Absolutely mortified. I ordered a chicken salad and when I started eating it, I noticed the chicken wasn’t fully cooked. I told the waiter and he took my plate and said he will get the manager. I sat there for half an hour with no food on my table, waiting. During that time, the waiter was attending other customers avoiding me. I finally got a hold of him and asked what was going on. He apologized and brought back the chicken I sent back. They recooked that same exact chicken… Then tried to bill me for that salad! I am upset! To begin, that’s a major health hazard for the chicken being undercooked and then getting back the same chicken, recooked. Secondly, the restaurant trying to bill me for a chicken that could have gotten me sick. And mostly because the manager never appeared to my table to talk to me. I can report this. Never go here!

I will not be making the trip out here again it is so different then I remember. Came today for of course a fathers day brunch. And all I can say I ewww… sorry no thanks even my big appetite BF wouldn’t bother the menudo is all I really wanted but it looked greasy !! And the bloody Mary was served in a plastic cup ?? No celery no olives no taste ! The only decent thing was the huevos rancheros. sorry sticky seats and condensation on the air conditioning dripping down on top of me didn’t help. One other point the waiters should understand you the first time it took me 3 xs to get ours to understand a simple request at times. Good bye MJ

I was a regular at this restaurant for a while now, food prices were OK, what attracted me to this place was their delicious different salsas, chips, molcajete, coffee aaaand their mexican buffet during the week which was absolutely delicious. Now the place looks totally empty, no costumers, prices are off the roof and the food is not worthy, our servers were good all the time and my wife and i had very good service, WHATHAPPENEDTOTHISPLACE!!! ITUSEDTOGETBUSYANDEVERYTHINGWASGOOD. I went today after work for the buffet and we noticed one waiter was outside telling people they had a problem going on in the restaurant, really on a monday afternoon??? Managers and owners should do something about it or this business is really close to shutting down their doors forever.

The best thing about the«cobb» salad was the avocado which you only get 2 slivers of, but the cucumbers are huge! Dressing has no flavor, Don’t waste your time or money, service was horrible. Nothing good to say about this place, sorry!

I don’t even know how this place is in business! Horrible can and freezer burnt food, and watered down drinks. Don’t even bother coming to this place it’s not worth it. The ambiance was weird and the place was empty. The seats and table should be thrown away because the salvation army wouldn’t even want this shit! 15 bucks for 20 min of bullshit… really? Taco bell would have been better…

Stopped by one night for happy hour just to grab a quick drink. Their special was $ 2 margaritas, they were disgusting. You’re basically having a slushy. Too sugary and there was only 6 people in the bar. The crowd was a bit weird, didn’t feel like pasadena. The restaurant is pretty outdated and it’s next to Doña Rosa which is another place not worth going to.

I loved Margarita Jones! It was my first time here. We walked in it looked a bit empty, but then it started to get busy. Service was cool, waiters are very nice. I love the menu, so many items to choose from. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The food was delicious! And the coconut Margarita is the bomb! I went with my sister and my cousin and her baby. We had a great time!

Seriously, how can a Mexican restaurant run out of guacamole at 6pm. The 1.99 margaritas were more ice than margarita and small. 2 sips and they were gone. If I lived here this would not be a restaurant I would return to.

The only reason I am giving this place 3 stars is because our server was very attentive to our needs and was pretty cool to chit chat with while waiting for our stuff. To be perfectly honest, it probably deserves one star because of all the little things that can quickly become big things to the person that likes to make little things into big things. Good thing I’m not one of those people! Anyway, I’ve been to Margarita Jones several times for happy hour, as it’s right down the street from Huntington Hospital where I work. The best part of the aforementioned happy hours is the free botanitas(appetizers) they put out to get you to eat so that you’ll buy more alcohol! Usually it’s just nachos, but occasionally, I have seen mini taquitos and these baby enchilada thingies. Yesterday, a buddy of mine needed a beer so he said, let’s go get a pitcher and since I never need my arm twisted to throw back a couple, I happily obliged. 3 pm on a Monday, who would have thought that happy hour would have started? It wasn’t too happy apparently, because we were the only ones in the joint. It was totally empty. And this is where things started to go south, at least in my opinion. First of all, they couldn’t sell us a pitcher, because supposedly they ran out of the«gas» they needed for the tap said the waiter, and they weren’t going to have any until Thursday, so we were forced to drink the $ 5 bottled Dos XX. Da fuck? How in the hell do you run out of gas for your tap and why in the heck would it take almost a whole week to replace it? Since we were thirsty, we didn’t care. Then, the waiter mentioned that the appetizers were half off, so we decided to get an appetizer. We ordered some carne asada nachos and some potato skins. Well, I should have remembered about the appetizers coming out, but since it had been a while, I couldn’t remember what time they take the appetizers out. Well, I guess it’s right after the two dumb fucks order the half priced appetizers, because no sooner had we ordered them, that they decide to bring out the first free appetizers, and guess what they were? Yup, NACHOS! If it wasn’t for the fact that the asada wasn’t that bad, I might have been pissed. Luckily it was actually tasty. The potato skins sucked. I thought there’d be some bacon or some kind of meat, but no. Just some monterrey jack cheese and a teeny tiny bowl of guacamole and sour cream. Overall, you know you get what you pay for. I’ll keep coming back for the free appetizers and the over priced beer, because its convenient for all of us at HMH to go have a few beers or $ 1.99 under-liquored margaritas because of the wonderful company I like to surround myself with.

We had the whole restaurant to ourselves at 9:16 pm for the happy hour. Really, we were the only two people other than staff. The greeter/our waiter acted upset with us for coming. When all I got was the soup and margarita, he asked repeatedly if I was sure– and not in a concerned way. The soup was very salty so much so it burned your lips to eat. Lol seriously. After enduring an unhappy waiter, he charged us for the $ 7.50 margarita and not the $ 1.99 one. When we brought it up, he argued with us coming up with a lot of excuses as to why we are charged that and not the happy hour price. He finally voided the receipt after much debate. The whole ordeal just kinda ruined the atmosphere. I can only imagine he did it to increase the bill to get a higher tip since the restaurant was dead. So I suggest avoid this place at all costs. There was bad food and bad service. Why would you want to go to a place that makes you feel like a nuisance for coming? Is a 0 star rating possible?

…Ignore the 2 star review. The service is fantastic. The staff is respectful, hardworking, and friendly! Come for happy hour for 2 $(strong) house margaritas, half price appetizers & free chips/salsa.

$ 9.99 all-you-can-eat brunch buffet. To be honest, the buffet was kinda lacking… Not much besides a taco bar, potatoes, beans and rice, cheese enchiladas, salad, and churros. I was hoping for more actual breakfast food, or more variety in general. But we were two hungover ladies and greasy Mexican food was what we were here for. The only downside was that drinks are normal prices… Weak $ 10-ish margaritas weren’t enough to turn a hangover into happiness. We asked for tequila shots on the side and didn’t get changed for them, so that was nice. It’s a huge, spacious restaurant with a dark, old-school interior and a full bar area… I imagine it to be quite the scene at night. The waitstaff was very friendly. There are lots of separate rooms to reserve for big parties, and we sat outside on the shaded patio. Not the best buffet, but served its purpose!

My rating for this place is based on their happy hour special! After a long day at work, dealing with people throwing more more issues at you… you really need to find a place to unwind and relax. My coworker and I wanted to find a spot where we can drink our troubles away, but on a dime. We figured we would stop by this place despite some bad reviews. We were definitely glad we gave this place a chance! We arrived on a Thursday at 6pm to find that they have an all day margarita special for $ 1.99! The parking lot gets packed because it is shared with another Mexican restaurant… oddly. When you walk into Margarita Jones, it is not the nicest place, but it is not bad. Their $ 1.99 margarita includes a variety of flavors, coconut, strawberry, lime, mango, pomegranate, and pineapple. To start, I ordered the strawberry and lime. The strawberry margarita was really good! I am not sure if they added any artificial flavoring, but you can definitely taste the bits of strawberry in the margarita. The lime margarita was ok. If I return, I wouldn’t order this again. I also got the coconut margarita and the pomegranate margarita. I really enjoyed the coconut margarita. It reminded me of a piña colada. They also add toasted coconut shavings on top! It was my favorite of the night and definitely something I recommend. The pomegranate margarita was decent. I probably won’t get that again. You can buy the regular size for $ 1.99 or a large size for $ 3.98. The happy hour special also includes free appetizers, chips and salsa, and cheese enchiladas. It is almost too good to be true! But it is! The chips and salsa were regular… nothing too special about them, but I did say they are free, right?! The service was great. The waitress would stop by often to check on us and take any additional orders. They play loud music, so the vibe was very popping at that time. Overall, I really enjoyed their happy hour special. I didn’t get a chance to order food, but I do recommend this place for their great margaritas!

This place has an all you can eat brunch on the weekends! It’s pretty good too– they make fresh tortillas and the meat for the tacos was delicious. Our waiter was really nice and attentive too. There was no wait for a table and we could sit inside or out.

Several months ago, we returned to this place for some grub. Something was wrong with the chips & salsa they gave us. The chips had a chemical-like smell about them… almost like kerosene. We tried to let it go, but quit eating the chips. Then the dinner arrived. Tasted off, too. Had that same kerosene smell. Haven’t been back. Too many other places to go for Mexican.

I’ve only been here 2 times and I’m pretty sure this place can do much better. The last time I came here, no one was at the front to seat us. We had to wait for a server to notice and find a seat for us. The servers were ok, nothing too great. Kinda empty for a Sunday at around 2pm. Now let’s see the food… presentation looked pretty good because portions were big! My tostada looked HUGE! I was so excited but honestly it only disappointed me because the flavor was not there. The chicken was bland and the guacamole was ok… I needed to add more salsa since the salsa in the tostada was all mushy. The tostada shell was the best part… crunchy and good. This place is not the best Mexican food I’ve had in Pasadena. There are better ones around. Sorry but won’t be frequenting this place.

Not sure how this restaurant got such low ratings as 2.5. For me it is 3.5. I came here with son for late lunch/early dinner on a weekend afternoon. Disclaimer: our experience doesn’t speak for the night club. Spacious parking lot, friendly wait staff. Chimichangas De Pollo– shredded chicken with red enchiladas sauce, topped with tomatoes and cilantro. Crispy wrap, juicy filling, my son liked it and finished it. Seafood Enchiladas– crab, shrimp, corn, and pico de gallo wrapped in corn tortillas. I liked my dish. The only thought at first sight was«big plate, small enchiladas.» The size of the plate was really for three enchiladas, not two. Happy hour margaritas were decent, for the price. Endless baskets of chips. The salsa was so so, a bit too watery. I will be back to try more.

Honestly, I have had WAY better NACHOS, this sauce had NO flavor, and then they plopped TWOGINOURMOUSJALAPENOS on top of the nachos– as if that would make it all better?! and for a place CALLEDMARGARITA Jones, being out of BOTHMANGO and PEACH flavours is NOBUENO! Seriously folks! I finally told the waitress«Why don’t you just tell me which flavors you DO have?! Which I settle on COCONUT as pictured.
