This is a great boutique winery where the wine maker/owner pours your tasting. He’s very knowledgeable and makes you feel right at home. The wines were excellent too.

This was our third stop during ZinFest 2015 and by far our favorite. The selections were all great. So great we decided to buy a couple of bottles and join their wine club. Speaking of club, we just opened a bottle of their 2013 tempranillo and it was amazing. The tasting room/lab gave our visit a very unique feel. So glad we decided to take the drive out there. Good wine made by good people! can hardly wait for the next club shipment.

We make several trips per year to the region for wine tasting and buying, and I am rarely moved to write a Unilocal review. We just adored everything about this winery! And please note that some of the lesser reviews here(4 star) were written several vintages ago. From our discussion with the woman pouring(winemaker/wife) I believe that these winemakers use the best grapes that they can find at the time, so weather will have a big effect on the outcomes, and the outcomes will vary somewhat vintage to vintage. I’m glad that we didn’t see those reviews before deciding to go, because the reds(always our focus) were just outstanding, and at prices that represent a very good value. We bought the RVR(Rhone Varietal Red?) and the Zinfandel, and we are not even necessarily huge fans of Rhone blends nor Zins. I literally said OOOOHH upon sipping the RVR, and the Zin had real backbone, structure, and delicious fruit. There is a little sign on the bar that says«Welcome» and spells out the deal: $ 5 per tasting, waived with purchase.(We did not feel welcome everywhere we went, nor that we mattered. We felt that we mattered here at this small family winery. We also appreciated knowing that the fee is waived as not every place does that. Just thoughtfu of them to share that, and friendly.) Also I would recommend not being scared off by comments of a small tasting room. There is a lovely patio area with serving window that opens to the bar/pouring area. We were there alone early in the day during the week, but the patio was inviting, and again, the owners planned for visitors and can accommodate«crowds». We never consider wine clubs, because they are ubiquitous(you can’t join them all!) and the wines are either«affordable» or good, but typically not both. Not only did we find the Nardeau wines to be both«good» and a good value, but their club and brochure are creative and fun. I will leave it at that, but I recommend that you pick up the brochure when you’re there. At ~$ 25/bottle delivered, we will probably join. As our cellar is well-stocked, that says a lot. Lastly, we had a great time reminiscing about our college days while looking over the owners’ collection of bottles(full!) of Lancers, Boone’s Farm, and many many more .(I am not doing it justice by any means!). My husband and I both loved our visit, and we are picky at this point. There are a zillion choices in the area, most mediocre. This place is the real deal, wine-making-wise, friendly, and a hoot. A member of the«Off The Beaten Path –Far Out Wineries». We will be back.

This was our last stop on our final day of wine tasting. We almost skipped it and just went back to the hotel. Good thing we didn’t! This is also one of the smaller if not smallest wineries we visited. The tasting room was very small, trying to fit 10 people in there would have been a stretch. Like most of our tastings we started with a white(a Vigonier if I remember), a rose and 3 reds. I was here shopping for reds, and he reds here did not disappoint. The gentleman pouring for us, whom I believe was also the wine maker allowed us to revisit the 3 reds. We ended up buying the 2007 Syrah, and the 2008 Mixed Black(a blend of Zin, Petite Sirah and Grenache). I love finding small wineries like this. The wine makers are usually passionate about what they do and they make some very unique and surprising wines. This place is well worth a visit!

The owners of this winery could not be nicer. We enjoyed the wines we tasted while sitting under umbrellas outside. Ahhh. All you had to do was go up to a window to get the next pour. Super laid back. We bought a bottle — but I don’t even think they had a tasting fee if you didn’t buy a bottle. The drive up there is long and windy — but oh so beautiful and worth it.

Very small winery and Robert was friendly enough, though the Zin was the only thing I found I liked.

Our group of four made this our second stop in the central coast region and were very disappointed by the tasting experience. The owner seemed bored and uninterested in our visit. Seemed very odd that we had to ask him to tell us about his winery, otherwise, we would have learned nothing about the winery or the wines being poured. There are many other places to visit in the region so I would recommend crossing this off your list of tastings.

My husband and I stopped by Nadeau this past weekend while we were doing some tasting in Paso Robles. We had been here once before after having Nadeau suggested to us by a family member a couple years ago. While planning our trip this time around we made sure to include Nadeau in our schedule after remembering how great our visit was last time. Once again, we were not disappointed! The tasting room is very small and friendly(we prefer smaller tasting rooms instead of the large, noisy ones). The winemaker himself was pouring behind the bar. He was very friendly and explained a lot about their wine. We ended up buying a few bottles and joining the wine club since we were so impressed.

Stopped by during passport weekend and the small tasting«room» was very crowded with the seven or eight of us. Behind the counter, the winemaker/owner has a very scientfic setup(mad scientist anyone?). Chocolates were served with the Zinfandels and the owner and his wife were friendly. A bit out of the way, but if you are in the area a fun place to stop.

The best wine Nadeau ever made was called RVR, Rhone Varietal Red. They stopped making it, so they focus more on Zinfandel I stopped by there this past weekend because I noticed they had a few Rhone varietals on the list. But to my disappointment, the wines were nowhere near as good as that RVR was. Bad thing is that they don’t plan on making it again. I doubt if I will ever go back there, which is too bad because I used to love their wine.

We loved everything they had here and ended up walking away with a couple of bottles. The tempranillo is especially good and I enjoyed the cabernet(not common). Plus there were bunson burners and beakers every where so it was an added dexter’s secret lab treat.
