Excellent ethnic food at a good price! Small place but very cozy. Jackee is extremely nice.

The menu is small, the restaurant is small, but good things come in small packages. You can eat there but, even Jackee admits, it’s really intended as a take out restaurant. There’s usually five or six menu items, but they pack a powerful punch. Fresh ingredients, spicy seasonings, and 100% flavorful! Jackee’s is a hidden gem. Love it.

This is the best Korean food I’ve ever had. Great food. Love the Ghan Ja Jang. The #6 is also my favorite. The way the food is prepared and seasoned is pretty good. This is the most unique take on Korean Food I’ve experienced.

All the dishes are wonderful & flavorful. Easy walk from work — just wish there were more tables. Have gone 5⁄6 times and always perfect.

Don’t know what the deal is but the last two times I’ve cruised by here wanting lunch(during lunch hours) it’s been closed. Sort of a bummer when it says it should be open…

HOLYSMOKES is this food good! I went downtown for Thai but it wasn’t open yet so I started looking around and followed the open sign into this tiny place with the menu on the wall. I had the vegetarian stir fry which was supposed to go home with me but smelled so enticing that I had to give it a try before I even started the car. DELICIOUS! I love the yak soba noodles… the mountain mushrooms the delicious spice… really really good. Go There NOW!

Arrived on a weekday evening, parking was a pain since it was the week of new years and it was around mid evening. The place is quite small and only consist of six tables. Being from So Cal, I’m spoiled with the huge selection of Korean restaurants in my back yard. The menu here is limited and we opted to share the Jiampong — seafood soup and beef stir fried veggies & purple rice. Overall the portions were large but thought both entrées were overly salty for my taste buds and the stir fried beef was in chunks but was tough. The owner here is really sweet but is a one person operation — taking orders, cooking and cleaning. My family owned a restaurant so I definitely give her kudos. I’m happy to see she has a steady following of client base.

I agree that the food is delicious but I have to rate it lower because Jackee was pretty rude to my family when we were ordering. She almost told us to leave because we were a large party of 5 and that was too many to cook for. She kept telling us all the things she can’t do and was pretty impatient with us when we were ordering as we were trying to understand her spiciness ratings. I realize she’s a one woman operation which is why she’s stressed and impatient but her attitude definitely impacted our eating experience.

We live in Southern California and eat Korean food often. We stopped by here for lunch. Very very good food we have tried everything on the menu and loved it all. It’s a must try! And the owner is so sweet!!!

UPDATE: Jackee appears to have allowed her«Best of Paso» award to go to her head a bit… Dishes are now $ 3 more than they were a month ago making my lunch $ 15 + tax and tip. I won’t stop going there, but will perhaps think of other options first.

This is a very small place and Jackie can talk your ear off, but the food is fantastic if you like Korean and you like it spicy. Jackie will, however, adjust the spiciness. My only reservation is the limited menu.

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I think it deserves a 3 stars when I compare it to other Korean restaurants I’ve eaten in Los Angeles. I want to love this place, because there isn’t another Korean restaurant in this area to get my ethnic food fix. The food is just ok. Note: I love spicy, and their medium spicy was just perfect, so be careful if you order super spicy. The menu is small(6 items), which affords the owner/cook to specialize in a dish. The menu changes frequently, so what was served a few months ago might not be available this month. The owner is a bit impatient. She was slightly rude when we were trying to decide what we wanted. We had a question and her retort was, «Can’t you read the menu?» I’m willing to give this place another try, since it came highly recommended to me by another foodie.

We are so glad we found Jackee’s on Unilocal! The menu is small but has all the bases covered. What’s most impressive is that she’s running this restaurant all by herself and doing it exceptionally well! I ordered the Jompohng which is a seafood and pork soup with udon noodles and my husband got the Bulgogee. We shared quite a bit. My soup broth had so much flavor and each ingredient stood out. There were so many different textures in the bowl I needed multiple utensils — spoon, chopsticks, fork. My husband kept reaching his spoon across the table and eventually I passed it over to him to finish. The Bulgogee was also flavorful & tender. Definitely on par with Korean restaurants we frequent in Chicago. I would have enjoyed being in Paso Robles long enough to have tried her entire menu. She’s really producing some tasty Korean food!

Best Korean food in the North County of San Luis Obispo County. I love the noodle and the stir frys and excellent kimchi.

I have had several dishes here. The bulgogi, the stir fry with yam noodles(chap chae bop) and the grilled chicken(kalbi). It’s not the healthiest food except the kalbi, but it is very comforting. They make a few dishes, and do it really well. Keep it simple. It’s a very small place, the concept was meant to be a take out place. Which makes sense. Parking can just be a bear downtown on the weekends. The purple rice is a nice touch, but I wish they would do bi bim bop.

This hole in the wall is one of the best restaurants in L Paso when it comes to food, price, and service. The six menu items are all unique and equally delicious, not to mention super authentic. Jackee is such a sweet character and if you come back, she’s sure to remember you! Just remember, when she says spicy, she means it! The scale is 1 – 10, but anything higher than a 5 is spicier than anything I’ve ever had at another restaurant. If you’re looking for an authentic Korean experience at a fair price(especially for downtown Paso) you’ve got to try Jackee’s.

Two things are spicy here. The food and Jackee! No substitutions and you may just get turned away close to closing time as she did to multiple people while I was eating. If I was turned away without any apology, etc I don’t know if I would ever come back. Hopefully she works on that… So why four stars? The food is really good. Place is clean and nice inside(curb appeal could be upgraded). If you like K-BBQ, this is one of the good places in Paso. Stick to the menu and when she asks 1 – 10 on spicy I suggest keeping it under 5. I love hot/spicy and picked 4. It was just right, but was still sweating and drinking water.

Only six choices and everything is cooked fresh to order by the owner. Everything here is good! I wish they had hot barley tea, though.

We love Jackee’s food so much! We are glad that had this restaurant when visited Paso Robles, and this Korean restaurant is way better than other ones we tried in town! Bi Bim Bop and Jompohng are so tasty, even we asked Jackee to make vegetarian ones. Highly recommend!

Great place for lunch and hot and spicy food! Very clean and the owners are friendly. Food is delicious and spicy. I had the Jetook Bokkum stir fry. Highly recommend saying a 2 or three on the Heat Choice! They do a great job of delivering fresh food that is prepared right there in the restaurant. Definitely give this a try, you won’t be disappointed!
