Visiting from Dallas Texas, came to Tostada Regia to have brunch. The place sits on the most competitive part of Houston. With its majority of Hispanic population there are many Mexican places to eat and drink. Came here expecting amazing Mexican food. I was a bit disappointed in the food. Here are some points. Food: key ingredients in Mexican cousins, missing a key element; salt. The food was bland. Atmosphere: nice. Relax. Price: good price for bug portions. Service :… None existint. Good thing Dallas has more restaurant per capita than any other state. No more houston.

Saw two 5 star reviews so I decided to try this place out. The food was good(Not amazing) I had the Taco Gigante and it came with rice soup. The taco itself was actually delicious, except it could’ve maybe had a little more guacamole. There was one down side to the taco; It was served upside down and it being a giant taco, I couldnt just flip it over without a lot of the chicken, sour cream, and guac falling out if it. Their aguas frescas are delicious(specifically the pineapple flavored and the horchata). Husband had 3 gringos and a good portion size side of rice and beans(sides were added on for only $ 1 each !) which was also pretty good for the price. Food came out pretty quick, was also very authentic. Our waitress however only checked on us once, and I had to wait a good while to get my drink refilled. We both ate fairly well for the whole meal being a little under $ 20.

I would def recommend this place! I come here often, and for the most part never unsatisfied. I’ve had several things on the menu and loved it all! The only thing I would say is beware coming on Sundays at lunch time. This is a family restaurant and always seems to be very full on Sundays. Love this place

Either of the four locations of La Tostsda Regia will take your taste buds to a magical tour to… perhaps Tacos Leal, in Monterrey, Mexico. OK, maybe those who know Tacos Leal will tell me: «Tacos Leal have more choices, and salsas are more core-flavour», but I will stick to my guns: La Tostada Regia are the closest to the Monterrey flavor of the Pirata Taco in the Houston area. Service is very diligent, too. I came on a rainy day and the security guard met me in my car, with his umbrella all ready and a big smile on his face. That shows attention to detail from management, a rare occurrence in today’s restaurant industry. Tortas are also very good. big and loaded with plenty of whatever you choose. For those wanting to follow Spanish soccer matches broadcasted by FOX-Fut-Bol, you will be pleased to seat in the bar area, and chant«gooool», drink some cold ones and be merry among friends.
