We were impressed with how quaint this place is! They were quick with our food order and the atmosphere is sweet. Our waitress was on top of noticing where we were at with water and when we were done. We were not disappointed after being recommended this place!

The food here is very fresh ! The couple that own this place are really nice. The salads are always fresh. I like the French Dip. Ice tea is never bitter. They really do a nice job.

Passing through while moving I stopped at this place for brunch. Breakfast is over priced and the staff barely speaks English. This is America and if you’re serving and taking food orders learn English… The pancakes were too thick and the eggs were very runny. The sausage was spicy and way over cooked.

Food was solid, host at the start messed up our morning. Not the most friendly person, but food made up for it. Egg Bacon Scramble on avocado bed(yum!), crispy country potatoes, corned beef hash(good), blueberry pancakes(delicious)! Has outside seating, if you score it great brunch stop!

Springside is consistently good. While I can’t speak for their lunch menu, I’ve never had anything there for breakfast that was disappointing. I’m a big fan of «The Cambrian,» which has these round sausage patties that are probably the best I’ve ever tasted, and biscuits and gravy to die for. I can’t recommend this place for large parties, as it’s a smaller restaurant and organizing and rearranging tables takes them a little longer than you may be interested in waiting. If you’ve never been, make this your next breakfast outing!

We came for a mid-week brunch. The place was not busy. Service is excellent and meals were brought quickly. I had the 2 egg breakfast with country potatoes and rye toast. My husband had a chicken burger. He said he thought the chicken was probably cooked from frozen and he was probably right. In fact. There was a salesman there selling the owner frozen food. Specifically they were talking about crab cakes and filets lol. My breakfast was cooked correctly but I didn’t care for the potatoes. They just didn’t have any flavor. This is a place we have visited several times. I think in the future I’ll stick to a salad.

After our friends made us dinner in the evening, we felt it was only right to take them out to breakfast. This was one of their favorite local spots. Food portions were ample, if you are a light breakfast eater either order one of the lighter breakfasts or be prepared to take some home with you. One of us had the oatmeal breakfast, which included Springside’s tempting arrangement of fruit and a pumpkin muffin. Another had Joel’s breakfast, and I had an omelet with monterey jack, avocado and tomatoes. Lots of cheese, but oh so tasty. For some of the breakfast orders you have a choice of muffin, toast, or country potatoes. If you like or feel like potatoes, order them because you will not regret it. Pricing was average and the food was very good. Pleasant atmosphere as well.

Paso Robles just makes you feel all warm inside. Despite it being a cold and rainy day, once we entered Springside Restaurant we immediately felt at home. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive and the place is small and intimate but can hold parties of 10 or more. The food was also delicious. The fruit was fresh and every was cooked and spiced well. I had one of the brunch specials which i would recommend everyone get. Coming from San Francisco this was an unheard of deal. You get a full brunch meal of things like Egg Benedict or Eggs Florentine. You also get a bowl of fruit but actually huge portions of fruit. You also get a side and toast AND a Mimosa all for 14.95. I did not know what to do with my mouth of hands. Seriously 14.95 is the cost of a Mimosa in San Francisco. This is an incredible deal and I hope I don’t cost them money by pointing this out to everyone. The service was very fast despite having a full amount of people. The place can get busy on Sundays as you have to deal with the church crowd but its so nice inside and everyone is so friendly you won’t even feel the rush. It feels like a hometown diner and the staff make it feel like a five star experience. Absolutely fell in love with Springside and if back in Paso Robles will put it on this list of must visits.

We’re always in search of non-chain local places and Unilocal pointed us to a great spot. We were pleasantly surprised by this cozy restaurant. Driving by on Spring Street, you sense a house-turned-casual dining. However, this is a step closer to fine dining with the ambiance, fireplace, and menu. The small menu offers a handful of delicious options. I chose the special, sea bass, and was not disappointed. It was cooked perfectly. I’m not a fan of bell peppers but bass was seved atop a pepper sauce that complimented it nicely. The veggies, a medley of grean beans, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and carrots, were yummy, too. My wife enjoyed her chicken piccata, veggies, and rice. She didn’t talk much, just smiled and ate(a sign that she’s enjoying her meal). When she finished, she said the lemon caper sauce was one of her favorites. We look forward to returning and plan to see what breakfast/brunch has to offer.

Great choice! We missed breakfast at our hotel so decided to venture out for some local flavor. The desk clerk gave us the names of a couple upper end brunch places, but I liked the sound of this one. So glad we didn’t listen to the clerk. This place is great! Cute, charming digs with outdoor seating. We were greeted promptly and seated. Coffee was fab, ordered the Alaskan Benedict and the Aebleskiver pancakes. We could not have been more impressed with the quality of food and hospitality of service. We will definitely stop in again on our next time through.

I have been to this restaurant several times and have not been disappointed. This review, however is in regards to how the owner of this restaurant, his cooks, and his crew saved my wedding. With only one week and a half before the big day, our caterer canceled on us. As you can imagine, my wife and I then started scrambling to find somebody who could feed our guests with quality food and hopefully not charge an arm and a leg. We reached out to several catering companies and restaurants throughout town, but were met with disappointment. Either they were already booked or saw we were desperate and wanted to charge us far too much. Finally, my wife called the Springside and spoke with the owner, who is a kind and funny guy. He told her he and his crew could do the job and asked us to come taste what he had to offer. He prepared for us one of the best meals of my life and I was immediately sold on getting him to do our catering. After discussing with him the food, appetizers, clean up, and assorted extras, he quoted us a price that was better than our original caterer that flaked. Flash forward to the day of the wedding. His team was prompt, efficient, professional, well dressed, and I still get compliments to this day on the food. The food: Appetizers were coconut friend shrimp, which were the favorites of our guests and ran out quickly, mushroom bruschetta that was very tasty, and my favorite was fried calamari strips, they were amazing. Main course was chicken marsala or steak with mushroom sauce, grilled vegetables, and mashed potatoes. Nothing on our guests’ plates went to waste. Even the salad course was great and was served with a balsamic vinaigrette and amazingly delicious fresh baked bread. My wife and I are eternally greatful for the delicious food, great service, and kindness this gentleman and his crew showed us. We can not say thank you enough, he made the day a great success.

I have been here a few times and cant believe i havent written a review. For breakfast, this is the place to go, outside seating is nice but inside is very warming. We never had a problem with the food and the portions are always perfect. Last week i had family visit and they always went to another local place but never came here. After bringing them here, they now love this place.

My husband has been here a few times, even for his best friends bachelor party, so of course we stopped by here for breakfast while on our honeymoon, before venturing off on our winey tasting adventure. I ordered a garden veggie delight omelet, my husband got the corn beef hash and biscuits and gravy. The plates were massive and there was so much food that we had enough for a whole meal for lunch. We both enjoyed our meals and left feeling like we over– ate and needed a nap, haha. The service was also great; the waitresses and the hostess kept coming by to refill our water and coffee. They were all very friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed our breakfast.

Let me start by saying tonight’s meal was Excellent! On a whim my sweetheart and I dropped in for dinner for a few reasons. 1. The obvious, hunger. 2. It’s date night which warrants the«cut above» experience. 3. We didn’t want to deal with downtown’s lack of parking. Springside was the perfect choice. The smaller dining room felt almost homey which, for us, was a comfortably intimate dining experience. We both ordered from the specials menu. I had the salmon fillet(delicious) and my sweetie had the pork chop with a Marsala mushroom sauce which was to die for. The salmon fillet was surprisingly delicate in flavor and cooked to perfection, ie all the flavor that you love, without the fishiness, and flakey — moist from the thickest to the thinnest part of the fillet. The pork chop was tender and succulent with a Marsala mushroom sauce which complimented the meat beautifully. Both entrees were served with an aromatic rice pilaf, a flavorful broccoli carrot medley that was crisp-tender., and a choice of soup or salad. I chose the salad; it was tasty and very fresh. The wine selection was generous with several«by the glass» options. Their beer menu also offered local favorites, Firestone’s DBA and 805. Note to all the IPA fans: at this time there were none on the menu. Come to think of it, I don’t recall seeing a Hefeweizen either. Our server was very attentive in the right way. He knew exactly when to check in with us and when to clear our plates. Very personable and professional. Pros: yummy, comfortable, great service, PARKING, very affordable, excellent atmosphere inside and outside. Even the restrooms were impressively clean. Cons: no IPA. Seriously, this isn’t a deal breaker. More of an inside joke.

Maybe it’s because I’m from the city, but I expect service to at least be decently paced. Maybe in the country, they have more time to sit around and wait for food, but I like to be in a hurry. This was our last stop before going to the Firestone Brewery and I was super excited for that but our breakfast took over an hour to receive. After we received it, the food wasn’t even that good. I don’t really have much reason to ever be in Paso Robles, but if I am, I’ll eat somewhere else.

We ate breakfast here on a Tuesday morning. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I made two substitutions on my order and they didn’t bat an eye. Everything was very fresh and non-greasy. I had a spinach and mushroom omelet and a biscuit with some gravy and the biscuit was like a fluffy cloud! The waitress told me that they bake there own biscuits. The spinach was very fresh.

I found this restaurant on Unilocal and we decided to give it a try based on the reviews. Our experience was just«ok.» The place was busy so we decided to look at the menu and have our order ready as soon as we sat down. We were seated within 20 minutes of putting our name on the list. They have a good variety of breakfast entrees and a good brunch that includes a beverage(Champagne or Mimosas included with this, huge plus) choice of toast, fruit and potatoes. I ordered the seafood omelet, my friends had the eggs lorraine and the country browns. We waited a LONG time to get our food, somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 min. Thankfully they brought out our fruit, which there was a lot of and included watermelon and pineapple, right off the bat because we were pretty hungry. The seafood omelet includes crab, shrimp and jack cheese. I will give them credit for there being A LOT of crab inside, however, it was a little fishy. I shouldn’t have ordered this because I like really fresh crab and this didn’t taste very fresh, huge bummer. The shrimp was good but there was very little of it in the omelet. The country browns were a bit bland for my friend’s taste, but I would have rather ordered that than the seafood omelet. I will say that our waitress was very busy and provided us with everything we needed in a timely manner(aside from the food, but that wasn’t her fault.)

In town for a wedding and wanted a good place for breakfast. I am very particular about my breakfast spots and often spend countless time reading reviews and checking out a menu before I select a place. I selected Springside for the reviews and the menu listing… and it did not disappoint. It is a quaint, small restaurant that has the feeling of a small town local spot. You are treated warmly at the door and seated promptly(they also offer patio dining, which is always a plus). Their menu is large for a small place, offering a variety of egg dishes, pancakes and other griddle options. We ordered the Eggs Cambrian and Monterey scramble. Their bacon is probably some of the best bacon I have eaten, that perfect combination of crispy and juicy. The biscuits and gravy are spectacular. My fiancé had the Monterey scramble and said it was killer. Definitely stop here for breakfast in Paso Robles!

So many restaurants try to succeed in the homestyle, slightly rustic, slightly greasy, breakfast/brunch category, that it’s nice to find one that you’d actually visit again. The highlight is definitely the food. My lady friend got a vegetarian omelet and a short stack of pancakes, and was very happy with the flavor and freshness. She almost even finished the whole thing despite it being way too much for her. I got the Santa Rosa burrito; it was very good and had an excellent fresh salsa with quite a it of heat. The lowlight is service. We sat out on the patio because it was a pleasant Saturday morning and had to flag someone down to take our order, and then after she disappeared back into the main dining area, it was a good 30 minutes before our food came out. At one point the waitress dropped an entire tray of dishes, cursed, and walked away. After we were done, it again took us some time to flag someone down so we could pay. On a side note, with so much time waiting around, tables end up talking to each other, which is a nice departure from the rushed indifference I’m used to. I would give this place 4 stars if they could speed up service and make the servers more professional, but alas it only deserves 3 the way it currently operates.
