The information is very valuable in the museum area and the house itself is quite a marvelous structure, though Katrina has unfortunately destroyed a significant portion of this historical site. When setting foot into this house, I immediately felt enveloped in its rich history, easily envisioning how it would be to actually occupy the house. The museum curator was extremely helpful and was a wealth of knowledge about the house and general Mississippi history. Additionally, the gravesite, though somber, is peaceful and filled with burial plots of prominent Mississippi members.
