«A fool and his money are soon parted.» Be smart. You should be a buyer in this market, until companies like this either stop accumulating or become sellers.

6÷18÷2012 I first visit a gold shop that I had previous experience(coin & Jewerly palace). Eugene, the owner gave me an estimate of my gold that I wanted to sell, $ 550., thought it was too low so I then tried Alhambra coins. $ 428… Then to Goldmax in Passdena(east). Gold max offered $ 249(this was with their 20% bonus), and after I told Eli(agent), that two blocks from here, I was offered $ 550. She made a call to get boss and miraculously the offer was bump to $ 450. I went back to my ‘friend’ Eugene at Coin & Jewelry Palace, asked for a little more and got $ 600 cash on the spot. No hassle with paper games or calling bosses. I feel sorry for the 6 people who had to wait in excess of over 30 min. just to get ripped off by fancy sign and add at Goldmax. Go see Eugene, tell him ‘Pia’ send you. Maybe I’ll get more next time I go.

Do not go here! Felt like I was pressured to sell. And now reading these reviews, I know for sure I got cheated and could’ve got more for my jewelry. Don’t make the same mistake as I did. Check reviews first before going anywhere!

If you went to Westminster, why are you submitting a review for this location? It doesn’t apply. I went to this location a couple weeks ago with a friend who was interested in selling some gold she never used. Lady who measured everything wrote it up for $ 536. I asked about a 20% coupon I overheard the last person she helped mention. I pulled up the website on my phone and showed it, and the price went up to $ 640. I then asked her to explain to me the method for which she came to her number. Basically, I asked how much gold did my friend have in Troy Ounces, not penny weight. She said about ¾ of a Troy Ounce. Knowing the market was around $ 1650 a Troy Ounce, I figured $ 640 was way low. I know they’re a business and they need to make a profit, but my friend had $ 1200 worth of gold. I did a Google search on my phone while the lady was preparing the paperwork. I found a Unilocal review that outlined the whole process of giving a lowball price at the start and then calling a supervisor, etc, etc. I told my friend not to sign, and sure enough the lady started doing everything the Unilocal review mentioned… verbatim! The lady called her«supervisor» and got permission to up the amount to $ 1140! I had to keep from laughing because everything I read on Unilocal unfolded right in front of us. It was comedy. In a nutshell, these people are out to screw you. If you don’t know what you’ve got, they’re going to do you wrong.

Goldmax prays on uninformed people. Unfortunately I was one of them and lost about 15% off some gold coins I sold them. They act real nice but it’s all a front. Beware and keep looking. Totally disgusting, given then are taking from those who are mostly in desperate situations.

The one in Hermosa Beach did the EXACT same thing to me. I went elsewhere and will NOT go back… who doubles their price in 15 minutes? They also magically appeared with a coupon that we never saw… AND the sales woman was using her cell phone to call her so called boss… no bueno
