Signed up for their 4 week adult workshop and found that it was a private session. Yay for me. I got two hours of my woodworker’s full attention. She was awesome and helpful and fun to hang out with. I made my first little box! Totally a good deal. And awesome set-​up.

This is a review specifically for their adult woodworking class.
I was looking for a beginner’s woodworking workshop for myself, but the other ones I’ve looked at were a bit intimidating (and kinda expensive for my budget). At first I thought they only offered classes for children, but I looked through their website and there it was, classes for adults! I was hyped! The projects looked so cute. I wanted to learn the basics. Woodworking is pretty fun, but you also have to be patient. Blue, the instructor, was super awesome! She gave a lot of suggestions and was supportive in whatever you wanted to create (as long as they had the tools and materials available). They offer the class inside one of their school buses (very spacious, looks really cool).
I would go again if my schedule permitted it.

Came here for the first time during Pasadena Art Night. I loved the street art work. This is art for the community without the contrived, over-​exhausted pretension of a quiet art musueum where everything is encased in glass or distanced behind velet rope and you feel guilty for whispering too loudly. This is a place where you can admire an art display made of tires, a sowing machine powered by a bicycle, a moving dining table powered by six bicycles and talk to the artist.
I plan on coming back to try out the workshops. More reviews to folllow.

Side Street is a fabulous organization for artists and run by artists. They offer workshops that help/​support artists as they get their hustle on. They also offer web 2.0 classes for people who want to put up their own website. NICE!!! finally they has a kick ass school but that has been changed into a traveling woodshop. yes, you can totally rent out the bus for b-​days.
