Jon’s Rugs

He truly does deserve 5 stars. My wife and I had a sincerely enjoyable experience with Jon. His knowledge, humor and excitement is infectious. We couldn’t be happier with our purchase and look forward to returning.

I have bought three rugs from Jon, on two separate occasions, and he makes the experience painless. There is quite an education about buying antique and oriental rugs, and Jon is a patient and knowledgeable teacher. He is located in a very reputable antique shop in Pasadena, and he is one of the few people I would trust to buy a specialty rug.
One of the antique rugs I wanted needed repair, and he was reasonable with his price, and had it ready just when he said it would. The repair work was magnificent. He will help you find a quality rug in your price range without you getting the feeling you are being taken to the cleaners.
When you meet Jon, you can sense right away that you are dealing with an honest and reputable rug dealer. He has been doing it «for over 30 years». He says he travels quite often to Iran, and other countries where fine rugs are handmade, and says he is always looking for quality antique rugs, which are not always easy to find.

Jon is an amazing man with a vast knowledge of rugs and killims. When my boyfriend and I came to him (by recommendation) we were skeptical. We’d been to a lot of rug salesman and as you can guess, they are usually dishonest, artificial con men. Jon Erin is the exact OPPOSITE. He was patient; folding all the rugs over that we needed to see and laying them out for us (dozens of rugs! They are heavy!)
Anyway, my boyfriend and I were trying to find at least three nice rugs for our new home, under a couple thousand. Jon gave us an amazing deal for three small rugs and two large ones. Over the course of a few weeks, we finally decided on what we wanted. Like I said, he was patient with us.
Mind you, buying fine antique rugs is not a wishy-​washy thing! If you are serious about buying the right rug or killim, this is the man to see. Oh, and he wrote his own book on rugs! He’s amazingly knowledgable, kind, honest, adept and thoughtful. You won’t regret going to him.
