This place is amazing! Its an old fashioned nursery, with an amazing selection of plants pretty much anything you could want(maybe not the best rose selection but everything else.) All their plants are healthy, and their prices are very reasonable. I was there one morning and a couple of landscapers were there filling up their trucks. I think they sell alot of plants and that’s why everything looks so extremely fresh, they have a big turnover. Burkhardts Nursery in Pasadena used to be the really beautiful nursery when I was a child. Unfortunately that nursery should have closed its doors, its beyond dismal. I’m glad this place is right down the street.

I love it here. There is such a beautiful wide variety of plants. They also sell soil, pots, and beautiful garden décor for extremely reasonable prices. This has become my favorite nursery. I highly recommend it!

My go-to nursery for succulents(but they have so much more than just succulents, FYI!). Super nice and helpful guys. I love coming here and highly recommend it. Make sure to check out the awesome Mexican bakery down the street(2 min walk).

Pasadena Nursery is one of my favorite local nurseries. The staff are very friendly and attentive. They carry a good variety of drought tolerant and native plants, which are cheaper compared to other nurseries. We bought most of our drought tolerant plants from them. Unfortunately, they are smaller compared to other nurseries in Pasadena, so they don’t carry a big selection of fruit trees. Hope they add more fruit trees and vegetables soon! Glad to see that they seem to be doing well and growing. Check them out and replace your water hungry grass with beautiful flowering native plants!

I thoroughly enjoy shopping at this nursery ! I find the staff reasonably knowlegeable, the owner and family take great care of me and my crew when we are in «Emergency Status» hunting for something. Though Papa seems a bit shy for an onsite business owner, his son, Gilbert is particularly attentive and service is a formost concern for him. Their repair staff is good at what they do and we don’t seem to have to return our tools for take overs as in the case of other local service providers. Their plant selection and product durability is refreshing and very convenient to procure on our travels across the city for excellent quality plant stock for our clients. I will continue to enjoy their services and refer my clients to them directly. Thank you for filling a much needed service in our city ! Gwyny Pett Bottoms Up Gardens

I am surprised that the store does not have higher ratings. I feel like I should read them so I can address something that might be the cause. But I don’t have time for that. And although I’m very thankful for their help I’m not being paid by the store. I first came to the store because its next door to a place I needed to go anyway I have to say that shopping here is on par with Nordstroms or Saks. Beyond just the attention to customer service they are also incredibly knowledgeable. To me, to be honest, the knowledge is much more important than the service. I live much closer to a Home Depot but don’t mind a bit longer to drive especially when I’m buying plants. Before I would pick the plants that I like and hope that some of them lived. After working with these guys all of my plants live — they tell me which plants would do best and help me when I want plants that need slightly different conditions. The quality of plants is fantastic and the products they carry work wonderfully and they are just really easy to work with. I even have a wonderfully green yard. A first for me and without much cost. I just needed different kinds of grass for different areas. One last thing to mention is the organic mulch. You can skip the fertilizer when you use the organic mulch. Its in a yellow bag and you will do your plants your soil and the planet a favor. With healthy soil you don’t need fertilizer. This organic mulch creates a healthy environment for the diverse organisms that produce available nitrogen. Sent from my mobile

My partner in crime wanted to hit Home Depot for plants for our new converted patio. Home Depot is inconvenient from where we live and also funnels money to the Tea Party buffoons and so I suggested we take our business local. We tried the nursery by the Post Office(that’s been there for years) and we thought it was okay but nothing excited us. Then we tried one even closer to where we live and found the plants we needed. A little history here. This ‘Pasadena Nursery’ is on the corner of Marango and Orange Grove. There used to be a big sign on this empty lot… promising the latest construction rage: retail with apartments above. It regrettably never showed. So there was this empty lot for years… until one day… a bunch of plants showed up. No office, no signage, just fencing and plants. We figured it was the Post Office nursery storing additional plants. The place was almost always closed when I walked by(after 5) and so I figured it was never actually open. But it was. 7am to 5PM every day. The reason there’s no office is because the cash registers reside within the adjacent a lawn mower repair shop. Both stores are owned by the same owner — but this isn’t intuitive — since there’s a narrow road running between them. I suspect this nursery has lost a TON of business based upon this. The thing is that once you get it – this is actually a nice no frills neighborhood nursery. Just vibrant plants with a plenty of variety. It’s here we bought two plants and it’s here we will return because of the crazy convenience. If this isn’t convenient to you, give it a try. It humiliates Home Depot. :-)

Wow, Have you ever heard of anyone receiving a negative score? This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I was looking for different companies on line to work on my pressure washeer, Gilbert, the so called owner said no problem bring the pressure washer on in. Gilbert, then told me I will let you know in one week, sounded good to me. 1 week later, Gilbert, said the seal is bad, okay I authorized to order seal. Gilbert told me 1 more week, don’t worry about it, it will be taken care of. Great I felt re assured no problem. So another week goes by, take in mind I use this machine for work. So I called 1 week later, Gilbert was not in but the mechanic said no problem. its ready. Excited to pick up the washers, get to the door Gilbert said sorry its not ready you need a new pump. What? Your mechanic said it was ready, I know sorry… How long and how much $ 130.00 and it will take 1 week. Funny how everything is one week? So of course I wait one more week, call back, take in mind I’m always calling not the company. Call back one week later, its ready come by on Friday to pick up washer. Friday comes but i call and them I cant pick up washer until next week Wednesday, Wednesday comes drive back another 25 min, get to the door mechanic takes a look at me sorry not ready, I demanded to speak to Gilbert. Gilbert said sorry pump is not in, Now I don’t know about you but I’m steaming now! Told me I missed understood pump is not in? I demanded the pressure washer back, mechanics brought pressure to the front and told me $ 48.00, for what a tune up. I told Gilbert how can you give it a tune up if it wasn’t working in the first place? I told Gilbert I will not pay, mechanic then took the pressure washer back and said we will keep it until you pay. I demanded to speak to the owner Gilbert kept telling me he is the owner. I paid the $ 48.00. because I was so pissed off… Find out later Fransico his father is the owner. I will call the Pasadena Cityhall, Better Business Buerau, Unilocal and every social media about this company! Highway Robbery!

Francisco, the owner, has realized his dream of owning a nursery! Having started his business in power tool repair and landscaping, he has worked tirelessly to develop his corner lot into a lush nursery. He has a wide selection of plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, succulents and ground cover. It’s always a pleasure to visit his hyper local shop, he’s full of warmth and is always willing to answer your questions. The shop is always bustling with business between his thriving power tool repair shop in back, gardening and landscaping tools in front, and nursery across the alley. The best thing is that his prices are accessible which gives his customers every reason to shop at his store instead of a big box corporation. Francisco’s dream has turned a once blighted corner into an explosion of color and happiness!
