on the main dish, but we’re kinda small on the sides. Free refills. Fries were well seasoned. Brisket was moist and full of flavor.

Pros: Really solid bbq all around, ribs are perfect for dipping sauces(original/sweet/spicy), barbecue brisket has a nice balance of sweet/salty flavors from the bark, sweet tea!!, free soft serve ice cream when you dine there, helpful staff(service & recommendations), bbq beans are solid if you’re a fan of sweet bbq beans, for dine-in: would be a good place to watch football over bbq Cons: Towards the end of the day, they could run out of particular meat selections(usually ribs run out in my experience). but knowing this, just don’t come too late if you want an open selection. Quick review: If you’re looking for bbq and don’t want to think much about where to go, then most Dickey’s locations have been reliable for me to say, «they never disappoint.»

This place is good for a quick bite to eat. Ok, so its not a family owned recipe spot where the food is lovingly prepared. But its not all that bad for what you get. The free ice cream is great for the kids. Is it my first choice in BBQ? No, but if i want a quick meal and i’m close by I’ll stop by again.

Gave this place a try last week. It was crowded. Service was pretty fast. My bf tried the 3 meat plate, i tried 2 meat plate. Everything was tasty, but def not the best bbq i have had. Pretty pricey too for the portions. May be a decent spot for take out or to bring kids for the complimentary ice cream cones.

Since the first time I came I so loved it! Everything is perfect and I’m so in love with the ceasar salad, iron waffle fries and baked potato casserole as sides. Every kind of meat was more than awesome! A good tip to try it out first is try the kids meal 1 meat plate. It will give u a good amount of meat and 1 side to try it out.

Been to several Dickey’s BBQs but this one is unique for their sense of pride to serve a fresh hot plate rather than mediocrity. I believe the food is freshest during lunch rather than dinner. Restaurant is clean, servers were friendly and prompt. Prices match the quality of the plate and location is convenient especially if you leave your car across the street to have washed on Wednesday for $ 11.

I catered Dickey’s for a party I had at my house. I called beforehand and told them I had 20 people coming over. He made suggestions(all which were great, btw). Only problem? It wasn’t nearly enough food for the 20 people. In fact, we had to order 4 large pizzas from the local pizzeria. Not the business! The food is good, but I just had a bad experience with the whole catering. Catering — never again. I might drop it for a lunch or something to give them one more try.

My wife and I love bbq very much but it hard to find a very good bbq restaurant. There some hole in the bbq joints serving good bbq but big bbq joints are hard to find and you have to go a long distances for good bbq. Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is one the second best bbq out of Texas we have tasted after Frankin bbq out of Austin Texas. My wife know Texas bbq well her parents are proud Texan and they know bbq including brisket. We were pass through Sierra Madre blvd then I saw Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, I told my wife let’s go there after we finish with our shopping. Guess what we were there at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit right away. The one thing we didn’t like is the parking situation they were no parking lucky we found parking and walk to Dickey’s When I open the door, we can smell the aroma of the bbq we bbq heaven. We look at the menu on the wall we decided to get the picnic basket it feeds two or four person. It comes a choice of one meat and two sides and four biscuits. The meat we was the beef brisket and the two sides were mac&cheese and baked beans. I pick up our meal wow, the meal looks so appetizing and mouth watering hood and the beef brisket look so heavenly good I couldn’t wait to take it apart. My wife got sauces they were three bbq sauce original, sweet and spicy. The brisket was smoke perfectly I can see the smoke rings and amazing color hours of cooking and the brisket was so tender I pull off so easily amazing that’s a good Texan bbq should be. Years of experience Dickey’s made the perfect brisket. Great flavor and juicy I love it plus adding the bbq sauce add it more flavor. I like the orginal, the sweet have a nice taste, I can taste the maple or molasses that’s another flavor I truth like. The spicy wow that hot stuff I though It going to mild think again that sauce just woke up my taste buds. The mac&cheese was amazing good and the baked beans so good even I taste of the brown sugar or molasses my wife and I enjoy sides. After the meal we got free soft serve ice that was so good. Overall we enjoy Dickey’s Barbecue Pit very much we go back very soon. I recommend Dickey’s Barbecue Pit to my family and friends and including my Unilocal friends.

I grew up going to Dickey’s back home in Dallas. It was always just fine, nothing I craved or missed living away from home all of these years. Last Sunday my friend and her family came over and suggested Dickey’s since she had a gift card and kids eat free. Wow was this place a mess. The ordering line is right in front of the door, so it gets cramped waiting in line. Then we heard the person in front of us being told that several meats(ribs, turkey, brisket) were out and wouldn’t be ready for 30 minutes, if at all! I understand that they may run out of certain items, but it was 5:30pm on a Sunday… peak time when all the dishes should be hot and fresh. Overall my pulled pork sandwich was fine. I wish they gave more pickles, but fried okra was a huge portion. I wouldn’t go out of my way.

I’m not a huge fan of BBQ flavors. but I really enjoyed Dickey’s! inb4 you’ve never had real BBQ before because you’re absolutely right. Bf and I went on Saturday night for the first time. Cute little interior & great staff. I was hungry and ready to eat that night so I got me the 3 meat plate. I chose: pulled pork, turkey, and chicken with the 2 sides of BBQ beans and mac n cheese. It also comes with onions, pickles, and bread. I had the assumption that the onions were grilled, so I asked for extra. To my disappointment, they were raw. and I got a lot of em. I love onions in all forms, but if it’s just there for me to eat without it being in a sammich or something. it’s kinda icky. Both orders came out to $ 32 and some change. They have a self serve station of drinks, BBQ sauces(regular, spicy, sweet), utensils, and free ice cream. That spicy is no joke. Got our table and started munchin! Pork? Delicious. That was probably my favorite. Nice smokey flavor to it. Chicken? YUMMY. Good seasoning and texture. Wasn’t too dry. Turkey? Pass. it grossed me out how juicy it was. Kind of like those lunchable packs where you can make a turkey sammich with those round slices with cheese and crackers? It was like. too jelly of a texture for me to enjoy. I tried to finish those first so I can have a better flavor later on in the meal. Literally my BBQ beans were never ending! I kept eating and eating & it seemed as if the cup would keep getting refilled. It was delicious overall! Mac n cheese was okay. Definitely not the best I’ve had, but put some salt on it and you’re good to go. Honestly, this place isn’t bad at all. Great macros & a great place to get my protein on. I was disgustingly full by the time I finished my food. Next time, 2 meat plate for sure.

Dickey’s is a huge huge BBQ chain in Texas and Oklahoma. After my initial prejudice, we’ve realized that we’ve really, REALLY enjoyed almost everything we’ve ordered here. Their meal plates allow you to combine any of their BBQ meats with your choice of sides. I recommend the chopped brisket, which are lovely, big chunks of brisket. It’s a little fatty as it should be and tender. Even better is their polish sausage and jalapeño sausage, with really nice snappy skins and excellent seasonings. The sides aren’t remarkable for me, but we’ve done pretty well with the potato casserole, which is kind of like a doctored up mashed potato with scallions and cheese. The mac n cheese is very creamy and almost boxed tasting and the fried okra isn’t bad if you like extra crunchy nuggets of fried vegetable. Their rolls, however, are outstanding! Buttery and fluffy soft and go perfectly with the meats. Their sandwiches are more affordable and quite a lot of food. I found the Westerner to be plenty of food and husband liked the Big BBQ sandwich which allows 2 meats per sandwich. The BBQ sauces here are at the condiment counter and I always package a few extra containers for my personal use later. It is the perfect combination of sweet, hot, and tangy. This place might be a chain and the staff surly(I’ve experienced some of that myself) but there’s nothing wrong with their eats!

The menu at Dickey’s is like cafeteria-style ordering. You can mix and match your favorite BBQ meats with your favorite sides and create a meal that’s just what you like. They also have kids meals, and a daily special that seems to feature items that may not be part of the normal menu. Tuesday nite’s special was pork ribs. I decided on pulled pork & polish sausage, and it’d rate both of them good, as in B or B+. Mrs. C’s plate of beef brisket was a little bit better, maybe an A-. But the variety & quality of the sides is where I think Dickey’s really shines. Baby C’s green beans were excellent, as were Mrs. C’s fried okra and my cole slaw. I don’t even like cole slaw that much, but Dickey’s version is very nice without being too creamy or too thick. There must be about 10 sides that you can choose from. Your meal also comes with a roll & a small amount of white onion & pickles. The self-service soda fountain was very clean & they have 3 kinds of BBQ sauces. The forks, napkins, straws & drink lids were well-stocked, which I really appreciate. You can also make yourself an ice cream cone for dessert, and Baby C pretty quickly figured out what was going on. It’s refreshing to see such a family-friendly restaurant. Baby C likes to see what’s going on, so while I was ordering, I was also holding him. The food then arrives on 3 trays, and I find myself kind of stuck. No problem. The very nice person at the register also offered to help me, so I carried 1 tray and he carried 2. Thank you so much for that nice touch & extra help! Tuesday nite’s dinner was a success!
