Been wanting a ‘real burger’ for a minute, so looked on Unilocal and came across this place. I’ve seen it while driving home from work and it was always busy. So today after class field trip near Rose Bowl, decided to give it a try. I ordered a cheese burger combo. Okay the patty was thick! It reminded me of my father’s burgers at his own restaurant when I was a kid. They aren’t small burgers either, but quite large. I really loved the cheese they used as well. I couldn’t finish all of it, but took out most of it. I have a grown son who loves burgers and will have to take him here. Customer service was great and so was the food.

One of our favorite places to grab a bite when we visit our kids in Pasadena! Love their big, juicy cheese burgers!

This place does not disappoint. They make what they make because they’ve almost perfected it. If you’re looking for burgers/burritos, you won’t go wrong by coming here. This time I went with the classic cheeseburger combo. Cheeseburger: Thick juicy patty, gooey melted cheese, nicely grilled buns, a good slice of tomato/onion, and shredded lettuce(using this is so much better than whole leave just for the convenience of eating). Homemade thousand island inside the burger works well, it’s good and not as acidic/sour as other places(just adds to the creaminess and richness of the burger imo). Fries: Classic crinkle-cut fries. I’m not a fan of these fries just because I’m more of a shoestring/thin-cut fries but it still goes well with the burger. They fry them well, crispy outside and fluffy inside(if you eat it fresh/immediately) but don’t have any seasoning [this is where you can use the seasoned salt they have if you want to]. Drink: I know it’s odd to review the drink but this is probably the only place I’ve ever had my soda enjoyable from the first sip. They just use a normal soda fountain so I’m not sure what they do but when I drink it, the carbonation is at a level that’s perfect: fizzy enough to give a crisp flavor but mild enough to not hurt your throat when you take a large sip. I thought this was an appropriate mention just because there’s never been a place I’ve gone to that has such… well-balanced(?) soda… yeah, sounds weird now that I typed it out. Environment/Workers: Owned by a Korean(?) couple that expects you to know what you want when you stand at the window. Don’t be that person that stands there and just asks the cashier a million questions, they’re busy and catering to questions just delays the food that others are waiting to pick up. Seating is a few tables around the corner and it’s served in to-go boxes for convenience. All in all, if you’re hungry for a burger, burrito, or maybe even a teriyaki bowl, this place is a safe bet for all three. It might not have the best of all three but they make damn good food at a pretty good price.

Love is a four letter word I have for this place. I randomly found myself in Pasadena one afternoon and decided to give this place a try after reading the reviews. I was not disappointed. I can usually finish a Double Double at In n Out, and decided to get a double double here too. When I got my combo, drinks and fries included, I was shocked over the weight of my food, it was far too heavy. When I opened my food, I was shocked over the thickness of the burger. Upon first bite, I was met with such flavor. The meat is very thick and well seasoned. I could barely finish the burger because it was so huge! Overall, one of my favorite burger places to hit up, do not be fooled by the outside appearance as it is what is in the inside that counts. Definitely a must try.

I’m not joking when I say this is THE best burger I’ve ever had. My husband ordered a double cheeseburger with triple cheese and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with double cheese. When we took a bite(of both burgers) we just sat there in pure joy of how delicious the juicy meat and cheese were. I could only finish half of my burger but I’m already looking forward to finishing the rest. My husband is still talking about his burger, three hours later. The owners are super sweet and awesome!

Recently the fam has been on a burger kick and although I have been minimally consuming meat, this was in fact the best mom and pop burger I have ever had. Thanks to Unilocaler Joy C for her recommendation. If you have ever stopped eating meat for awhile, having that first bite of meat can sometimes be unpleasant and basically like an assault on your palate, like something wrong is going into your mouth. Everything was right here. Food: Something about a classic, simple and completely understated cheeseburger can send you palate to the next level. Their perfectly charred juicy patties with warmed buns and a perfect balance of lettuce, tomato and onion did the trick. It kicks shake shack out of the water. This burger is the stuff of dreams. I don’t f*** around with extras although I am sure bacon and avocado is stellar, when here for the first time, get a cheeseburger, pure and unadulterated. It even passed the still delicious after 3 hours of being a leftover. Imagine a burger that somehow manages to magically retain that seared meat crust, I found the unicorn my friends. Ambience: Not a fancy burger like Slaters but it has that old school 1960s charm with a storefront that is just as old. It isn’t trying to be anything, it just is and it is damn near perfect. Take any burger lover here and if they aren’t you friend they will be by that first bite. Outdoor seating under a nice bit of rooftop with parking close enough to hide in you car if you need to sneak off on your cheat day. Bottom line: Get your burgers here son, trust. 100.

So I finally checked this place out for lunch after passing by it numerous times. All those times I passed by, I always saw a lot of people in line ordering and eating! I really had no idea what to expect and assumed that it would be your typical fast food quality good, but I was so so wrong when I got my burger. This is a nice corner restaurant that is easy to spot, but a little hard to find parking. There is street parking on the sides but it really depends if it’s rush hour when you come. They have a nice organized menu that features your typical assortment of burgers, sandwiches, burritos, and teriyaki. I had no clue what to order and the nice lady immediately remarked that a lot of my coworkers have always come to eat and love it. How come I was never told?! She informed me to stick with the cheeseburger and I went with her suggestion. After waiting a while for my food, the cheese burger finally came out and it was huge!!! Take a look at my picture and you’ll know what I mean. It smelled amazing and had your lettace, tomatoes, two slices of cheese, one thick patty, and thousand island sauce sandwiched between two buns. I was expecting a typical smaller sized burger but the beef patty in this was thick and looked so juicy. My first bite into it was simply bliss, it was your classical cheese burger taste with the addition of a juicy patty. I honestly would rather come get the cheeseburger here then go to In N Out and that means a lot because I love the burgers there. I really fell in love with the cheeseburger here and can’t wait to come back to try out the rest of their menu(breakfast burrito).

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but these reviews are right — the food here is good. Parking is hard but we found some in the neighborhood right nearby. A sweet little Korean lady takes your order at the window and there’s some cafeteria seating outside. Had the burger, absolutely delicious, I ate the whole thing. Also tried some onion rings that were delicious, and another friend got a teriyaki bowl that he loved too. Yum!

This wonderful burger stand is 5 stars again in my book! I started coming here 2 years ago and made the mistake of ordered a DOUBLE cheeseburger combo.(I was thinking in n out size, boy was I wrong.) I probably ate about half of the burger and half of the fries and was stuffed! But nonetheless I was HOOKED! Such a great family running this corner spot. The mom is so nice and makes sure you’re a happy camper. Recently though, they began to go downhill and I was terribly disappointed. The patties are handmade here which is part of the burger being so amazing, but we were getting burgers that were too under cooked. Especially when ordering it well done. I gave it a few more tries thinking it was a simple mistake but every order(maybe once a week) was coming with the middle of the pattie being almost raw, and again, being ordered well done. Trust me, it was a huge shocker. Then they changed the fries, from very crispy crinkle fries to steakhouse wedge style fries. Which was a huge downer for me. Obviously if you’re this far down in my review, you can tell I’m a foodie. And to me, crinkle fries are THE best. I didn’t see the point in changing them. :( BUT, at last!, the food gods must have struck lighting down because my crinkle fries are back!!! And the patties and cook temp are better than ever! Thank you Super Burger and the food gods! I love you Super Burger. I always have. Thank you for coming back and filling this hole in my heart. You left me a scar that I will never forget. But now our love is better yet.

«BESTBURGERINPASADENA? I’D HAVETOCONCUR» Pros: — Giant Burger(and it was only the single, not the double) — The bun is crunchy — Inexpensive. For $ 10, I was pretty stuffed. Cons: — Fries were not special at all. Seemed frozen — About as hole as hole in the walls get. Mental Note: Skip the fries and get the Double instead(food coma inevitable).

We just finished a great hike at Eaton Canyon & thought we’d reward ourselves with a yummy lunch. After swiping thru a few of the pix & reviews on Unilocal,we decided we needed Super Burger in our lives. OMG this place was beyond DEElicious. Everything was top notch… even the Ranch &1,000 Island. The Spicy Pork… OMG I’m not supposed to eat Pork(Medical Reasons) but I’d risk it for that. We can’t wait to go hiking again so we can stop at Super Burger again. OHOHOHOH& the lady at the counter, so nice. I love her.

Updating my review, as I’ve concluded that these are the BEST burgers in Pasadena. That says alot in a city with really good burger options. You see a lot of working people coming here, because pops on the grill hooks you up with hungry-man sized portions. You can be satisfied with the basic burger, or you can get silly and pick up the ridiculously sized teriyaki burger or the sublime avocado cheese burger. Its all amazing. Oh, and the onion rings are on point, too. Again: best burgers in Pasadena.

Home is just up the street, my roomie said this spot was surprisingly good, it’s affordable, and one of my favorite things in the world is a good burger and fries. So I think the reason it took me so long to try this place, is because I judged a book by its cover. My bad, I now regret taking so long to try what was a really good cheeseburger. I ordered the basic cheeseburger and fries, thought I’d play it safe on my first visit and was really impressed. The ingredients were very fresh tasting but what really impressed me was that it was perfectly cooked and the quality of meat was top tier. On my next visit, I’m going to really cheat and order a pastrami! My only complaint is, that as someone who doesn’t eat ketchup, I like blue cheese or ranch with my fries. I saw a sign that said ranch was $ 0.50 so I went to my car to get some change but when I gave it some more thought, I decided not to get it. I hate being nickeled and dimed.

tl;dr: Sizable patty is juicy and thick, nice melt on the cheese. Construction issues with bun falling apart and shredded lettuce slipping out. Avocado(xtra) and tomato are fresh. Crinkle-cut fries are well made… **** Not quite the neighborhood greasy spoon like Tip Top is but I would have to say that there are a lot of good things to like about Super Burger. Against the backdrop of the nearby San Gabriel mountains, this is a stand-alone walk-up burger stand of yesteryear, complete with outdoor pastel colored polyethylene tables covered by a corrugated, galvanized metal patio cover with the paint peeling off(you just have to appreciate nostalgic places like this they’re a dying breed)… Really juicy burger patty with melted yellow cheese is a definite selling point of SB, there’s a good savory unami taste to the grilled meat. I would say that a single patty w/cheese is the subjective equivalent in size of a double-double at In-and-Out, they’re quite substantial. The bun which was your run-of-the-mill soft and squishy variety might have fared better containing only a single but disintegrated under the weight of a double patty. Other construction issues include SB’s decision to use shredded lettuce instead of a whole leaf, most of which combined with the thousand island dressing and meat juices wound up squirting out with each Jim Carrey Mask-like attempt at a bite. It’s challenging enough with a tomato but the avocados would also try to escape, both of which were fresh btw. Mea culpa for not taking the advice of some of the reviewers to stick with a single instead of a double cheeseburger; along with the added avocado, it became much too unwieldy to hold and it became an unmitigated mess to eat… SB gives you a generous amount of well made crinkle-cut fries which I gravitated to more so because my burger was so messy. As it was, I probably left a third of my meal behind… The people behind the window were Asian and have that mom-n-pop appeal to it, accommodating. I was there from 100 to 130pm on a Wednesday and they seemed to have a steady stream of business. Parking on the street isn’t an issue in general in this neighborhood but it’s nice that they have four or five parking spaces of their own. I would revisit SB if I were closeby…

Super burger is the place to go for a quick quality burger! It’s really a hidden gem! The owner here is super friendly and everything is made fresh to order. They serve juicy quarter pound patties with the toppings of your choice. Make it a combo and it’s still under $ 7.00. If you’re super hungry go for the double! It won’t disappoint! The burgers here looks like they came straight out of a Carl’s Jr commercial. They are literally big enough to cover my face! If you love bulgogi then get the Teriyaki burger! It’s loaded with flavor and you’ll be good for the day! I consider myself pretty sensitive to the food I eat. You can rest assured that the food here won’t make you sick nor bloated. :]

Came here after hiking Eaton Canyon. We were starving and this place was on the way back home so we stopped by. This hamburger joint has probably been here forever — the establishment looks like it has been(not in any negative way). It looks like a family run restaurant which is always a plus. Only outside seating available. After reading some reviews regarding the huge portion, my GF and I decided to share a combo instead of getting one each. Double Cheeseburger Combo with Fries and a Drink(around $ 9.50). The Cheeseburger was huge! Each patty was probably twice or even three times as big as a In-N-Out patty. The patties were juicy and flavorful and had a nice crust/sear on them. The veggies were fresh and crisp and the cheese was perfectly melted. The fries were great — very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside just how I like them. Depending on the size of your drink — refilling will cost you between $ 0.25-$ 0.75 or something around that.

This place has thee best burgers. Well that’s my opinion. It even bets out all those fancy burger joints. The burgers are reasonable price. Burgers are huge and juice. This time around the owner(male) cooked my burger. He did a great job. But I do love how the son cooks his burgers. Don’t get me wrong the burgers are still amazing! This time around my fries were just a little over done. Orange bang on point. Burger definitely on point. They make the burgers the way you like it. If your ever around you have to try it out. I’ve made a few friends of mine try it out and they loved it.

Summary: totally sketch outside, gigantor burgers, day-old freezer fries, and a ¾ full drink. Damn. I really wanted to like this place. We got the cheeseburger combos($ 7): a single cheeseburger, French fries, and a drink. The cheeseburger was huge with a thick patty — per other reviews I added grilled onions to mine. The tomato and lettuce were fresh, there was ludicrously delicious amounts of cheese, the grilled onions were tasteless, and though the patty was under-seasoned the juicy meat shined through: pretty solid B+. It curved the juicy burger craving. The combos come with what I surmount to be a pound of fries — unfortunately they’re equivalent to Costco fries — obviously were frozen and definitely a day or two old — bleghhh. They also only filled both of our drinks ½ — ¾ full and refills cost money here. :( We might go back when we just want a solid burger — wish they served something edible to go with it though.
