Speedway

The thing about realizing in the morning that you’re out of coffee is, if you are someone like me who needs a cup for each eye, you really need a cup of coffee before contemplating going to the grocery for more coffee. Unfortunately for me, the only coffee shop in town I know of is Starbucks inside Kroger and that’s a bit much to deal with for the above reasons. I tried to get my son to sleep, instead he put me to sleep so I woke up still wearing shoes and with a captain America figure and an owl on my face. That’s not good sleep folks. Anyway, so I need coffee here.
I absolutely hate most gas stations’ coffee, the very thought of slightly burnt coffee that’s been sitting there for hours, possibly filtered with repurposed pantyhose is enough to get me to consider tea. Usually when this happens I’ll get myself together and just get a small can of whatever coffee they sell and go back home and make some but I have no idea where my regular coffee maker is, and the little basket for non-​Keurig coffee is missing. Ugh. So I decide to go ahead and go to Speedway for coffee. I’ve had coffee there before and it wasn’t terrible, for a bit there they had Brazilian coffee even, so I convinced myself to go. Wouldn’t you know, I got there and a pot was just finished brewing! I don’t know about getting coffee there in the middle of the afternoon but they are busier than the other gas stations around so maybe. In the morning it was not bad, not bad at all.

This location was handy. I was running low on diesel fuel after filling up in Philadelphia, PA. I didn’t think I could make it to Dayton, so I stopped here.
From membership card to fill-​up, things went smoothly. The fluid for cleaning the windows was empty, so I didn’t bother to try to clean my windshield.
People inside seemed okay, but not friendly. I think the bosses were there, so maybe they were all uncomfortable. Still, I got my Mountain Dew Code Red – one of the few places to get it now and not a bad price, unless you consider the price of a two litre isn’t much more and has over double the drink.

Well, it’s a gas station so there’s not much to say about it other than the wait staff at the counters inside are quite friendly and helpful. Due to its location right off of I-​70 though, the gas is usually the most expensive on the entire east and north side of Columbus but it’s right by my house so I use the hell out of this place.
