Sierra Doughnut

Too many air pockets in the pastries, and the layer of chocolate is too thin and dry. The toppings are sparse. The dough doesn’t taste fresh. What the hell happened to this place?! It used to be better. The place looks crappy, run down, and depressing. It’s always hot and stuff in here, even with the doors open, and the plague of flies make me wonder if Beezlebub works here. The staff was rude to us, as well.

Love the donuts and muffins, but the owner and his family are frosting on top! Could not ask for a nicer family. Makes me want to stop by just to say hello.

Run down little donut shop. Ordered a thai ice tea. It was so watered down and the color was bright orange. For $ 2 or any amount, wouldn’t come back here again.

Had a donut from here and it was delicious! Super soft, and great flavor. The glazed donut treated like it had a hint of vanilla. I’ll be coming back here soon!

There is no single superior butternut doughnut that the one thy have. I love butternut doughnuts and I’ve tried them at over 3 dozen Pasadena area doughnut shops and these are the best. Give them a try and you won’t be disappointed!

im only leaving this review out of dissapointment .
i took my 6 and 3 yeaor old in for a donut.
i see donuts in the case.
the owner comes out and says they are closed.
turns us away and says to come back tomorrow.
no thanks.

My boss brings these donuts into the office for us. One word — DELICIOUS!

Jalapeño ham and cheese croissant is our favorite. Go here pretty often because of location and donuts/​croissants are always consistently good. However, when the customer asks for a slice a lemon for my iced tea… Please don’t tell me to go to Albertson’s next door if I really want lemon. No joke! I boycotted the place for several months but then we craved our jalapeño croissant!

Great donuts… even made some recommendations that were tasty. Also saw a celebrity — jockey Mike Smith. Highly recommended.

The Donuts are always good, the family that runs this place are very polite and quick on service.
This place is very close to my house especially when i want donuts with my weekend paper.

Best donuts around, hands down! They sell out of the popular varieties sometimes (like Saturday mornings), but that just tells me that EVEYRBODY likes Sierra! Everyone is friendly, and like others have said, you really can’t leave without a smile on your face.

Family run doughnut place, saw the kids doing a super job running the counter and helping other customers. Fast and courteous service. With plenty of doughnuts to choose from, I was able to have my favorite doughnut for breakfast: chocolate covered custard filled. It was fresh and super soft, I should have gotten milk to help wash down the sweetness.
The store doesn’t stay open late since all the doughnuts would be gone, but a night owl can dream *hoot hoot*

But, I have two words for you when I think of Sierra Donuts:

Holy cow are these good!

11:30 on a Sat morning and no glazed old fashioned donuts left. They only take cash, coffee was acceptable and service was with a smile. «Charming» old man crowd seemed like regulars.
I got a glazed buttermilk donut instead and it was fine. This place is just whatever…

Good service, and the prices are a lot more reasonable than the other guys. The selection is good, even if you walk in late in the day. Everything I’ve tried has been a winner.

Not too good. The raised donut with chocolate was greasy and layer of chocolate was thin and tasteless. The cake doughnut with peanuts had barely any nuts on it and most of the glaze (and nuts) fell off during the first bite. The rest of the donuts our small group ordered weren’t any better. The young man behind the counter appeared bothered that it was taking us a few minutes to make our decision. The store was not busy and there wasn’t anyone else waiting. A woman did walk in while we were telling him our choices and he walkied away from us, without comment, and helped her. I could understand if she had come in while we were looking and deciding, but we had actually begun telling him our order. There are much better donuts in town, so we’ll skip Sierra in the future.

I like to stop here for croissants on the way to work. They’re fantastic — big, light, great texture inside and out. $ 1.50 each. Bring cash. Recommended.

A nice old fashioned family run donut shop. Made fresh during the day the case inside is filled with wonderful pastries all day. There are tables outside that in the morning are filled with older men sitting around like the cracker barrel in the old country store.
You can’t go wrong looking for great donuts, sorry they are not open 24 hours a day.

I have a thing for devil’s food donuts. I got 2 here for $ 1.30 on Friday night at 6pm. I gave one to my mom, and shared the other one with my 2yr old nephew.
I can spoil dinner time, I’m the aunt. He’ll still eat the good stuff and then we’ll spend the evening running around.
The donuts were a big hit, I had share with more people and I am being sent there in the morning for a dozen.
The guy behind the counter was super nice and friendly and after the fun day I had at the DMV and the car dealership, this was a great treat.
