Walked in looking to replace my Kindle, which died en route to vacation. Got great customer service from Derec and even though there were several people ahead of me in line, there were plenty of open lanes with people getting through quickly.

i received and email from my MaxPerks account with OfficeMax that stated that you can get a $ 50 iTunes gift card for $ 40 a $ 10 savings. So i drove to this local OfficeMax to purchase the gift card and i showed the clerk and manager the email, they both looked at their phones as well and stated to me that the offer is online only and that i would have to order the gift card online in order to receive the $ 10 off. Either i’m a moron or the two employees are either stupid and dumb, because i did not purchase the iTunes gift card their since they did not offer me the same price for the same gift card while i was in the store. I purchased the same gift card at another store instead. The level of customer service was very disappointing and so i will not be purchasing any more products from my MaxPerks emails in this store ever. So thanks a lot OfficeMax! Great way to treat your MaxPerk customers!

In my experience, OfficeMax tends to be one of the least modern of the major office supply chains, less technology focused than Staples or Office Depot, but still strong in the basic supply business. While the service of the Pasadena location can be lackluster, you can discover interesting finds on the shelves. One of the best examples is the high quality Faber-Castell pencils and artist markers which tend to fetch a high price at art supply stores always seem to be on deep discount. If you’re looking for something to add a bit of flair to your next presentation or perhaps an alternative to traditional art supplies, OfficeMax is worth checking out.
