Hutton Todd M MD

I’ve never Unilocal reviewed a psychiatrist until now but Dr. Todd Hutton gave me such extraordinary care during one of the worst phases/​months/​nights of my life that I feel it only right I do in fact, Unilocal review him. I have a therapist and I do all the «right» things. But I had a pretty hefty lingering bout of anxiety that turned into clinical depression and Dr. Hutton really helped me understand what I was going through and then explained each mediation thoroughly, answered all of my questions, addressed ALL of my concerns and basically helped me turn my life around from being seemingly permanently depressed and hopeless into a functioning, motivated on the way to happy person. So yah, five f***ing stars:)

As far as compassion is concerned, Dr. Hutton and his entire staff take the cake! I always felt welcomed and that I mattered when I went in for my appointments. When it comes to medication management, Dr. Hutton is a genius. After being treated at his Pasadena office, I felt like I could conquer the negative thoughts and poor self-​esteem that had accompanied me for as long as I could remember. I feel like I am alive and no longer «broken». Thank you, Dr. Hutton, for the time you spent with me, challenging me to think beyond the darkness I carried, and embrace the happiness that I discovered while in your care.

Dr. Hutton quite literally saved my life. My previous MD had added sedative after sedative so I couldn’t think, express emotions, and was so anxious I believed I would die within a couple years.
After about 10 days in the hospital in Sept 2010, Dr. Hutton had me back in the land of the living, and taking half the number of meds I was on before — was on 8, left on 4. Dr. Hutton is like an artist with medications — he prescribes very specifically for each patient, as if the meds are colors of paint on his palette. He took me off a medication that made my hair break off, and put me on an antidepressant that helps guard against weight gain, was good for people with some obsessive/​compulsive traits, and is very inexpensive.
Dr. Hutton is very compassionate. I remember the first time I met him in the hospital, he leaned forward to hear my story, looked intently at me, and didn’t even take notes until afterward.
If I ever have to wait for my appointment (I think 20 min is the longest), it’s because he needed to spend more time with a previous patient who perhaps was not doing well. He’s done the same for me, so it doesn’t bother me.
I can’t say enough about Dr. Hutton — an excellent physician I feel so lucky to have as my doctor.

I have no doubt Dr. Hutton is one of the best psychiatrists in the country. I’ve been seeing him for 3 years and my life has transformed — mainly because of his psychotherapy with me. He’s not one to only evaluate and prescribe appropriate meds (if needed) — he does his own sessions (which are usually transitioned to a psychologist). He is a full care, extremely intelligent, highly effective MD. I never give Unilocal reviews (although I’m quick to tell people and social network ‘friends’ how much i appreciate certain people, places and products/​services) — this is important. He is just amazing.
