Groovin’ On Music

I started working with Mary Ann about a year and a half ago. She is an absolutely wonderful person to work with. So kind, dedicated, fun, passionate, and talented teacher! If you really want to learn music and learn it correctly, she is the right person for you. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, she is great to collaborate with. She has an innate ability to teach, create songs, rhythms, lyrics, melodys and anything else needed for music-​making. She has the ability to bring out the best in your capablities while gently pushing you forward beyond your limitations. I highly recommend her as she will truly be devoted to your learning and growth in whichever area of music you pursue.

My 11 year old daughter attended guitar lessons with Mary Ann for almost two years. She loved Mary Ann and looked forward to her sessions. Unfortunately, she was overwhelmed with her schedule and we had to stop.

My son (10 yrs old) has been taking guitar and drum lessons here from Clinton Clark going on 3 years now. When we began considering music lessons, I took my then 7-​year old son around town to about 3 places to take «sample» lessons so HE could decide his choice of teacher. He was certain he wanted to learn with Clinton because Clinton is a drummer!!! They hit is off. And Clinton has a great teaching style. My son had been saying for a while that he wanted to learn drums, but I wanted him to learn to read music first. So we negotiated that he’d learn guitar first FROM A DRUMMER who ALSO rocks at guitar! We have been so pleased with how he’s learning. AND, by the way, my father-​in-​law who is an accomplished musician from The Rat Pack era has watched a brief video of a lesson and highly complimented Clinton on his musical knowledge and style of teaching. Rock on!

I took voice lessons from Mary Ann at Groovin’ On Music from 2007 – 2009, and they were worth every penny. I was a background singer in a worship team at church and I was shy to sing lead because I didn’t know how to sing vibrato or navigate the falsetto break in my range. I had always wanted to take lessons as a kid but never was able to until adulthood. I was a bit nervous when I first came in, but Mary Ann put me at ease. She is a beautiful spirit who inspired me, challenged me, and made me laugh. She is not only amazingly talented and experienced, but she genuinely loves people and makes the lessons an enjoyable experience. Mary Ann definitely took my voice to the next level. Many people have commented on the difference in my voice and my confidence level before and after the lessons. I now sing lead, am at home with my vibrato and know how to use all the notes in my range. I would absolutely recommend Mary Ann as a voice coach for people of all ages!

My son (age 11) has been taking guitar lessons at Groovin’ on Music for over 3 years. His teacher Lucas Martinez is a gifted musician and teacher. He has not only been effective in teaching my son the rudiments of music and guitar, but he has succeeded to keep him motivated and always trying new things in music, including popular songs, soloing and music theory. I am very happy with how much my son enjoys playing guitar and his confidence to play and perform.
Also, in the past when I was part of the music ministry team at my church, I took a series of voice lessons under Mary Ann. I learned a ton and my confidence and skill as a vocalist grew exponentially through her lessons and encouragement.
Our family has had an excellent experience at Groovin’ on Music and we plan to have my younger child start lessons there soon. Definitely recommend.
