This is a restaurant concept I would like to see more: Quality product(in this case just simply quality chicken) surrounded by no frills and customers of all walks of life.

This is one of my favorite spots. I have eaten at the Hollywood location the Glendale location and the Pasadena location and I will tell you they are all fantastic. Chicken & beef kabobs are very good, the garlic(sauce?) brings out the flavor in every dish I have eaten watch out you will not go unnoticed after eatting it!!! It’s all worth it I highly recommend this restaurant

For anyone who come here. Beware of the short skinny cashier and the medium height but chunky cook. If you need some more sauce or ask for more pita bread they will literally talk shit about you and make fun of you in front of you. When I picked up my order I asked for 2 pita breads so I don’t have to keep bothering them, the cook takes only one pita bread turns around and gives me the rudest stare, throws the pita bread onto my plate and rolls his eyes. I had no intentions of making his day worse and did nothing at all to him. I mean the food is good but the service could be so much better

Best Mediterranean spot in Orange County. Their Chicken is . I can bath in the garlic sauce, but I rather slap it on my chest and get weird.

Ever since I came here the first time I knew I had to come back! The food here is sooo good & made fresh to order. It can be busy during peak hours especially on weekend lunch and dinner hours. All the previous times I went, I always got the chicken kabob plate but this time I tried new items on the menu! I tried the Tabbouleh which is parsley, onion, tomatoes, lemon juice, salt & olive oil. It’s pretty strong on it’s lemon taste so if you don’t like REALLY like lemon, then you might not like this. I also got the cabbage salad, which is a new menu item. It’s sliced red and green cabbage, mint, lemon juice, paprika, garlic and olive oil. I love this and I’m most likely getting it again the next time I go. It’s very refreshing and I love the crunchiness. The lemon taste was not too distinct, which is why I liked this more than the tabbouleh! I also tried the Quarter White Chicken Plate which comes with veggies, pita and a side of hummus. This chicken isn’t marinated in spices unlike the kebabs so it’s more plain. It’s good when you eat it with the hummus in a pita rather than alone. This is a healthier alternative! Then I also got the Chicken Kabob Plate — which comes with a side of hummus, roasted veggies, rice and pita. All this for 2 people and we got food coma after but it was definitely a well worth meal. Garlic sauce is free and is complimentary with your orders. Ask for more! It’s so yummy. There’s no added butter, margarine, eggs, milk etc. It’s vegetable oil, salt and garlic. The garlic taste is strong on the mouth so after you eat it, you better stay away from people! Worth it though :) Parking is street parking or you can just turn into one of those small streets and park on the curb.

I was visiting the boyfriend over the weekend and since we had a late lunch, we ended up having a later dinner. I wasn’t really particular about what I wanted, but I finally got hungry around 9 p.m. so the BF suggested Zankou. He lived nearby, so we knew it wouldn’t be a problem to get take-out. Even though I wasn’t starving, the chicken was so good that I ended up eating a lot more than I imagined I would. I only had Zankou once before, but I knew that it was delicious, based on previous experience. You have to find street parking for this location, but it wasn’t too much of a problem since it was later on a Sunday evening. I was surprised at how many people were still in the grab-n-go eatery, getting take-out like us. The workers here were really friendly, and they were patient with my indecisiveness. Since the boyfriend and I were sharing, we just decided to get one plate, since it was getting late and we didn’t want to be too full. Here’s what we got, as well as what I would order next time. Great to know that there’s a Zankou in the area: «Half Rotisserie Chicken»: This entre features one half rotisserie chicken served with hummus, tomatoes, a garlic spread, pickles and pita bread. Since I don’t like tomatoes, we asked if we could sub with the Tabbouleh Salad instead. This salad includes chopped tomatoes, minced parsley and diced onions, mixed with lemon and oil. I didn’t eat too much of the Tabbouleh, but I do love parsley, and when it’s mixed with lemon and oil, it’s like magic. So flavorful! I ate some of this, but I ate way more of the hummus and pita that came with the meal. I love this rotisserie chicken because it’s soft, tender and ultra flavorful. You don’t have to chew a whole lot while eating, and the chicken can easily be cut(no sawing). This dish is great for sharing and it’s plenty of food for two people if you’re not starving. The garlic spread is still my favorite part of the dish. I not only spread it liberally on my pita, but also dunked chunks of chicken in it. «Chicken Tarna»: If I were coming here for lunch or wanted a simple wrap, this is the one I would get. It features marinated and flame-broiled chicken, tomatoes and garlic spread wrapped in freshly baked pita. I would probably just order mine sans the tomatoes, but since I know I already love the chicken here, I’m sure I would be pleased with this entrée. «Chicken Grilled Skewers»: While I love the rotisserie chicken, I do want to branch out and try some of the other things on the Zankou menu. If I went with skewers, this would be my first choice. It features marinated chicken, rice, tomatoes, spiced onions, hummus and pickles. Again, I would see if I could take out the tomatoes or sub them for something else. I’m glad this entrée comes with rice; it seems like it would be a heartier dinner entrée. If this doesn’t come with pita, I would pay the extra fee to get it on the side. I love pita bread from Zankou — it’s really fresh, soft and doughy!

I placed a catering order to be picked up at 10:30 and they were a few minutes behind but it was all worth it. I ordered the MEDITERRANEANFEASTSERVES20 – 25($ 185) 2 Whole Chickens, 1 Tray Shawerma or Tarna®, 12 Kabob Skewers, 20 Falafels*, 8 Large Sides, 8 Pita Packs, 1 Large Garlic, 1 Large Tahini and 1 Tray Pickled Turnips plue 20 extra falafels. All with tax included was under $ 220 and it was a great decision. We had to cater for a doctor’s office and they were all delighted.

I typically enjoy eating this chicken but don’t think it’s the best. It’s often an average taste comparable to most rotisserie chicken and is reminiscent of the quality of a mass produced product. It’s ok, but I wouldn’t travel to have it.

All you need is the chicken, pita bread, and that garlic paste. Seriously. That paste is like crack. Spread it on the pita and chicken. That’s it! My husband and I come here and buy 1 whole chicken for $ 11 and it comes with the pita and garlic. It’s fantastic. The chicken is not dry, but is very moist. I wouldn’t mind eating it with some rice as well, but it’s totally not necessary! I’ll have to try some other stuff that they have on their menu. I rarely deviate from the usual. Parking is street parking or the McDonald’s lot next door. I usually don’t have any problems parking though. The place is always pretty steady so you can call ahead for take away instead.

I usually order ½ chicken plate from Zankou Chicken, however I ordered the falafel wrap sandwich with extra garlic sauce. Pretty good for a meatless sandwich. They have this beeper for you to carry to your table. When the food is ready, the beeper will go off. Genius & clever idea!

I LOVEZANKOU! I took my boyfriend here for the first time last night. We ordered take out and it was so easy and holds really well until we got home. I always order the chicken tarna plate and it was delicious as always. I also asked for extra pita and garlic sauce(which they sometimes charge extra for at other locations) but I got it all for free! The service is quick and efficient as well. The only complaint I have for this location is the parking sucks. The lot behind it is extremely small so it’s street parking or risking getting a ticket from the McDonalds parking lot.

Prepare yourself for a garlic adventure! The family meal is an awesome deal. The chicken is perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned, the meal includes hummus, pickled turnips, hummus and pita. The prices are fairly reasonable. The tri-tip shwarma is also really delicious if you aren’t feeling chicken. But the key to making this an awesome meal is the garlic sauce. Each bite should be slathered with the creamy, savory garlic sauce. Don’t worry about your breath, they offer you mints. Parking is also available in the back.

While I love their roasted chicken, I am disappointed with their service. Since I ordered the chicken, my order came out quickly. They have many birds cooking constantly. So hence why my order came out quickly. She ordered a kebob plate. I understand that food is made to order(unless its chicken) so food takes time to cook. Her kebob plate took at least half an hour to come out. We arrived their before the dinner rush so place was deserted. There is no good explanation I can think of for why her food took so long to come out. For the chicken, I would come back.

I don’t get the hype. The tri tip has a cinnamon taste to it I just can’t deal with, the chicken is dry. Service was great, I do like the falafel and garlic spread. Th place a bit dated but clean, food took too long to come out. Prices and portions are fair, not worth going out of my way to come back for though.

Where da hell have I been all these years? I finally got to try this place out and I love it ! Garlic sauce, hummus, pita bread, and some bomb ass chicken? Yes please. It’s simple and no frills. Good for family meals and good prices for the lonely individuals hahaha. Yes their garlic sauce is everything and more so ask for extra! The pickled radish is meh but it’s okay, the color is pretty so I don’t mind: P

After a a 5 mile stenuous hike to and from echo mountain, I had a mad craving for humus and thought about this place. I went here couple of times, but totally forgot to write an review about this place. As I entered the restaurant, the aroma of the garlic spread and the chicken brought back old memories. It was as if we were long lost lovers reconnecting again! Ambiance: Pretty relaxing place to enjoy your mediteranean fix. Service: Staffers were very friendly, patient, and helped me clue together the ideal lunch meal for me. Food: 1) Are you a garlic fan? If you thought out loud and said«YES! YES! YES! YES!» this place is for you! You’ll be hooked on their garlic spread! I usually proclaim this amazing sauce as «CRACKSAUCE»! After you have some, you’ll probably go gung ho and apply the sauce on everything! 2) If you like rotisserie chicken, this place is definitely for you! Who doesn’t like biting into a piece of chicken that is über DELISH that is screaming out eat meee… eat meeeeeee… I’m so good and tender!!! I usually prefer the chicken tarna, because you don’t need to deal with the bones. Just scoop… nom… scooop… nom… and repeat! Okay maybe i’m going a tad overboard… but you get my drift! Add garlic spread and you’ll definitely be in cloud 9! :) 3) Humus eaters unite! If you want to satisfy your humus-tooth, darn tootin’ this place is for you. The warm pita bread plus dunking into the garlic spread was the cherry topper for me! Happy Eating Everyone!

Not bad, really… a bit pricey for the amount of food, but a tasty meal nontheless and a great place to get your Mediterranean fix on. For around $ 12 you can get a plate consisting of meat(chicken kebab, lule, combination), hummus, rice, a roasted tomato, chili peppers, and garlic spread. I’ve noticed that the chicken is a hit or miss; it is either tender and juicy or excessively dry and bland. Next time I’ll give the shawarma a shot. So… I’m giving it 3.5 stars for now. My pet peeves about this place is that they can be pretty stingy with their garlic sauce and that parking can suck. There is very limited in the back lot, or you’ll have to resort to street parking.
