This place is amazing my best friend is Peruvian and showed me this place and I’m so happy he did. My boyfriend and I went to many different Peruvian spots we can say this is the best ! The portions and the flavor is fantastic we love to get seafood dishes here so fresh!

The food here is amazing reminded me of Peru home made mayo and green sauce when you walk in. Great portions. Weekend Bbq is a must try.

Dont really do a lot of reviewing but after reading the others i felt obligated. The food here is excellent. Very authentic peruvian, definitely the best in Passaic. Trust me I have tried them all. Chevere used to be the only game in town but has always been hit or miss, more a miss lately. I mostly eat in the restaurant so can’t tell you how well it travels. The waitress’s have always been excellent. They only accept cash.

When I called I specifically asked that all orders be ready for pick up at the time they specified. Before I asked how much, they hung up on me. Great. When I got there, my 1 ½ rotisserie chicken was sitting on the table while my other orders were being prepared in the kitchen. 20 minutes later all my orders were ready, and by the time I got home 5 minutes later, my chicken was dried and cold. The vegetable fried rice came with extra scallions only(uh ok), and it was very salty. The chicken, again, was cold and dried, and bloody inside by the bones. The green and yellow aji sauces were so salty that I threw them all away and I paid extra for them. What a waste. To top it all off, the Spanish-speaking pudgy black lady with glasses behind the counter, has a really bad attitude. Not only did she hang up on me on the phone earlier, but she scoffed at me when I kindly asked how much longer I had to wait for my other orders. I came at a time they said my orders were going to be ready, and they made me wait 20 minutes longer when I got there. Was I not being reasonable to ask about my other orders? This isn’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience at Caravana Restaurant. I’ve tried to be patient and understanding, but I’m not going back again. I’d much rather go to El Gordo on Monroe St or Chevere on Lexington where they treat their customers right and the food is great.
