The quality of the decorations has definitely deteriorated over the years. Many houses are not participating anymore and those that do have some pathetic lights on their roof. There are very few houses that actually go all out with the Christmas decorations. I am back again in 2025 and I vow that that will be my last time.

In the winter holiday season this neighborhood traditionally puts up many nice electric displays featuring lights, large displays, nativities, and lasers. It is a lot of fun to drive around and hop out once in a while for some photos.

This past Holiday season I was super excited to take my girls to Hastings, but upon entering I was very disappointed. As a child, I remember every house being lit up, but now it’s very sparse. I give it up to those residents who still participate. This is a staple event in Pasadena. My family would pile up in the car and drive around admiring the décor. It used to take so long to get through due to the high volume of traffic. Now, it’ll take you about 15 minutes or less to drive through. It is something nice to see while it’s still there. In a few years I don’t see it happening at all :|

Maybe my expectations were too high, but it was a disappointment for me. Came here the day after Christmas, but there are less participants than non-participants, and the lights are much more impressive in other neighborhoods. Few houses have good lights, but none of them really wow-ed me. They were definitely not worth the time we took to get there.

I went on the 23rd, I loved how the different streets had a different theme. One of my favorite houses was the one where I had to connect to the radio and the music was in sync with the display. Very creative! Loved it.

Great to come and see Christmas lights from an entire neighborhood. Granted… this year not ALL houses were decorated, but it was nice to drive down multiple streets and see some holiday spirit. Our kids enjoyed it and that’s really what it’s all about!

Not many lights and not many participants. There were street themes like candy cane, peace, and christmas trees etc. But on some of the streets, the signs were the only things lit up and folks had lights just on a wall or like a blow up n bush with lights. We came twice cuz the first time we came too early but not much had changed this time either. So not worth the travel, to see the 1970 nativity scenes. Smh what a disappointment. Got more excitement from circling my neighborhood and lookin at the lights. Unless u live close by Save your gas n time.

Really neat to see the community light up! Each street is a different«theme» and you could tell as you drive by because there are plaques where you won’t be able to miss.

Hastings Ranch in Pasadena is THE place to come for Christmas Lights. Ever since I was a kid, I have always enjoyed all of the incredibly beautiful, elaborate decorated homes on every single block we come across(worth the drive to come out and several blocks to see). In fact, it is a family tradition to make a trip up here during the winter holiday each year. Each street has this cute themed wooden display placed by each tree outside of each home. Some of these themed wooden displays include a turtle, an ice skating polar bear and snowman. Not every home participates, but the strong majority does have their homes decked out with lights and inflatable holiday décor. Some homes have music playing and some have projectors playing scenes from a holiday movie or cartoon. My husband and I usually like to drive through most of the streets instead of getting out and walking because of how cold it is. But sometimes when we see a really amazing decorated house, we will park and walk over to get some photos. Just be sure to dress warmly for the occassion. Holiday lights usually last through Jan 1, which means there is still time to check out this place and help keep you in the holiday spirit before the new year arrives.
