I waited for an hour with my 18 month old son. Dr. Randall’s staff didn’t have the courtesy to call and say they were running behind. Finally, I am called up to the office window so that they can charge me for my visit even though they haven’t done anything yet and won’t know what they’ll be doing. The fee is $ 300. They assure me that this will cover any initial exam along with x-Rays. Is free several more minutes of waiting, mention that it is getting increasingly more difficult to keep my son entertained, so 20 minutes later I’m placed in a tiny room to wait for the PA. 15 minutes later he comes in and proceeds to read someone else’s X-rays, telling me they look normal. After I tell him that those aren’t my x-Rays, he does a manual exam of my knee. He finds nothing apparently wrong beside the obvious swelling and suggests that x-Rays will likely show nothing irregular as well and suggests an MRI. A week later I find out that my insurance denied the MRI, stating that x-Rays are first required. So Dr. Randalls office called to schedule a second visit for x-Rays and assure me that there will be another fee. I asked if they’d consider including it in the initial $ 300 because I could have had them done that first day if I hadn’t resigned myself to the advice of their professional. They said ‘no’. It wasn’t a straight ‘no’. Instead, it was accompanied by several ‘I already told you’ and ’ I left that in your message’ and ‘you have to pay again’. No kindness. No courtesy. Just rude abrasiveness and apparent bother. Save your money. I can’t help but think this is a routine tactic to amass more money from their trusting clients.
