I was looking for some unique pieces of furniture for my son’s new place and I found this Asian antique shop around the corner from his apt. There was a sign on the door to ring buzzer to the right of the door. I rung the buzzer and a couple seconds later the owner came and let me in. I took two steps in and said…“I was planning on picking up some pieces for my son’s new place but I can tell right now that this is not in my budget… this is like a museum.” He did in fact say most of his sales are international and to museums. There is some amazing pieces like the Chinese Wedding Bed and some amazing artwork too He explained that his wife’s grandparents started this store and it is apparently the oldest Asian antique shop in the United States established in 1888. There was even a book written about his wives family. I walked out empty handed but if you have a chance to stop by or know someone that collects antiques there are some amazing pieces here. [see photos] The owner is very friendly too.
