I came here with a few friends on Sunday afternoon for a wine tasting. Such a hidden gem! I love the vintage décor! Cozy seating, amazing staff and superb wine selection. Gino the owner is super friendly and welcoming. You really feel like a part of the family. If you’re a wine connoisseur, I recommend, no I BEG you to check this place out. You’ll love it! Also… parking on Colorado and in the back, off green street.

I love this place! I kind of don’t want people to know about it because I want to keep it a secret, but I’m too dedicated of a Unilocal elite NOT to talk about it. It can be a little hard to find because it is tucked away off the street in a little courtyard-like nook. I love the décor and ambience of this place. They have a nice variety of music playing in the background, as well. It would be a great place to take a date– maybe I’ll update this after my date tonight. The tasting menu has a nice variety of white, rose and red varietals that can accommodate all palettes and budgets. They also have a nice selection of beers available, as well. Chris is very knowledgeable of the wines on the tasting menu and the selection they have in back, as well. Service has been very attentive and friendly the few times I’ve gone there. I also met the owner, Gino, last time stopped by. He was very friendly and it was fun to talk to him about the different wines. Definitely stop by and check this place out the next time you’re in the neighborhood.

I absolutely loved this little wine lounge! They offer a great selection of red and white wines at affordable prices ranging from $ 8-$ 16/glass. I tried a few of their reds: Native Son Red Blend; Prisoner Red Blend Napa; and Crossbarn Cab Sauv. My absolute favorite was the Prisoner. It was the sweetest of the three and left the most delightful aftertaste on my palate. Having been a little intoxicated, I’m unsure if the following is completely correct, but eh, I trust my judgement well enough. Anyway, I believe the co-manager, who was also our server, mentioned that bottle purchases were not to be opened at the lounge. Meaning that, if you want to drink here, you need to purchase by the glass. I haven’t been to many wine bars, but I think this may be a regulation for most places. The atmosphere here was great! We arrived late into the evening, maybe half an hour before closing, but there was still a small crowd mingling inside. This place is perfect for a relaxing night out with friends. Since it wasn’t crowded or loud, I managed to hold a conversation without having to scream over people — that was a nice change. Lastly, the service here will not disappoint. Like I mentioned earlier, we rolled in close to closing, but our server was incredibly friendly and stayed well after closing so that we could enjoy our drinks without rushing out. When he found out that we were celebrating my birthday, he was sweet enough to pour everyone a glass of champagne on the house, himself included, so we could toast together. Coincidentally, he and I shared the same birthday, so that’s even more of a reason to toast, right? I can’t wait to come back here!

Great feel and such great service! Music level is good. Energy is solid. Service and wine are very good. Small venue so make sure you arrive earlier. They have an amazing membership program as well! Go and discover for yourself!

Went there with a date, bartender tried to overcharge us. I have noticed this«overcharging» a lot when I’m out on dates. I guess businesses figure the guy won’t say anything because he doesn’t want to come across as being cheap. Not cool. This place lost any future business or recommendations from me.

The boyfriend and I were taking a walk up and down Colorado and saw that the MadPort Wine Lounge took over the Nose Bar. I was very, very happy with the décor becuase the Nose Bar was pretty dark and almost medieval looking. The space is open and bright with plenty of seating. The wines were excellent! From other reviews, it sounds like they rotate them out, which is nice since they don’t offer flights. I believe we met the owner and he was super cool(it’s nice to talk to them because you get an idea of their philosophy about wine). We will more than likely be back because we like small places like this where we can relax and spend quality time together.

What a hidden gem!!! Not crowded on Saturday night so great for a small group or date. You can rent out part of the lounge if you want to have a party. Great interior décor(loved instagram-ing this place). Nice selection of wines. Good prices for by the glass. No food available. Street parking or parking lots a couple blocks away. Will come back regularly.

Went for a drink after a nice dinner close by with my bf. The ambiance was great, clean and intimate, very welcoming. We sat at the bar and Vy was a great wine connoisseur for us. They give you 25% off for all take home wine bottles so definitely take another one if you like what you have!

I like this place, quiet, intimate with a good selection of wines. Came here before seeing a film across the street and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I would definitely come back.

I came here with my husband and a friend around 2pm on a Saturday during Make Music Pasadena last week. The location is hidden in a cute little shopping area recessed from the sidewalk– reminds me of Santa Barbara. We were the only customers and there was a comfy lounge area with three large cushioned seats around a little table near the front window with beautiful light. I got the feeling this place had just opened for a few reasons. First, that we were the only customers. Second, they seemed to not have worked out all the kinks. There wasn’t a huge selection of wines by the glass and beers on tap but the first wine I ordered was out of stock so the waiter suggested another. And the first beer my husband ordered was also out– the waiter/bartender explained that they hadn’t refilled the tap yet. It’s not like the place was crowded and they had just run out, it must have been from at least the day before– so it just seems like they’re still figuring things out. There’s a nice ambience– the décor features large, vintage French posters which can be really cliché but the selection they had were pretty cool– not the really common ones. I hope to come back and try the cheese plate. The complimentary beer-nuts were good– exactly what you want in a beer-nut– good enough to eat some so you don’t get wasted– not too good so that you can’t stop eating them. Prices were reasonable.

Loved this hidden gem! The employees are knowledgeable and know their wines. We received a wine list and were not sure exactly what we wanted and the girl there answered every question we had. Ended up ordering Prisoner, a red wine I highly suggest! You can also choose a bottle instead of ordering by the glass. The décor is fabulous with music playing in the background. Comfortable couch and chairs and this gorgeous wine wall and paintings to admire. Great and causal spot for a date night or girls night out.

Absolutely LOVE this place. Comfortable chairs and couches, beautiful artwork, excellent service, and FANTASTIC wine. Chris really knows his stuff so do ask his opinion. If you aren’t a wine drinker they usually have a couple of really good beers on tap and price them about half that of other local bars. They usually have some nice Belgians by the bottle in the fridge behind the bar as well. If you are in need of a relaxing, adult night out with friend please do consider visiting Madport. Its not just drinks, its an experience.

I think Madport is the best wine lounge in Pasadena. The interior design is gorgeous and the wine selection is great. I recently attended a Birthday party at Madport and I think I may have to book an event there too! The menu of wines by the glass changes consistently and the staff is always very helpful in explaining each wine and helping me decide what to try next.

There once was a time when there were too many wine bars in Pasadena, and I was bemoaning the lack of gastropubs and cocktail lounges. Well, time marches on and now the only thing that Pasadena has way too much of is pizza places. MadPort is everything a wine bar should be: stylish without being slick, comfortable without compromising on service, knowledgeable without being pretentious… in fact, what differentiates MadPort from many similar establishments is its amazing service: they really want you to love what they love, so won’t belittle you if you don’t know a pinot from a shiraz, or don’t really know how to pronounce Gundlach-Bundschu Gewürztraminer. Although there’s never a regular food menu, every time I’ve been there’s been free goodies to go with your drinks(sliders one night, pizza another…). Not into wine??? No worries, because they have a really great selection of micorbrews as well. Not into beer or wine? Still no problem, because there’s always a friendly dose of conversation from either the servers or the diverse patrons. Not into beer, wine or conversation? Alas, perhaps this place is not for you. But fear not, CALTECH is just down the street, and my friend is currently working on a theoretical study of gravitational wave generation in the nonlinear strong-field régime that I’m sure you’ll find absolutely riveting.

*I’m so sad, someone deleted my original posts with pictures. Here’s what I said two weeks ago. Super cute new wine bar. Buy by the glass or by the bottle. Free cheese platter to try wine with. While they don’t really have any food, this is a great place to try new wines at some really great prices. The owner is a wine wholesaler, so he’s able to offer wine at great prices. There’s wine by the glass, or you can buy a bottle and try it there. If you are on a great date on Pasadena and you just want to relax and talk in a quiet place with a lot of charm then I highly recommend Madport.
