Seriously gave me food poisoning and it wasn’t even the food poisoning that’s like, kind of worth it because it was delicious, but it was more disappointing because it was extremely soggy and it was flavorless. Got the chimichangas and asked for no queso on top… Brought out with queso on top… Weird chicken juice everywhere… Asked for a side of queso for our chips and the queso was flavorless as well… Don’t waste your money! Our waiter didn’t even refill our drinks until we waved him over to the table… Really just awful service and awful food. We had a group of 5 and they were very displeased as well.

Boring Mexican. I am biased because I lived in Austin for a couple years, but this is typical boring mexican, and it doesn’t stand out in Columbus. I’ve been here 10 or 20 times because it’s close to my house. The flavor just isn’t there. Just not seasoned well. Maybe the high rating is because there isn’t another mexican place besides taco bell for about 10 miles. The service is good, people are nice. It’s not bad, it’s just not good.

The food was pretty good. Service was decent and price was okay. My only thing was they did not give you a lot of food compared to other local Mexican restaurants. Overall I wouldn’t mind coming back. Did not love or hate the food just okay !

This place is in the middle of nowhere, in a complex into which one cannot make a left-hand turn. That aside, it was clean and nice-looking upon entry. The service was slower than normal, but not bad. The food was good. I ordered the steak & mushrooms and my partner ordered the chicken fajitas. I would have to visit a second time to conclude definitively that this is the best Mexican place I’ve found in the Columbus suburbs, but I’m getting there.

My friend and I came for lunch to try out their lunch special which is like a variety of any 20 items for $ 7.95. Their food and drinks are good but the customer service was slow in refilling drinks and our wait to get our order. I do like their chimichanga. I might come back but I will try out/review other authentic Mexican restaurants before making a 5 star choice for the Columbus metro area.

First time back in 7 months but the food seems to have declined(I got the $hit$) and service was horrendous as my party of 2 were the only ones in the restaurant while the mexican waiter was no where to be found after we got our food. When we left, it turns out the mexican waiter was making out around the corner wall with the new petite asian girl. They just chuckled when we saw them.

Fast service, friendly staff and great price. This is basic Ohio Mexican but it’s a great place to take kids for a quick bite to eat. The staff is always very friendly and sweet.

My husband and I are pretty much in love with this place, as well as the staff. We eat here about 2 – 3 times/month. I ALWAYS get the Fajita Quesadilla. It’s amazing. My husband usually gets the Flautas, but he’s also gotten Maria’s Special a few times and said that it was good too. The real reason we come here is because their margaritas are amazing, their service is super speedy, and the staff members are friendly. We always bring friends and family here whenever they visit and they’ve all had nothing but good things to say about the place. The restrooms are spotless so it always makes me feel confident that the kitchen is the same way. The only piece of advice I have is that if you are ordering a margarita on the rocks, order a glass of water too because you’ll want to steal the ice from it. The margaritas are kept just above room temperature so when they add ice, it always melts right away(the dining room is a little warm in the summer). If they kept those suckers on ice, it would be the best margarita I’ve ever had, but until then, Tlaquepaque in Zanesville holds that title. I wish they had happy hour. I’ve never heard of a Mexican restaurant NOT having happy hour, but what do I know? :)

Best chips and salsa in town. I always ask for the hot sauce to accommodate the chips, it us only provided if requested. The Speedy Gonzales lunch is my usual entry. Great cost, great food

This is one of our favorite mexican restaurants in the area. Always a coupon on hand which is nice as well! Quick service and so far they have gotten my order right every time… im a little picky.

Since my initial review 3 years ago, Puerto Vallarta has only gotten better. The food is very good. I’ve tried most everything on the menu and Steak Tapatio and Arroz con Pollo are my faves. Service is fast and the staff is friendly. Most have been there since day one and it’s nice to be remembered when you walk in. The restaurant is always pretty busy, is kid friendly and handles large parties well. Prices are very reasonable. This is one of the few places I’ve gone to time and time again and have never been disappointed.

We have eaten at Puerto Vallarta in Heath and Newark. One of them has great food and bad service and the other is the opposite. This location in Pataskala, has great food and service! We love the Vallarta Fajitas, the Chile Relleno was amazing and my husband really enjoyed the chicken chimichangas. We always enjoy the salsa and chips from this chain or at least in the three locations we have been to. I also had a margarita the last time we were there and it was really good. They aren’t stingy with the alcohol either. Thanks for the great service and amazing food!

Much better service this time, really wanted a coffee drink, maybe an Irish coffee, and these folks were willing to put on a pot for me. The chips were good and warm, cheese dip pretty popular with the kiddos, though messy. Mixed drinks not bad at $ 5, everyone was happy with their dinners. I wouldn’t call it authentic particularly but was pretty good for Americanized Mexican.

It wasn’t easy to find this place, but once I did I was glad I made the effort to get there. The free chips and salsa were a great start and I had the steak chimichanga and it was excellent. I will definitely be back!!!

We get Valupak coupons for this place about once per month, so we finally decided to try it out. Mostly based on the previous positive Unilocal reviews and the fact that every time we drive by it, we say we have to check it out. It seems like it’s in an odd spot. It’s in a shopping center that doesn’t have much else in it, on a rural road, a couple minutes outside of the main part of Pataskala. But once you get inside, you feel like you’re in the city. Very trendy vibe. They even have an outdoor patio, which I’d love to check out on another nice day like today. It’s more of a restaurant than a bar, but it does have a bar area in the middle and some TVs to watch sports. They have beer and margarita specials and the regular margarita I had was great! Our waiter was very friendly. We had our two young children with us(definitely family-friendly) and as soon as he introduced himself and asked what we would like to drink, our 2.5 year-old told him what she wanted to eat. «Cheese quesadilla with rice!» I was impressed with his willingness to get down on her level and talk to her. A little friendliness goes a long way in this business. He brought her food out pretty quickly while he brought our drinks out. My wife ordered shrimp chimichanga and loved it so much that she wants to go back already. I had the spinach and cheese enchiladas, which were pretty good. I didn’t love them, but they were good. I’d try something else next time we go(and we will go back). The chips and salsa that he brought out at the beginning of the meal were very scrumptious. My food came so quickly that I had to eat some more chips and salsa before I started eating because they were so good. At the end of our meal, our waiter brought my wife an apple empanada for Mother’s Day. Again, a little extra courtesy to make someone’s day goes a LONG way. A very nice Mother’s Day dinner experience that made us want to go back again. Both our daughters enjoyed their meal too!(our 10 month-old snacked on the rice throughout most of our meal)

My family and I gather here for almost every birthday. We receive excellent service and the variety of food and drinks is outstanding. The times that I’ve ordered a standard chicken or beef taco plate, I’ve been disappointed, but when I’ve ordered outside of the box(something like the Pollo con Crema or Burrito Tapatio) I’ve been super impressed! When the chips are warm, they are to die for. If you’re a margarita fan, give theirs a try(or just buy a whole pitcher for the table… it will go quickly, I promise!). The servers are all very friendly, and this is a very kid-friendly place. Give it a try!

Good Unilocal reviews steered me here when I was close to Pataskala last week. As a former Texan I am always down to check out Mexican places in hopes I’ll have more choices when I’m jonesing for it. Puerto Vallarta was good, not really great though. Salsa was sweet and boring, tortillas obviously aren’t homemade(if they are, yikes). I enjoyed the cheap beer, though! We ordered one of the combos that contained a taco, a chile relleno, an enchilada and a chalupa. The relleno had great roasted flavor. My boyfriend liked everything else but again, nothing to get super excited about. I had chicken fajitas and liked that were were lots of mushrooms and grilled onions. Good guacamole. Service was pretty good. Lunch specials were appealing but since I’m rarely nearby, not really a consideration for the future. We might be back if we’re in the area again, but I don’t think we’ll be going out of our way.
