At the end of a gorgeous little beach, in the quaint, historic district of Pass-a-Grille in St Pete, there sits a wonderful little boutique called DODY. Now I have never had the opportunity to be the first to write a review on anything on Unilocal so I hope you’ll forgive me but I do take this opportunity rather seriously. Dody(which is also the name of the store’s owner), is a treasure hold for those lucky enough to either live in this sleepy hallow or who will discover this rare, perfectly created collection of women’s beachwear and home delights as they stroll a couple of blocks away from the Don Cesar — where I happened to have been staying last week. Now I live in Los Angeles, a true hub of women’s fashionable yet wearable designer clothing(if you don’t believe me just take a second look at where your latest digs actually come from) and I could only wish we had a boutique of this caliber available to us. I have never seen such a pitch perfect selection of fun, sexy yet elegant bathing suits this side of St Barts and Rio de Janeiro. Though the suits aren’t the only attraction, it is certainly one of the owner’s specialities(along with a delightful assortissement of cover-ups, jewelry and shoes), her clothing is exquisitely chosen to jazz-up any sun-seeking body in search of the fashionably cool and aesthetic. There aren’t many stores whose owner seems to know exactly what she is doing and exactly to whom she is selling. Believe me this woman knows her stuff, and my poor credit card would have to agree. But hey, tis the price for beauty and being able to feel at any moment like an Italian Fashionista, relaxing gracefully on the bow of her boyfriend’s motoryacht. Dody is a for those of us who believe that beachwear can and should be perfettamente bellissima! Fingers crossed for a West coast debut. :)
