I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know the staff here at vip… I’ve observed all of them and seen them stand out in their own particular way. Not only are they all good but their deeply invested in their art.
MY girl is ARLENE. Found her on ig and fell in love. Arlene listens, cares, assesses the quality of my hair like it is her own. She took my fine black box dye hair to caramel, honey beige, then to icey pearl blonde repeatedly. Never once did she allow me to leave with an unnatural color during the process of color correction. Arlene has shown me the difference between expensive looking blonde and cheap blonde. My blonde IS SHINY and flows. And ladies if u can’t have both .don’t go blonde! Haha My hair always maintains its thickness and toner with Arlene. The only other person I’d trust with my hair is Arlenes assistant BROOKE… who is always at her side… going back and forth speaking foreign hair codes to Arlene. I just stare at them thinking «ya! Ya! Ya! Brooke is attentive, poised, and doesn’t miss a beat! I have found my hair team for life.

This review is mainly about My stylist, Jeff. I met Jeff at the end of 2012 at a salon in Pasadena where he was working at the time. I was walking out of the salon after my waxing appointment and Jeff handed me a free blowout card. I was pretty loyal to my stylist at the time but I decided to give him a chance. My 1^st appointment was on NYE and I walked out of the salon with the biggest, sexiest Victorias Secret hair I had ever seen! Not too long after that I got my first hair cut from Jeff which was AMAZING! I knew was hooked. Soon I was rockin’ the sickest ombré in town! Jeff is truly a hair genius and artist! I’m now a member of his membership program and I couldn’t be happier. VIP Salons is right in the heart of Pasadena and offers $ 25 Happy Hour Blowouts on Fridays with complimentary mimosas and desserts! PERFECT way to kick off the weekend with your girlfriends. Happy customer!

Got my hair done with Melissa. Received a Kerastase treatment which left my hair feeling amazing! Ive bleached my hair to lighten it which was a big mistake because i lost my curls and softness. Kerastase just about brought it back. Its not cheap but if you love yourself you will take care of yourself with this necessary treatment. You will not regret it! Smells heavenly and it lasts a few shampoos!!!

Highly recommended coming here ladies! First time to this salon and I loved it! I was quick and quickly attended to and was given champagne and strawberry! I absolutely loved my hair and Melissa is so good and fast!

Amazing work! Everyone there is a true professional! Super cute place. Easily accessible. Parking is right but plenty on the side not visible from the street. Melissa Lemon is on point! Fixed my bad haircut and color… and made it FIERCE!!! Love her!

Jeff is awesome! Cuts and colors hair so amazingly! Been going to him for over a year now and I’m always so happy when I leave!!! And he’s super fun too! I’ve always been so scared to experiment with my hair but I haven’t been disappointed yet!

I la-​la-​love Brooke! I first came to Brooke a year ago with box dyed burgundy hair and have made her my go-​to since. She helped correct the color and took me from a burgundy mess to a beautiful honey blonde. She then was able to ombré my hair into a lighter blonde, and has followed me in my hair journey from blonde to a chocolate brown. My hair has never grown as much or as healthy thanks to the care she exercises with all my changes. I would definitely recommend her!

I followed Esther from another salon and I would totally recommend her!!! my hair has gained strength, the color is amazing and it’s getting much healthier each time I go!!! Thank you Esther!

Esther is great! I’ve been a friend and a client of Esther’s for years… so where ever she is I follow. My hair always looks good and I get a plenty of compliments.
I especially love the new place. The staff is friendly and very warm. Its bright, roomy and actually a fun place to be. Stress free environment, a place to be just to relax and have good conversation… oh and my hair done.

I recommend Esther Vasquez I followed her from a previous salon, and I was so happy to follow her here! Esther Has been able to restore my hairs strength and shine, with olaplex treatments, great hair cutting, color, and styling. BTW I have very textured hair, she is so experienced and educated that she really does know every hair texture and type. She is a master!

I have been going to Arlene for almost a year now. She recently relocated to VIP Salons and I couldn’t be happier!
The salon is bight and clean and the other stylist are wonderful! They’re all very friendly and make you feel so welcomed!
And of course my favorite is Arlene! She does the best hair! From the color to the haircut to the styling she is hands down the best out there. And I won’t go see anyone but her!
If you are looking for someone who does awesome hair and loves what they do then look no further. You will be completely satisfied with Arlene. She’s also so sweet and fun to just chill with while getting all glammed up.

Went in for a simple man’s hair cut. Not happy at all, Theresa didn’t pay attention to the shape of my head, cut uneven and sloppy. Not coming back.

I had a great day with Norma! ! She’s the best! I love the color and my layers. I’ve sent friends and coworkers to her and everyone is super happy with the service :) Norma is great at what she does, the salon is beautiful and keep in touch with them, they have some great promotions and events coming up! !!

Eric Valintin is the best he has been doing my hair for over 15 years I always come back. He colors and cut my hair so it looks good on me I love him

I had been getting no-​frills haircuts here for a year or two when it was called «Fantazy» and kept returning because the haircuts were good, there was rarely a wait longer than five or ten minutes, and the price (for a men’s cut) was well under $ 20.
It was a surprise to see a complete remodel and new name, «VIP Salons,» when I came in recently, and almost immediately the stylist on duty started aggressively lobbying me to write a glowing Unilocal review for the new business name. I didn’t see a problem with that because of past experience, the place looked nice so I just rolled with the change and got the cut. Although the stylist was new to me, the cut was good as usual and she paid attention to what I wanted her to do. But the keywords here are: «past experience.» When I got to the counter to pay up, I about fell on my backside when she said «That’s thirty.»

I didn’t say anything, but what a kick in the teeth. There was no placard out front stating the new prices — the previous place had one — so this was a total shock. A price hike of a couple of dollars would’ve been tolerable given the remodel and rebranding, but a jump from $ 18 to $ 30 overnight?
That’s a * * 67% price increase * * in a single pop.
This is a standard error newbie business owners make:
Basing one’s pricing on wishful thinking and counting money before it arrives, while utterly ignoring supply, demand and existing customer base. I like a good haircut, but there’s a truism a friend of mine is fond of saying: «The only difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is two weeks.» I am not going to pay $ 30 for a basic haircut, and I am not going to return to a place that shoves a 67% price hike in my face as if it’s no big deal.
Note to VIP Salons: You don’t build a business by throwing away an already-​existing customer base with outrageous pricing. And I guess I’ll be looking for another place to get my hair cut — which is an annoyance, but not a problem, ’cause there are lots of them available. I expect that «VIP Salon» will soon become just a pretty remodeling job that is empty of customers. Disappointing.

Come see Erik V. He is a great hairstylist and friend! Parking here is a bit tough but it’s ok. Lots of places to eat nearby from Houston’s to casual L&L BBQ and Teri&Yaki.

Brand new and beautiful inside. Theresa has been cutting my hair for years at another business, and to my great joy she has transferred to VIP. It had taken me 6+ months to find someone who could do a simply guy’s cut, and not make me look like either a wannabe Hollywood hipster, or a 75 year old Physics teacher (nothing against physics). Theresa is awesome, extremely personable, and I now consider her a friend.
Highly recommend VIP.

Great staff and wonderful service. I definitely found a new home in getting a haircut. The staff was very helpful and well informed. I didn’t feel that up selling pressure that most places tend to deliver.
