Took this ferry July 4th to go to Davis park and party all day at a friend’s house. They were clearly not prepared for the crowds. I mean I understand it is very difficult to get everyone home and the boat has a certain capacity, but they had no crowd control on the Dock, and it was a near riot situation. There were only 2SCPD officers there trying their best and no staff while 1000+ people were trying to get on boats. One police officer was getting pushed and poked by an angry drunk guy, yet he could do nothing about it because there would have been a riot. They need to hire more staff and security for this, and have barricades etc. Could have been disastrous. July 4 is probably their busiest day, but with thousands of people paying $ 16 for a Round trip, I am sure they can spring for some temporary security/barriers

I used to work over at Davis Park back when I worked for the town and used to ride for free. Tops is that they have ferrys almost on the hour and it’s in a convient space. The davis park ferry reminds me of being a teenager and going to the beach for work everyday. It’s like you can’t think of Davis park without remembering the ferry! ony bottoms are that it’s getting close to 20 dollars for a round trip ticket.
