Philip is a complete gentleman with a really good pair of hands! Just be sure to make an appointment. That’s a good sign, that he’s always busy! I read his reviews & I can agree with them. He’s earned his stars. The first time I dropped by, he was willing to stay open late for me as he was booked up! I declined as I felt it was a lot to ask for my very first cut with him. The next time I called in, he actually worked me in on his day off!
He was quick, but spent the time that I required. He gave a good cut for a very reasonable price. He offers a good value, a good cut & he’s a great guy.
BTW, I’ve always found street parking adjacent to his spot.

So I did a Unilocal Search and Found Michels.
It’s only a few blocks from my house, so I stopped in yesterday and met Phillip. We made an appointment for today. I am delighted. He listened, looked at my pictures, explained everything he was doing. I’ve never had a hairstylist have me sit in a tall chair to cut the bottoms of my long hair so it was straight.
He did all the little things I expect. Lots
Of tiny texturing on the ends. I just love my new deep bangs and long bob layers. This may be one of the best hair cuts I’ve ever had. And OMG. For $ 17.00. Please take a $ 20.

Philip is the greatest. His cuts are so good I end up going Longer than I used to between visits! Would give an extra star, if possible.

I just moved to the Pasadena area and needed to find a new barber. Don’t judge but before finishing Michel’s, I went to supercuts a couple times with some disappointing results. Not only is the wait there egregious, the stylists there don’t know what they’re doing! And it’s not like my haircut is complicated-​just a blend with a half razor on the side blending to a 3 on top. The last time I went to supercuts the lady who was doing my hair couldn’t even finish my cut because she couldn’t blend my hair right and had to have her supervisor take over. After that experience I concluded that I need to find a different barber so I went to Unilocal for help. I came upon Michel’s salon and it turns out they are barely a block away from the supercuts! I had made a reservation and Phillip cut my hair correctly and quickly. And a bonus is he charges a lot less than supercuts. I will be a repeat customer for my hair cut needs and I highly recommend that you go there too!

Phil is amazing, just bring a picture of what you want and he will do it. He is mainly focused in the haircut but he lets you use his hair dryer. He is very meticulous, detailed oriented and it’s amazingly cheap compared to all of the fancy saloons that Pasadena has.

I love this place bc he trims only what I ask, nothing more (unlike like every other salon that takes off 3 inches) Fast, quick, easy. Great haircuts that make my hair grow fast. Call ahead and make an apt. Can usually get same day or next day apt.

Michel just recreated a haircut I originally paid $ 60 for and I paid him $ 15! This place is not fancy but the man knows what he is doing. I have a ton of hair and my cuts can take upwards of 30 – 45 min. He was done in 25 min and I am super happy with the results. I also had a lovely conversation with Michel who has had this place for over 30 years! Definitely make an appointment, he had to answer 5 calls during my cut. Thank you Michel!

The best place to get a cut in the area. I hate paying so much at other places and coming home with a bad cut. I have never left with anything less than perfect here. Perfect bangs, perfect layers, and the perfect price! You won’t find a luxurious setting or options so if you are looking for the extra fluff, you will need to find another place.
Phillip is amazing and I hope he always has time for me with all the amazing reviews he gets.

Fellas, if you want a no nonsense men’s haircut — fashionable but not metrosexual — and not clipped up like some barbershop, Michel’s is the place for you. He’s a super nice guy, listened and got me out of there with a sharp looking haircut so i could go to a job interview looking fresh. The price was very good, there is easy free street parking and I got in and out of there without a fuss.

I’m so glad I found Phillip via other Unilocalers b/​c I love my hair cut! I stopped in on Thursday morning and got an appt. for the next day. Phillip is a very kind, friendly person who makes you feel at ease while cutting your hair. He listened to what I wanted done and I also showed him a photo of the style i was looking for, and he delivered! I will definitely be going back to this salon for future haircuts. I was amazed to discover that he’s been in this same spot on Washington Blvd for over 30years.

Just moved to Pasadena and I was looking for Annu hair stylist came across Michael’s place read the reviews. love the reviews. So I did a walk in 30 minutes before he closed the other day he did ask me if I had an appointment. I said no. He said no problem sit down I will take care of you no problem. He told me the reason he asked me if I had an appointment because he had an appointment for a customer to come in at 7.
I showed him a picture of how I wanted my hair cut any cut it exactly like I wanted it was very meticulous took his time and did and beautiful job. I tend to stay with the trends he cut my hair very short on the sides longer on top the brush back parted look. And my girlfriend absolutely loved his work loved my hair cut. Take note he does not take credit or debit cards he was very nice it said there is a bank right down the street and I went to Wells Fargo pulled out $ 20 and gave him $ 20 even when he only charged me $ 13 for the haircut which is incredibly inexpensive I highly recommend him and by the way his name is Philip it’s not Michael as the business states on the sign

Philip is absolutely amazing. He does a perfect job 100% of the time. If he charged $ 60 I would still use him but he offers the ridiculously low price of $ 13. He is so nice and always delivers exactly what you want. Now I don’t even have to tell him what I want, I simply walk in, he does his thing, and I leave with a great cut. Would recommend calling before you go and setting up an appointment. Hands down, the best barber in Los Angeles.

It’s rare that I find every 5 star review to be a legit review. Michel’s is one of those rare businesses that have earned its stripes! His little shop is a no frills, no BS, I’m in, I’m out, I’m happy! He’s quick, he’s skilled, and I’ve walked out consistently satisfied with my fine self — and that ain’t no lie.

Owner has been here 32 years and has tons of experience. I got a great hair cut for only $ 13! And no wait!

This is a huge find. Thanks to Unilocalers who have reviewed. Great hair cut with an asymmetrical bob and curly hair to boot! He’s has been in the biz for years and you can tell. He even offered tips for dying my hair at home to keep it looking healthy. And the price for a cut… $ 20! I must be dreaming!!! Will be back again and again.

I walked in and since he was booked, I got an appointment for the next day, which was today. I showed him a picture of how I wanted to cut my hair. The last time I’ve been to a salon was years ago because I don’t trust anyone cutting my hair and they always mess up on my cut. However, Michel is so freaken amazing. He takes his time, really asks you how you want it and make sure it turns out right, and asks for your opinion at the end before doing the final touch. I love my hair, I had long hair and decided to get a slight A cut/​bob and no regrets. I walked out feeling super happy and he’s so sweet!
Definitely the only salon I’m going to from now on. And 15 $ for a great cut! That’s an awesome deal, but do leave tips guys. He’s amazing and he deserves it.

I came to Michel’s because I was in desperate need of a haircut, but I did not want to drive all the way back to Tustin to get it cut.
Michel’s was cheap, had a good reviews, and is walking distance from home. Perfect for a guy who every summer buzz’s his hair off.
From the outside, and inside, this place does not look like much. This is not a decked out salon, or an old school barber shop. This is a place where you come, get your haircut, then go about your day. At first I was a bit skeptical, and felt a little apprehensive.
Many reviewers comment on that you need to say what you want, and that is very true. I am used to having my hair stylest just have total control. Here though I had to provide exact details on what I wanted.
The entire proces took 10ish minutes, cost me $ 13, and was exactly what I wanted. I was very happy with the end product.
If you know what you want, you don’t want to pay out the nose, and want the job done fast, this is the place for you.
